Just got into ham and studying for my tech. I don’t even know what most of that does, but you got my vote in layout alone. Clean and extremely strategic layout. It sounds amazing.
The whole thing is amazing, but the pinnacle is definitely the final piece. Very well thought out design and the vintage gray look goes well with the other modern stuff.
Tyler, your station is absolutely beautiful. I do have one concern though... I have watched the video several times and I can't find a spec of dust anywhere. My own ham station has lots of dust so if you need some, I'd be glad to send it to you so you can have a real authentic dust-covered ham radio station. Nice to see K1KW - Chuck with a railroad-track straight up-and-down clean 40 meter signal on 40 meters at 3:29 into the video. Thanks for the tour, it looks like you are having fun! Rob W1AEX
Wow..great shack!! Perfect layout. I would suggest buying rubber padding for the desk metal edges. They make a kit for beds with corners if you want. That way you can lean on the desk in your chair and not be cold or hurt forearms. I was looking at the Anan 7000. Love the mixer - great idea. May have look at it again.
Holy mother of dog... that is the most fantastic shaq ever! The stuff dreams are made of... Can you do a video of your antenna? I can only imagine how awesome that monster is!
My loop is tuned to 3.55 Mhz - sure you can figure out why. I actually have used it to work everything up to 6 meters. Like that tuner!! Can I borrow it? - AL7KT
Do you have software to decode many of the digital mode signals you encounter? I imagine the military stuff is encrypted but the ATC stuff might be in cleartext. Are there any digital codecs used by hams for speech transmission in HF or would it be too spectrum inefficient? I was thinking it would be interesting to use the same codecs used to process speech data for cellular phones for HF transmissions.
Hi, Tyler Do you ever use the ANAN 8000 for ESSB or do you only use the TS850 COMBO for this mode?. Great shack and equipment all looks awesom. Thanks for posting I always look forward to your videos
I monitor signals and waveforms both domestic and foreign from around the world, slowly over years getting the best samples of them, I have about 300 samples from around the world. Some are things you would not expect. It will take time to post them all...
Look online for "2U rackmount" or "server" cases. Be careful though, as any case under 4U height will require low profile PCI cards, which will limit you on which graphics cards you can install. 4U cases and above can accept full height PCI cards.
You may be interested in seeing my 'how to measure IMD splatter' video that illustrates the typical 2.8kHz J3E signal occupying 10kHz of bandwidth. Difference here was, the occupied bandwidth was the same as the audio bandwidth. No interference is ever permitted, by anyone regardless.
When do you have time to use all of this equipment?.... are you retired? ... I have two radios in my shack, and I don't have time to use it. I see other guys having even more equipment... I think in some cases it's a hoarding disorder.
I like the clean look. I hate the function. No where to put your legs under those tables, which are mot desks. And the equipment is placed a bit far from the user. Glad it works for you thougj.
Imagine spending tens of thousands of dollars so you can hear old retired fucks yammer on about their rigs in (admittedly remarkable) high quality, nevermind the politics. Just zero interest in that scene. I guess I'm staying a tech 'til the end.

Absolutely stunning! You've given me ideas and goals (and stretch goals...)
Glad you enjoyed the video, I did it fairly fast but it came out well!

Thanks Rob. Well I thought I should start getting some of these type of videos out, because my 200 videos on HF signals are going to take a bit show.
Super cool Shack. I am deliberating between the Delorian Flux capacitor. Or the good old Dr. Who flux capacitor !!Lol..

Nice, think octaves....
the 10 kilohertz lsb transmissions sounds like AM!!!
You mentioned a sky loop. How do you have that antenna set up outside?
280 foot around, vertical loop held by two tall trees on one side, bring feed point near ground.
HI TY. I THOUGHT THE MATCHER AT THE LAST WAS A BIG AMP. HAPPY HAMMIN.
Awesome shack .. Kudos.. Should I win the lottery , which is very unlikely . I will ask for your blue print.. Lol.. Enjoy.. 73"s HS0ZOU.
Clean/ neat / organized/

FL Digi is a good starting point if interested...
that is an awesome keyboard. where did you get that from?
It is called an AZIO it is copper and leather and is back light. Very sexy.
i have a yaesu 857 is there away to put the display on an external screen like you have?
Most likely not, I am using a system dedicated to this, from the PC build on up. I am using an Apache Labs Anan 8000DLE.
Does the Flux capacitor exceed the maximum wattage allowed?
Yes
Wow, nice build. 73's from VK
Thank you for all your comments!
Where do you put your feet? I don't see any place under the benches for your legs.
Nice station gear tho. 73
Lots of room, maybe video can not show it, but the desk are 36 inches deep, the shelf sits back under them....
Excellent "baker"!!! I would like to have something similar. It's much easier for me. 73! See you on the bands! de R6FX
Hi, Tyler Do you ever use the ANAN 8000 for ESSB or do you only use the TS850 COMBO for this mode?. Great shack and equipment all looks awesom. Thanks for posting I always look forward to your videos
Thanks John, sent you email on subject, rarely use TS850 combo now...
Cool flux capacitor
what do you do with all those devices?
I monitor signals and waveforms both domestic and foreign from around the world, slowly over years getting the best samples of them, I have about 300 samples from around the world. Some are things you would not expect. It will take time to post them all...
What software are you running on those monitors?
Open HPSDR stock, probably my computer video card setup...
How is the AT5K modified?
I have a video that shows that if you are interested, it is a large custom 1:1 input choke.
Wow! Nice looking shack. Was the other guy on a flex 5k?
No, he was on a Apache Labs SDR also, an older model of what I am running.
Great station. Where did you get the rack mount case for you computer? I"m looking for similar.

I think New Egg. But you do need to pay attention to form factor of things like power supply and video card...
Big radio station ... 73s HENRIQUE - PY4BHZ

Хороший шек 👍👍👍
How wide is that?? Kind of kills the the band doesn't it.

Very nice station!! I just subbed to your channel. 73...wd0akx
какой то шек китайца.не хватает мигающих светодиодов разного цвета. подскажите ему.без светодиодов как то бедненько смотрится шек.
Crack!

I am several decades off from my 60's so no... Glad you liked the quick video!
holy shit man, great station, be sure to see my channel for more radio fun, 73's
my $20 rtl sdr dongle can do the same stuff, only i'm not an amateur, but a professional
I like the clean look. I hate the function. No where to put your legs under those tables, which are mot desks. And the equipment is placed a bit far from the user. Glad it works for you thougj.
Desks are 3 feet deep and you can slide under them, must be optics on video that make them look 'shallow'!

.Just cannot find any magic in computer Hamming. Call me a geezer and old fashion but if this is the future of Ham Radio I'll collect stamps.
to clinical...

If you take a look at the channel content- this system is now used mainly for signal intelligence and sample monitoring...
awesome
