      @@ghostrider-be9ek so you are really talking about deck angle, not AoA. That’s not the same.
      Also, if you want to stay with AoA, for an aircraft having half the AoA is actually better than a higher AoA, which could get close to a stall.
      Anyway, no, for a 4 engine aircraft, the deck angle and climb rate, is normal. You cannot compare climb performance of a 4 engine aircraft versus a 2 engine aircraft. A B747 would be the same.

      @@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 LOL, climb performance of a high powered twin is somehow lacking vs an older quad jet - watching this video, you just completed your statement in buffoonery.
      What matters most is thrust/weight ratio, NOT the number of engines. Why do I have to explain the obvious?
      Yes, AoA and deck angle are different, but my point is the same, this is not a typical nose up attitude for a large commercial airliner - that the video clearly shows the aircraft struggling to gain altitude, and you think its 'normal' - again indicates a clear lack of the fundamentals.

      I know. Plus that airport is at 2,000 feet altitude, and the air density at that height has a significant effect on the take-off run. In Strategic Air Command a KC-135 was ALWAYS scheduled to T/O if we actually launched while on Alert with a TOGW that made us Rotate Just Before the Runway End Markes went by the windows AND GOT AIRBORNE with 50-100' of remaining in the OVERRUN. Our base was lucky & only had a 6' chain link fence around it & we took off after 4 B-52's. We hoped that one of those BUFFS would flatten it Before the 135's had to.

    1:45 That kind of white "smoke" we had once inside the passenger cabin right after takeoff. Nobody seemed to care but it freaked me out like mad 😱 Later I was told it was coming through the air conditioner and though it wasn't desirable, it was harmless.

    • @davidaguillard2647
      @davidaguillard2647 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      The smoke in the video is fumes from the incomplete combustion of the jet fuel. What you saw in the cabin was just water vapor and air from the HVAC system

    • @wiredforstereo
      @wiredforstereo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      The "smoke" in the cabin is just water vapor. Extremely normal.
      The smoke from the engine is unburned fuel, not actually smoke. Happens when the ignitors don't ignite the fuel immediately. Not abnormal at all.
      It is also quite normal in my experience to get a whiff of fuel when the airplane first switches from air provided by the auxiliary power unit (apu) to the main engines after they have started up.
      Newer planes like the 787 do not use engine bleed air for cabin air, so this won't happen.

    Back in the 90s used to work in Harmondsworth near Heathrow and due to car trouble found myself walking to a bus stop near Colnbrook which sits at the Western end of Heathrow. Unbeknownst to me, my walk past the perimeter fence of the airport coincided with Concord taking off at about 6pm. I've never experienced anything like it as it seemed to clear the fence by about 5 metres. I swear I could see the face of the pilot as he flew overhead. From a low rumbling sound as it came along the runway to the full deafening roar seemed to occur in a flash and I remember wondering if I was in some sort of restricted zone as it didn't feel right to allow anyone to be subjected to the force that I felt even in the ground as it passed overhead. Thirty plus years later and I've never forgotten it!

    1:40 this could be a "new" engine aka one that has just come from the factory/shop and it might still have the transport oil covering everything inside. idk if they spray a film of oil over the engines internals or if its just the oil they put in the bearings for transport of what but they smoke like hell on their first startup after being built/rebuilt and transported.
    EDIT its not FIRST startup, they test run engines before shipping them off to get installed, but they have to set them up for transport after they test them.

      @@u2bear377 You know i think you might be right. Maybe they didn't run it long enough on that test to burn it all off? Or maybe something else is going on. At first i thought it was condensation from the air temp/humidity but that looks too smokey.

    • @johnt.4947
      @johnt.4947 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@u2bear377 Yes! When I was a jet engine mech in the Air Force (US), we always did a maintenance run after every engine installation. It would be crazy not to. You have to do a leak and ops check. I'm not sure what's going on in this video, bc I assume commercial acft would have the same rules.
      The smoke you see is from the oil being burnt from the fuel lines. If an engine is going to sit for any length of time, a light coating of oil is introduced through the engine's fuel system. This is to prevent any possibility of condensation (moisture) to accumulate within the fuel lines, and other engine components.
