I love it ! remind me the good love songs of the 60's when I was very young in my teens. Nowdays many new songs with strange sounds has changed not the way it was 5 decades ago.
We all do get old, don't we. The song "Happy Together" was the first song I heard get played to death on my local FM stations just after my rock n roll enlightenment and coming of age.

Volman doesn't sing anymore and Kaylan has retired. Nice that they keep the tour going but it's not the Turtles anymore. Glad I saw them many times when it was.
Hi Wink. I'm glad you got to see The Turtles back when you did. I wish I could have seen them then too. But over time, lots of reasons arise that change the lineups. Because of medical issues with Kaylan, I doubt he'll ever tour again. But Volman does sing with Kaylan's sub, Ron Dante, at the end of the show. After decades now, I guess I'm just lucky to be able see any of these classic groups and singers who still perform!
Just saw them in Myrtle Beach and the guy with the bushy hair with the Turtles was either stoned or something was wrong with him. He was acting weird and his jokes were NOT funny at all. Wow,how awkward. Little Anthony was fabulous at 85 and the Cowsills and Classics 4 were amazing! That sax solo by the classics 4 was phenominal.
That was Mark Volman, a founding member of The Turtles. I'm surprised at your take on him though! I've seen the tour several times, and Volman was always quite funny and very entertaining. He's now 76, so I can only think that maybe he wasn't feeling as well as usual. But I'm glad to that you enjoyed the rest of the show! Did The Cowsills come out after the show to meet the fans?
Where are they in september? If I went, I'd be the guy yelling"Love you Susan".. then she'd just wave and disappear from the stage.. my poor heart😀/😍/😮/🤔/😢/😴
Like to many naive young groups of the 1960's, the Turtles were ripped off by their management and record label which led to the groups breakup around 1970. What you see here are the lead singer Howard Kaylan (lead singer) and Mark Volman (primary back up singer), but it appears the other 4 members have been replaced. This a part of a summer tour in the USA featuring The Cowsills, The Turtles, Gary Puckett, The Association, The Buckinghams and The Vogues. They will be in my area August 10th.
Hi! That's actually Ron Dante of The Archies subbing for Howard Kaylan, who hasn't toured with them for several years due to health issues. But don't let that stop you from choosing to go. It's a really great show!
Talking about getting ripped off by their manager: Remember the band "BADFINGER" well, there manager took every dime that band made. they had hits like " _Day After Day,_ _Baby Blue_, _"No Matter What"_ The *Paul McCartney* penned song _"Come & Get it._ and more hit albums. Well, This drove Guitarist " *Pete Ham* " to commit suicide. He hung himself in his garage committed
I was wondering about Jim Yester; saw someone already asked and answered. The Cowsills are amazing always, and Ron Dante is really handling that lead role. This is such a fun show. Maybe some sound and look different, who doesn’t? But if this show doesn’t make you smile, I feel bad for you.
Hi Arlo. Sorry you felt that way. Do you not like this kind of music? Just wondering because I think it's a great show and concept, seeing a lot of these 60s performers all on one stage.
@@RJ-qb4bs Thanks for asking. I have followed this tour off and on for the past decade, maybe even more. It's a shame that the years, age, and health of the artists has pretty much turned this tour into a mere shadow of what it once was. I was actually front row one year when "Flo" handed me the microphone to provide the Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba during their encore performance. Back then they had almost all of the original lead singers and not just the bass player. And they could all still sing. Gary Puckett still sounded good, but no more. I've seen him perform enough to realize his little pauses feigning a "friend" in the audience or someone off stage making him laugh were just covers for when he couldn't remember lyrics or hit the notes. I won't pick apart every featured artist/group on this 2022 tour, but what I watched here was more like a Tribute show. And it was really sad to see what Flo has turned into. He should go home and be with Eddie. Nevertheless, here's my take on any and all bands, tours, etc. that probably should have hung it up years ago: So long as people continue to buy tickets and enjoy their show, I'm happy for them. It's these audiences that are probably the one thing that keeps them from turning into trolls. So God bless them. As for me, watching this was what convinced me not to buy a ticket this year. I'll let my seats go to someone who will enjoy it more than I would.
@@Arlo360-Official Wow! Having Volman (Flo) actually handing you the mike during the show I hope is a cherished memory! And I understand what you're saying. There's a lot of older bands still out there with very few or even just one original member. Foghat, The Marshall Tucker Band, Foreigner, The Doobie Brothers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd come to mind. Sometimes I guess it really comes down to whether you want to see such bands or just remember them as they were. I saw the original Foghat and Foreigner way back when, but have no desire to see their present day bands. But I did go see Lynyrd Skynyrd a few years back because I really wanted to see Gary Rossington perform. As for the Happy Together Tours, it's true some of the performers aren't what they were before. A few can't hit the notes as when they were younger, and members have changed too. The 2022 tour include The Vogues, who have no original members now, but members who played with them over many years before at different times. Would I travel to see Gary Puckett, Mark Lindsay, The Buckinghams, or Chuck Negron at their own shows, no. But because the Happy Together Tour is so different that it includes many performers singing just hit songs back to back, I think it's a fantastic idea and a great experience for those who have never seen it, and most especially for younger people interested in the music. That's most important. Ringo Starr has been doing something similar for a long time too with his All Star Band tours. I've seen the Happy Together Tour three times, and Ringo's All Star Band twice. I don't know specifically why these Happy Together performers continue to perform. It could be that they need to do so financially, or just love doing it. Either way, or both, I'm just very glad that they continue to perform so that everyone who wants to see them can while they still can. I can indeed imagine the joy of someone finally seeing for the first time a group or singer they have longed to see perform because that happened to me. Three Happy Together tours ago I finally got to see, and meet after the show, The Cowsills, one of my most favorite bands! Not the original lineup, as others have passed on, but still a band of family, and wonderful harmonies. If not for the Happy Together Tour, that wouldn't have happened. Arlo, thank you for your thoughts. They're much appreciated. And I hope your next concert will be a great one!
@@RJ-qb4bs If you ever have the chance, don't miss Frankie Valli. He's still performing at probably 95% of what I remember. Also, if you're a fan of Chicago, skip the posers and instead, go see Leonid & Friends. They sound more like the original line up than the posers!
Eddie/Howard will always be the voice of The Turtles. But that band that we all know wouldn't have happened without the addition of Flo/Mark! And seeing Mark perform with the HT tour has been wonderful! And, yes, Puckett still sounds great!
Looks like a great concert but when they called the Vogues on stage, I didn’t see any members of that singing group. I know two of the members have passed on but the remaining two, Chuck and Hugh were not on stage so who were the three individuals that went on stage????
The Vogues' line up has changed many times over the decades. Even ownership of the band's name has changed hands a few times. You can read a good bit of their changing timeline here on the Wikipedia link... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vogues None of the original members are in the band now - Bill Burkette and Don Miller have died. Hugh Geyer retired in late 2012, and Chuck Blasko, as far as I know, still tours with his own band. The trio who perform in the band presently are Troy Elich, Royce Taylor, and Bo Wagner. Elich and Taylor have performed in the band previously, and Wagner has performed with Blasko's band.

@@donaldshaw2627 Yep. That's right. Flo & Eddie are Mark Volman & Howard Kaylan of The Turtles. After Kaylan wasn't able to travel with the Happy Together Tour anymore years ago, Ron Dante stepped in for him.
There comes a time to call it a day on bands from the 60's and 70's and be left with great memories of seeing them first time around. I have refused to go and see bands i have worshipped, and this short clip has proved my point, this is painful. Sorry Flo and Eddie, but i will just keep playing the vinyl albums and stick with my happy memories.
I know and I agree. Wonderful bands , wonderful people.. but .. Of course it’s not the same . Maybe the music plays in the background and with some autographs being signed.
@@francisruggiero8361 Not so much fake as non-original. The band's history is fairly interesting. The 'Career' section offers a look at how their members changed... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vogues
@@RJ-qb4bs I’m very familiar with the evolution of the band and the purchase of it by a now deceased gentleman whose son now runs the band. I am also aware that some years ago the original lead singer and the original tenor re-joined the band . The lead is now deceased and the tenor retired. I spoke to members of the band years ago and always was a fan. But the fact is: No original members similar to the group which calls itself the Dupree.
@@francisruggiero8361 The Duprees. I haven't heard that name in decades, but it rang a bell! So long ago, I had to look them up, and there it was... "You Belong to Me". That opening line, "See the pyramids along the Nile" is why I remember it. Why? I've always wanted to travel Egypt! Thanks for including that reference! Getting back to The Vogues, I know now that the current band doesn't include any original members, and I thank you for letting me know. I've edited a previous reply stating so. I haven't checked specifically, but there must be more than a few older bands out there touring with non-original members, and a lot more with only one, like Foghat, The Temptations, and Foreigner. It's a business, bills have to be paid, and I wish them well. And, of course, the internet can shed light on almost anything these days, who's playing with whom and so on, so one can see if they want to see a certain concert or not. But I would like to think that there are enough of us who like all kinds of classic music, that we can look past the business and personal part, and enjoy a good show from dedicated performers who put on a good show! Howard Kaylan hasn't been able to tour for years now, but Ron Dante has been a wonderful substitute. I understand this situation, and enjoy his inclusion. I only hope that others do, because this tour is so much better than the crap that is out there!

I saw the Happy Together tour this past summer at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. The show was terrific. I finally got to see Professor Mark Volman perform in person after all these years! Although, I wish the legendary Howard Kaylan had also been there. Incidentally, Mr. Kaylan’s autobiography, “Shelled Shock,” is a great read for all rock & roll fans. I’ve seen The Association perform several times over the years. The first time I saw them was during the summer of 1972, at the Schafer Music Festival in Central Park. It was the finest concert I have ever attended. At the Happy Together concert, Del Ramos (brother of the late, great Larry Ramos) and Paul Holland represented The Association at the show. I was sorry that the great Jim Yester was ill and was unable to appear at the concert and that his fellow original Association member, the wonderful Jules Alexander, was not there either. Hopefully, Messrs. Volman, Yester and Alexander will be at the 2023 Happy Together concert.
@@tomgoduto3943 Yes, Howard Kaylan in his autobiography, stated that the great humorous schtick that he and Mark Volman used on-stage, resulted from his parents taking him and his brother as young kids to see the great Louie Prima and his beautiful wife-singer, Keely Smith, at a nightclub performance at Las Vegas. Howard never forgot the great musical and comedic rapport, Louie and Keely demonstrated at that Las Vegas performance and he later used a similar routine in his hilarious on-stage act with his old high school buddy, Mark Volman.
I'm sure one day he will, but as long as Volman is able and willing to tour, I hope he'll continue. He's a very funny guy, and I've enjoyed seeing him!
I have been going to this show for nearly a decade.....This year's was awful. Time to sadly put the "Turtles" (only Volman left1)....they sounded terrible this year. I would put the Cowsills in charge of it from now on
Rich, you are so verry lucky to have seen the tour so many times, which included seeing Howard Kaylan, and perhaps Micky Dolenz too! And I understand what you're saying, but there's a lot of people who have never seen the tour, and though it may not be as good as it once was, it's the only way anyone can see it now. I've seen only the last three tours, and I first went to see it because of The Cowsills, a favorite. When I met them after the show the first two times, I told them I wish they would tour by themselves so they could perform a lot more than just the five songs they play on the HT Tour. Susan was quite impressed that I knew of "Newspaper Blanket", "Mister Flynn", and "Captain Sad..."! I'll still keep going to see the tour each year, if only to see Susan, Bob and Paul perform!
@@RJ-qb4bs I originally went because at the time (10-12 yrs ago?) my daughter pulled the Turtles G hits cd out of my collection and started playing it like crazy.....so having thought of them I looked for a show to bring her to which was a Turtles show....fun too that we got to meet Howard and Mark after the show!....and thn found the Happy Together Tour which my wife and friends have been going to ever since..They were always fun...this years was a let down...I saw Micky Dolenz, Mark Lindsay,The Cowsills, Chuck Negron, the Buckinghams,Mark Farner, Gary Lewis, Mitch Ryder, the Grassroots with the fake lead singer, the Association, Gary Puckett, and many others. The design of the show is good in that 20-30 minutes of many of the acts is plenty as Howard had said. Howard and Mark own the show. They can continue to own it but should take themselves out of it. Unfortunately most of the acts from that time are getting too old.You can now see the model being copied with 70s and 80s bands.
This is all great but, these guys deserve much better than this,. The way the show was put together could've been a lot better...It wasn't very professional. These guys were great in their day! They were always on the radio and TV. They made great music. Sadly some are not with us any more. I just think whoever put the show together could have done a much better job.
He has always goofed off on stage. I agree with you.
Where are they in september? If I went, I'd be the guy yelling"Love you Susan".. then she'd just wave and disappear from the stage.. my poor heart😀/😍/😮/🤔/😢/😴
Currently the last show of the tour is August 29.
@@RJ-qb4bs thanks RJ. Do you have a list of Cowsill engagements? I would love to see them.
Here you go...

Talking about getting ripped off by their manager: Remember the band "BADFINGER" well, there manager took every dime that band made. they had hits like " _Day After Day,_
_Baby Blue_, _"No Matter What"_ The *Paul McCartney* penned song _"Come & Get it._ and more hit albums. Well, This drove Guitarist " *Pete Ham* " to commit suicide. He hung himself in his garage committed
@@RJ-qb4bs Thanks. I could tell that wasn't Kaylan but didn't know who it was.
Ron Dante!!!!!!!!
Anyone know if Howard will be with the tour, summer of 2023?
I can't find anything online that even hints at Kaylan's return to the stage. 🙁
Mark's wardrobe by Dicker and Dicker of Beverly Hills.
He looks like a clown
I was wondering about Jim Yester; saw someone already asked and answered. The Cowsills are amazing always, and Ron Dante is really handling that lead role. This is such a fun show. Maybe some sound and look different, who doesn’t? But if this show doesn’t make you smile, I feel bad for you.
I agree with you completely!
Glad I caught this clip. Convinced me to stay home.
Nevertheless, here's my take on any and all bands, tours, etc. that probably should have hung it up years ago:
So long as people continue to buy tickets and enjoy their show, I'm happy for them.
Flo has always been a also ran for the Turtles. Eddie is the ban. Pucket is a great artist.
You can read a good bit of their changing timeline here on the Wikipedia link...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vogues
None of the original members are in the band now - Bill Burkette and Don Miller have died.
@@RJ-qb4bs thanks for the information and much appreciated.

The Stones shld have retired after the 1989 tour. Now, with Charlie gone (Bill Wyman's 87 this year) they aren't the Stones anymore.
@@kevinsullivan8570 I know what you mean bro I saw the stones in 1978 Chicago fantastic but now not really interested

The Turtles? Where's Howard??
Retired.
What happened to Howard?
He hasn't toured since 2017 because of medical issues.
I guess they sound pretty good !!!
This was my 3rd HTT. I wouldn't miss it for anything! Nothing but hit songs by almost all original singers! (Except for The Vogues.)
@@RJ-qb4bs totally fake Vogues.
Is that Tomas Croucier on bass?
That's Greg Smith, who has played with almost everybody! You can see him on my Ted Nugent videos too!
@@RJ-qb4bs Thanks, never got a good look. Small screen here
Who's the guy singing opposite of Mark Volman? Where's Howard?
That's Ron Dante. He sang lead vocals with The Archies, and has filled in for Howard for several years because of Howard's health issues.

Unfortunate it is. Kaylan retired back in 2017.

Yes, none original. This band has had so many changes in members, and ownership of the name, that it's so confusing!
Who's the guy with the peanuts vest?
That's Mark Volman of The Turtles. And he is hilarious!
@@RJ-qb4bs He didn't appear when they were in town two weeks ago due to COVID.
Where's Jim Yester?
Per the band's website, Yester had COVID and was unable to join this tour, so Paul Holland was asked to substitute.
@@RJ-qb4bs thank you! I really like Jim Yester, hope he’s doing well!
@@kensellers4082 I saw the tour in 2016, no Association. Howard was just hilarious!
@@tomgoduto3943
Yes, Howard Kaylan in his autobiography, stated that the great humorous schtick that he and Mark Volman used on-stage, resulted from his parents taking him and his brother as young kids to see the great Louie Prima and his beautiful wife-singer, Keely Smith, at a nightclub performance at Las Vegas.
Howard never forgot the great musical and comedic rapport, Louie and Keely demonstrated at that Las Vegas performance and he later used a similar routine in his hilarious on-stage act with his old high school buddy, Mark Volman.
Ron is great but Howard is the Turtles
Never missed The Happy Together Tour in Clear Water Fl.

Only Flo, unfortunately. Eddie (Howard Kaylan) doesn't tour any longer.

Everyone was all over the place. Fumbling, walking into each other.
