So great,so good, many thanks from Portici near Neaples who Caruso became to sing in a Theatre when he was not the "Great Caruso".Thanks for this momento Graham.
One of the best Caruso record - this is the 1932 "Re-creation" from 1916 original and certainly one of the best result from the process. It sounds so incredible on this machine. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind comments. EMG gramophones were and still are considered to be the finest acoustic record reproduction instruments ever built. There is no electrical alteration of the original performance recorded on the disc---wind-up spring motor---mechanical soundbox---exponential sound trunking etc. The combination of all these factors which were very carefully and scientifically designed by men of great genius in the nineteen thirties results in a "holographic" and very pure sound.
Thank you very much for the upload. Fortunately, on your player the disc is running at correct speed and pitch (some other transfers on TH-cam are severely distorted because of wrong speed).
Lieber Herr Rankin !
Dear Herr Zimmermann. Thank you so much for your interesting comment and appreciation for which I am most grateful. Unfortunately I do not have the recording you wish to hear but have instituted a search on eBay which may yield results in coming months at which time I shall transfer and post for you. In the meantime here is the performance but not via an EMG gramophone I am afraid. : th-cam.com/video/Zxk8Vxv29fw/w-d-xo.html
