There was no service because it’s a very short flight. There’s not enough time for the flight attendants to safely get through the whole cabin in time, in addition to all their other duties.
That makes sense and it's totally respectable if that's the case! My opinion then would be that Delta should reevaluate the minimum distances they advertise service as being available on. If over half the time they can't get through the cabin on a 250+ mile flight, it would make sense to move the bar to 300 miles.

They use flight time (wheels up to wheels down) to determine whether or not there will be service, which changes day to day based on weather, traffic, etc. Additionally there could have been other factors, such as forecasted turbulence requiring them to skip service. That is normally announced ahead of time.
