nice man glad to hear it running makes me more confident with my swap, I went ahead because I'm running out of time and kept the dpfi for now will switch to mpfi in the future and will be following your videos to make sure I'm getting it right good job bud
Thanks Man! No worries if you took a solid day and had a few friends to help you can get it done, I am only doing 2 hours a night a few times a week plus filming adds time! Ill have an over view at the end of the week to make peoples swaps easier.
I pretty much had this exact same setup in my 99 EX. I don't know if something was wrong once it warmed up it would have the tendency to stall if rpm's weren't high enough then had a hard time starting after dying would usually have to coast start or let it cool down so I changed it all back to y8.
I have a similar thing going on. I have a y8 head on a y7 in my 89 dx. just about to attempt all this. I had it running in an SI shell previously. Using a chipped p28. I hate the wiring part, I think itll kill me.
Spork Motorsports I only got rid of the si shell because it was a beater. Got it for free. The dx is in much much better shape. That's the reason for the switch.
Camera is just another factor it does make it longer though, if I just put it together without a camera trying to show whats going on it would take half the time
@@WideOpenThrottleGarage I just got done turning odb2 motor into an odb1 H22 motor it was a little pain in the ass the bigger problem was Finding shielded wire by the Foot because I kept everything shielded
Right now I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to disable the immobilizer in my 2000 Honda Prelude ECU I've been on it for like a month with oscilloscopes and Signal generators got it all set up in my house
BRENDAJASON1 just start getting parts for it and keep it obd0, find a d16a6 intake throttle body injectors and fuel rail & ecu. Then you'll only have to add the 5 wires for the injectors.
Spork Motorsports I had a 95 civic years ago I pulled most of the stuff off of it the engine intake the all the upper stuff wiring the p06 auto Ecu wanting to put in a crx it’s been stilling in garage for years just havnt done the challenge

This is going to be a fun build. I really want to see this car compete in vtec club.
That's the Goal! I'm a little behind schedule since I work multiple jobs, but I am getting real close now!

Shit my 88’ ef is doing the same thing you ever find a solution?
glad you didn't manage to get it started before installing the cooling system, never run an engine dry.
Yeap doesn't hurt
great build
leopaul evans thanks
Hey man do you have a legit wiring diagram for your distributor. And was your car already mpfi when you put that head on?
I did the mpfi swap it was the dpfi swap and I built my own harness for the swap

Boner Garage Productions its not to bad just have to try.... but I got a new chip for my p28 and its made a big difference.
Boner Garage Productions the si shell would make it easier by have the 4 injectors. But its all worth it at the end.

making it clean
How did you deal with the timing, the d16 cam gear on the d15 block should be one tooth off. How did you compensate?
Boosted Fool never had an issue lined up the timing marks with the valve cover like factory and got it running.
Congrats!
Thanks, Nice to have it running! It was a fun swap to show! Now some drive time!
