Thanks for the setup demo. I have the inovato bundle, and added (later) the 3d printed stand and the fan. My second order was (for some reason) duplicated. I got 2 fans and 2 stands for price of 1. I'll give the extras to a fellow club member who owns the hamclock bundle. The instructions on the Hamclock web site are pretty comprehensive, well thought out. This product actually solves a problem for me. I had a Raspberry Pi 400 connected to a second monitor in my station, and was looking for some ham related apps to run on it. The HamClock and Inovato package solves my problem very neatly. And it looks nice in the station.
Excellent! I have mine sitting on the desk next to the monitor and it doesn’t seem to be running hot. I don’t have the fan or the stand for it. So far so good.
Got one about 3 weeks ago (it arrived in North Pole, AK via USPS about 3days after ordering-So congrats on the very fast shipping, they are also very great about informing you almost instantly about the order and what is not shipping/out of stock), being new to Linux have had a few issues. One thing that I would not order again is the mini keyboard, the one I have will not hold charge and is only good for about 5 mins of use and when plugged into the Inovato does not respond. Unfortunately when I ordered mine, they were out to the stands, now that it appears they are in stock I will be ordering the new upgraded stand and Fan as this device runs hot. That being said I have it set up on a 32 in LED TV and love the info it shows, the spot reports are almost instant on the screen (I am a heavy user of FT8), I also can see who is in the same grid as I am what bands they are on and what their spot reports are. Love the additional info on how to change the info displayed. Have been attempting to change this and will be working on this today. Final comment is yes I would do this again but without the mini keyboard, now use a standard keyboard and mouse. In closing this is a great gadget for the ham shack and worth the cost.
Just received my bundle and it appears he stopped using the rechargeable keyboard, My keyboard has 2 AAA batteries and works perfect. Glad he corrected the problem as I'd rather have replaceable batteries in devices like this. Nice addition to the shack N5MSY
Nice video, Chris. I have been eyeing this for a while now. At first I held back due to performance but for the cost it can’t be beat. Will order when they come available. All the best, 73 de KI5HXM
Thanks for the video, Chris. I received my HamClock device on Monday, so it is very new to me. Some of the things you pointed out were very useful. I think this unit needs time for exploration, so that the full potential for its use can be fully understood. I think given time, I will enjoy playing around with this. Once again, thanks for the useful video, Chris. 73 de Geoff (G4SQJ).
I have come close to ordering this - twice now. Two things stop me: 1- postage from USA to Australia, makes is cheaper to buy a Raspberry Pi. 2- HDMI is good, but my monitor only takes Displayport. So the cost of a new monitor also needs to be factored in. These problems won't affect everyone. IF they don't apply to you, buying this product is a good choice.
K2CJB de W6LG, Hi Chris, Thanks for the kind words. I wrote a long message. Bumped the mouse and all was erased. I hate it when that happens. Let's chat at some time about the Ham Clock. I have version 3.0 and 3.01. They do not start the same way yours does. I am not sure why. Also, OBS can be useful to share the screen for a TH-cam video. Also I use and have used seveal video capture devices that convert HDMI to USB. I am on a new powerful medication that started today. Chemo starts again January 3rd. That will run until probably May. In the past, each session of chemo was followed by a ride in an ambulance to the ER in guarded condition. And that is why I have had a few months off of chemo. 73, Jim Heath W6LG Ham Radio Elmer licensed in 1964
Thanks so much for your comments Jim! I’m familiar with OBS but didn’t even think to try to record the video that way. Next time for sure! More importantly, I’ll keep you in prayer as you continue in your chemotherapy. Again, thank you for checking in! Best 73 de K2CJB
Nice! I setup Hamclock last year on a Raspberry Pi 400 which is the all in one SBC in a keyboard. Just play with it and it will become easy to figure out. It looks like creators of HamClock have added more features since the last one I downloaded and installed. I have the Inovato computer but I haven't added the HamClock to it yet. Thanks for sharing. Kevin KA0KAE
It does a lot more, I just ordered one for other linux ham apps that come with it, they may not have been out when this video was done, once I get comfortable with it I may do a video?
I got that about 4 months ago. You will find it needs to be rebooted every few days for updates. My version was just the quattro. I get my raspberry pi 5 tomorrow and will be moving everything over to that.
Got one after watching Jim’s W6LG video. Can’t get live spots and psk reporter working. But your setup of page 2 with the info from HRD WA9PIE cluster should help. I watched your video to see if your live spots started to change from zeros, but they didn’t during the video. Hopefully that was the answer. Thanks, Mike WA1MAD
I think Live Spots is part of WSPR. I wrongly thought it was the DX cluster. It’s not. DX cluster only shows up as a selection for the right two panes. Kinda weird they have it set up that way. When I looked at the selections available in those panes, I saw the DX cluster. I selected it there and it works. Hope that helps!
i have this hooked up to my tv, it is full screen when i first start it, but after i shut off the tv and turn it back on the ham clock screen is very small, would you know where I would o to set a setting?
Click at the top of the boxes at the top of the screen. You can then change what information you want to see scrolled through. The weather data is your local weather. I have mine set up so that it shows the current track of the ISS and when it will be visible to use the repeater.
In the top left, where it has you personal info, click on the padel lock icon, so you don't inadvertantly move your orange dot. Second day with mine, having fun. KG6YVD

Yeah the keyboard isn’t so great…especially for older eyes! The display does look cool though!

@@k2cjbradio Older eyes and older Fingers!!
Great Video! Waiting for them to catch up so I can order one! Looking forward to playing with it!
I have two of the Quatro's. Nice little computers for what they do. I'm going to use this with a little 10" monitor in my shack.
My shack space is limited so I may have to go with a small monitor as well.
Nice video, Chris. I have been eyeing this for a while now. At first I held back due to performance but for the cost it can’t be beat. Will order when they come available. All the best, 73 de KI5HXM
Waiting on delivery now...thanks for the vid!

That's a cool device! Thanks for the video Chris!

You can use an HDMi to DP adapter.
Love mine! Easily configured to my wants and needs.
I bought two of those computers when they first came out, they are very handy in my shack. 73

Thanks! I did find a manual for it online so I’ll noodle with it following the directions. 😂
Hey, I have the same robot in my ham shack........funny......Thanks for the video...
One caution. At least the early Quadra’s would reformat back to factory image if you boot them with no display connected.
It does a lot more, I just ordered one for other linux ham apps that come with it, they may not have been out when this video was done, once I get comfortable with it I may do a video?
Definitely!! Thanks!!
for this I use old tablets on intel atom. Installed debian and hamclock runs smoothly
From one Chris to another. Great video. Loved it so much I ordered on lol. Nice setup. 73 KB2AT
Excellent! 73 Chris from Chris!
@k2cjbradio Chris. How do u get a DX cluster going? I use log4om as logging not sure how that connects or not? Still figuring mine out. Got it today
@k2cjbradio is there a way to turn off? Or do u leave on always?
happy thanksgiving belated Chris!
Thanks!!

MUF map is great ( maximum usable frequency)
I purchased just unit w/o keyboard. I wonder if I can temporarily use my wireless keyboard (normally used for my desktop)instead?
Great video thanks I ordered one and subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! I really appreciate it!
Great video, but the QRZ coordinates are not always correct. Mine aren't at least and are about 28 miles off !
I somehow blew right past the internet connection login screen. Can I get back to it somehow? Thanks
I wanted to order it but then I saw the postage costs for Italy are the same as the product
On startup, you don't have to add all of your lat and long info.....just enter your grid square, and those two fields auto fill.
Thanks Happy Holidays 73
Thanks!!
i DONT KNOW IF THEY ARE STILL IN BUISNES, BECAUSE ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND STILL OUT OF STOCK??? i DONT KNOW.
I ordered 3 days ago and received it today
just got mine in last week

Why Inovato dont send to europe? 😢
Looks cool!
i have this hooked up to my tv, it is full screen when i first start it, but after i shut off the tv and turn it back on the ham clock screen is very small, would you know where I would o to set a setting?
Good question. Have you exited completely out and started over again? The manual is here: www.clearskyinstitute.com/ham/HamClock/HamClockKey.pdf
thank you

I see nowhere to connect it to WiFi. I don't have an icon at the top corner
Also, download the stand if you have a 3D printer and print it yourself
still out of stock a year latter. couple days and it will be 2025.
In the top left, where it has you personal info, click on the padel lock icon, so you don't inadvertantly move your orange dot. Second day with mine, having fun. KG6YVD
Thanks for the heads up!
Your video made sense! Thank u!!
