Thank you, that was really beautiful, and an education. My dad (90) tells of how he would go to bed as a little boy listening to a Caruso record being played by his parents downstairs. I think he found it more scary than the Blitz!
A nice bit of history!!! Lovely…thank you so much! Quite nice to step back in time to my grandfather’s time. In the 1950s my dad brought home one of these record players with the folding arm and 78 shellac records. They were all red in color.
Apart from the fact that the photo of Caruso looks more like an Aida than a Radames, the voice is of the purest quality and the singing is unique among recorded tenors. Thank you for sharing.
@@tomfroekjaer just imagine it, the videos by This Is Opera and their ilk going like "Voce ingolata", "that darkness is artificial", it's just upsetting
@@LocutusBorgOf The only performance where he intentionally did made his voice darker was when he sang Vecchia zimarra for the bass who had lost his voice. th-cam.com/video/a3cTmEYpBsk/w-d-xo.html
What a voice!

Grazie Tom e grazie al mitico Caruso!
That's amazing! What a voice!
Thank you 💐
Thanks!
You cannot believe the sound fro m this man lungs. So so so lucky
Signature...just as every role he inhabited, prodding & beckoning us to feel!

Caruso’s pianissimo at 4:15! A lesson in mezza voca!
4:08, un trono vicino al sol
You know, I'm starting to become convinced that Caruso, were he alive today, he would be hated by the same people who shit on Kaufmann constantly
Undoubtedly.

@@LocutusBorgOf Nuts if anyone would claim that.
