in my opinion action is 100% the most important factor in a bait but scent does effect catches in both negative and positive ways based on what you scent it with like if you dip it in some random thing you probably wont catch as many fish as it without the scent but a specially formulated scent seems to work really well but i also just like smelling anise and garlic whenever I open a fresh pack of baits even if it doesn't work as well as the Berkeley stuff. Color matters too, some times, matching the natural forage color can be one of the most important things but i also catch fish on chartreuse lures so its not always the case.

Stinky baits definitely work. This summer, I was fishing a stinky senko, and I got snagged twice, but both times, I watched a fish come over and un-snag it. I never caught that fish, but it definitely saved me a buck or two.
I personally believe that scent absolutely matters. Here are a few examples for reasoning:
1: I had a pack of Berkley GULP! Minnows, and I was fishing for Walleye. When I first got them, I was catching all day, because they were fresh and heavily-scented. But, a year later, with the same pack, the scent was almost completely gone, and all I caught in 3 hours was a 6 inch Walleye.
2: I was on a lake called Child's Lake, fishing for Northern Pike. I was there fishing for 5 days. On the first until third day (no scented lures) I caught one small pike. All of a sudden, the next day, I put some scent on the same lure I was using (a Mooselook Wobbler Spoon) and hooked into 4 pike, the biggest one being 22 inches, all caught in around 15 minutes.
Watching a few videos, sent is one of the most important senses bass use, though I don’t know how that effects bait. Great vid brotha God bless✝️🎣

Everytime I’m out fishing I’m in constant communication with God just talking and thanking him for allowing me another day and an another outing on the water! Blessings man! Also question that Shimano reel super dope which model is that? I think that if im to upgrade my reel I’d go with a curado as well just nicer and less saturated and I see that your casting a mile still even throwing weightless does the Shimano help with that or are the lures that dense to where you can still just cast it like a bullet? In my experience, I think scent matters when fishing for small fish (like panfish). Whenever I use the Berkeley gulp minnows I catch fish every cast. But with bass I don’t know, because I just recently started getting into fishing for them.

I watched a video where they temporarily blocked some largemouth bass senses like smell sight etc and took them away from their beds and tracked them to see which one they relied on most to get back to their beds and they came to the conclusion that scent was the most important

Another great vid those baits look so saucy and stinky can’t wait for the next vid and the final product of the yin tin. I think that scented beads work very well because every time I go trout fishing I have my berkley gulp salmon eggs and always catch them. I actually went fishing yesterday and caught two trout on them. It’s on my channel right now you could watch it if you want.

Fisheryin I caught my PB on a zoom superfluke that i sprayed with walmart fish attractant it was around 9 lbs
i love ur content u inspired me to get a bait caster and bass fish but i dont have any baits to use
I think attractants work. Fish are curious by nature. They sense the smells and oils, and check it out. Whether they bite or not is up to the fish. I just recently fished a crystal clear lake and put my bait in front of many bass. They would look at it for a minute and swim off. So that proves just because you’re on the fish they won’t always bite.

Scent can work but it depends on what kind if it's an oil base sent then more then likely the scent will come off before the fish even smell it since oil and water dont mix. But if you get one that can stick to the bait then it could work!

i don't know if a salt bait is considered scented but when went to Canada to fish we had i believe a salted smoke grey shad plastic and the fish loved it i don't know if they still make it i haven't found it in a long time but i thing spending the extra on scented could be worth it

I was throwing a curly tail worm bait and I caught 5 fish then they stopped nightingale that one so I switched it out started to catch more so I think sented works

Scent matters depending on what you’re fishing for. If you’re going for carp smelly bait is usually the way to go. But something like a blue gill won’t care about what it smells like
To be honest I don’t think scent matters because I’ve used scented baits and didn’t catch as many as I have on unscented but amazing video your gonna hit 1 mil soon I feel it
Scent matters for some fish, like bass for locating bait.
I don't know about the other fish.
When I fish for: bluegills/sunfish, carp, turtles. I never use scent because I use fresh bait or live baits.
With bass, you have to use scent on artificial lures.

Scent can matter b/c I have used a jig with no garlic and caught nothing but when I put garlic on the fish would bite it more

I think scent helps when fishing very slow but fishing more active it doesn’t make a big difference

I seem to have more luck when using secnted baits. Caught my biggest crappie last summer on a little gulp minnow and my biggest bass last summer (5.8 lbs) on a chatter bait with a garlic scented trailer
