Back in the day when you had topps, upper deck and fleer ultra you could land nice stuff not that way anymore. No one crying but high price product has same autos anyways.

Flippers and breakers have ruined this hobby. I cant find anything either at retail locations. It makes me want to just give up.

I remember when kids used to be able to collect cards. Now their parents have to take out a second mortgage to afford a pack.
You can still get retail packs for decent prices at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. And they will be mostly base and inserts just like when I was a kid. But, if you want stuff with guaranteed autos, patches, etc then you will have to pay. If you want to do it to just build a set or collect favorite teams, players, etc then you are better off buying retail packs. If you are looking to invest with the chances of hitting a $10k+ card (like that orange wave Bayron) then you have to spend money and take a chance.
Or have a nice career pitching MLB!
Chad Rhodes the problem with that is that the “super collectors” have people that go to the Walmart’s, Targets and wherever else’s to purchase as many packs as they can. Thus eliminating or greatly reducing the chance of someone (kids or adults) being able to find retail product unless they relentlessly stalk their local retailer for fresh stock. I’ve looked myself quite a few times at my local Walmart and Target for some of the retail releases and found 0 product.

All the Lora's that have sold are OBOs so no true price on him yet. One base auto is up to 375 with 18hrs left so safe to assume it could get up to 500/600+ There's a few BINs/obo at 800 sitting there so prob won't go past that

As a Texas Ranger fan I certainly hope the value of the cards equates to future performance. But as big a Ranger fan as I am, I would never spend that money for one of their prospects, they have notoriously gone for high ceiling players that never develop. I hope whoever is paying $2K for Lora card is making a good investment but I would bet money that in 5 years they would be happy to unload it for $10

Its like the tulip bulb crash in the Netherlands way back in 1800s. People were paying enormous amounts for tulip bulbs because some people put worth into. Then people came to senses. Look into it if u don't bielive. These cards are a loss 90% of time. And when u do come out ahead its not nowhere near what u hav in the hobby. Not counting its a buisness to them. Even after that the cost are too high. Just like 90s the next crash coming is gonna be epic. No One will really watch many videos. It will die like last time. But this will be last time people falling for manufacturered collectables. If economy gets a lil rough the hobby first to suffer. Non essentials

I wish we could get back to the 80s early 90s or pictures or just as valuable as position players such as Roger Clemens David cone Pedro Martinez mariana rivera and I can even go back further since pictures as catfish Hunter Willie stargell it's really upsetting pictures don't get the value unless they're like super Superstars and even that's a crap shoot I'll use Steven strasburg as my example he was one of the highest collected cards when he first came out through his arm out the first year had Tommy John surgery he's still a solid pitcher but pictures and current day hobbyist collections or collectors it's sad to not see them bring value like great pictures like Roger Clemens etc

If there are case hits, does it make sense to buy boxes from multiple sellers to increase your odds of a sick pull?
