As someone who came to Overwatch AFTER Valorant, your opinions about the game having "too much information with no intuition that can help you with consistency" was EXACTLY how I felt about Overwatch. Learning any hero shooter for the first time feels that way to me unless they're within a game genre that I'm already familiar with.

getting adjusted to OW was okay for me simply due to the distinction. Almost no one looks similar, even down to posture, so it got easy fairly quickly to recognize what characters had which abilities, and it helped that every ability is unique, not just X characters twist on the same thing, even if their are a lot of characters and abilities to memorize. Starting Valorant, that felt... much less clear. from even a mild distance, most agents looked the same to me, and abilities felt less distinctive. Valo's saving grace in that regard is that the basic gameplay is at least fairly obvious, and you aren't usually concerned with half a dozen other people at the same time.

I've been playing OW for years and trying to improve at the shooter aspects of it. Recently I've been invited to play Halo Infinite with some friends, so I tried it out. I'm definitely better at aiming than most other people in the lobbies, but I don't know any of the maps, or the weapons and where they spawn. Give me a sniper rifle and I can start popping off, but most of the time I feel like I'm spraying bullets into someone's head and not getting kills because of shield health. It's amazing how much game knowledge plays a part, and raw aiming mechanics don't matter as much as you'd think.

I’ve been playing Halo for years but only got into multiplayer in the last year or so and I completely agree, Map knowledge is absolutely the most important part of Halo.

Valorant is just a heavily stripped down version of Siege, combined with the most boring Overwatch-esque powers in the world. Siege on the other hand is so much more complex and rewarding. It's got even better qualities than just staring at a wall intensely, it's you staring at a wall after looking at cameras knowing that they're most likely going to bomb their way through that wall. But then you get shot from below cuz someone droned you out. But at least you survived cuz you can actually take a handful of body shots instead of just fucking 2 from most guns.
Also, the clutches can be so much more fucking rewarding. Because it's not just hitting your shots, but you making a genuinely smart, well informed play. Even better if you're in a 2v5 and you're win was based off god-tier communication. Winning in that game can be one of the most rewarding experiences in all games imo. I need to get back into it now

I'd say Valorant is my favorite game of the hero shooter genre since it still rewards players for being good as an individual. You can still win a 1v5 if you're good enough unlike OW where it's essentially game over if even half your team is gone.

Loved the video! I'm an Overwatch player who has transferred more into Valorant and dabbled in Apex so this was a great watch. Its interesting that you were going for an ace because for me, I get way more serotonin from getting a 1 vs 3 or 1 vs 4 clutch than getting an ace where maybe the opponent has a weak buy or you got the first few kills and the rest are easy because you're up numbers. I also tend to play the more passive agents like Astra and Cypher though so perhaps thats why I value clutches more. Ofc getting a 1 vs 5 ace clutch ticks both boxes.
Still kinda enjoy Overwatch casually but its no where near its peak, and completely agree with your Apex take, great gunplay and easily accessible but the amount of times i either get wiped out immediately or loot/run around for 10 mins and then die in 10 seconds really drove me away from the game (and battle royales in general).

I think one thing that helped me get into Valorant (besides starting like 1-2 months after the BETA was done) with the abilties is that I had jumped into the game strait from League of Legends so my brain was used to holding like 400+ abilties that could look different but do similar things or something like that.

It's quite a bit different from these three games, but I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on Hunt: Showdown. It's recently had a big surge in concurrent players and it's in a solid state right now. Similar to Valorant, it's got long periods of not much going on, but there's tension as you listen for audio and visual cues and try not to let your guard down as you track down the boss targets.

Now I’m mostly playing Valorant. I agree with your closing statements, Overwatch definitely has the highest peak in my mind, nothing beats the rush of having a full team of SIX in perfect sync an everyone playing their best hopped up on adrenaline,,, but the peak was long ago and it’s been a while since I’ve had a rush from overwatch. All the hopping from game to game has told me about myself is that overwatch will always be a part of why I play games today, even if it’s not overwatch thag im playing

The thing that makes valorant more attractive to me compared to apex and OW is that it isn't an FPS game, it's a statistic game disguised as an FPS. It's all about using the tools you have to improve your odds at a gunfight so you make hard ones easy af. For example, playing for trades with teammates is huge. Fight a guy by yourself and it's a 50/50 W/L, when playing for trades properly, 80% of the time you die your teammate gets the kill which is a W, so playing with a mate for trades WELL is only an L 20% of the time on average. It's all about the little things like that that add up to round wins and by extension, game wins

My aim is bad but I like making good decisions surprising, the enemies, reading what they're doing, giving info to my teammates even though they basically never do the same getting better at using my util and things like that. I'm also improving my aim but it's very slow progress if I'm playing against good players I just have no chance. But I'll still do my best to try and win :)

I only played Overwatch 1 until Ana was released (mostly playing Reinhard and Roadhog myself) and Apex until Octane was released (playing Gibraltar and Caustic myself) and to be honest, I stopped playing these mostly because I felt like not having any impact at all, even after playing more DD-characters like Reaper or Torbjörn in OW and Lifeline or Wraith in Apex.
What I like a lot towards Valorant is the fact, that, no matter what role you play, even if you play a controller or sentinel, you still have that feeling of having an actual impact, because you do. You have the same guns and "rules" applied to you as every duelist or initiator has. Your abilities might differ, but you can make a very impressive play on a Viper as well as you can on a Jett. I never felt like that on OW or Apex, but maybe that's just me.

    • @aazeenhussainali786
      @aazeenhussainali786 หลายเดือนก่อน

CSGO is much more "mechanically hard" that means a global elite aim is like 10 to 15 times better than a radiant
Meanwhile Valorant is "strategically hard" because every agent is different and their abilities can literally change the course of round.
Over-all a global elite can easily reach platinum rank in valorant with raw mechanics.

I went from OW2 into Valorant and quit after around 1 Week - it's too hard to learn all the different heroes and so on. As you said, with reading an essay i just don't have the time for it. I just want to play couple of hours under the week and maybe longer on weekend but not reading first and then play. And i tried to learn by playing the game but - i won't say its impossible - but it's quiet near of impossible, the time you have 2 invest into the learning by playing progress is rough and i couldn't effort it so Valorant is in my eyes not friendly for new players.
For OW2 i can't really give an opinion cuz i played since OW1 - from friends i know its "fast" :D Everyone say OW is a "fast" game but they get into it after couple of days by just playing so i would rate Apex > OW2 > Valorant in the friendly for new players

good video and most of its is true, especialy the ending... Buuutttt... i have no idea what you were going on about at the start. Like yea, Val can be confusing, but its not nearly as cofusing as OW. I dont play OW that much, but i to this day remember how frustrating and unfair it feels when theyre is more than five abilities on my screen at once and i havent seen half of them in a game, just because there is so many heroes that just dont get played cause META. In Val all the characters see a lot of play. I just think that that portion was realy harsh and could be just copypasted for both of the other games.

You should do paladins next, I liked your critiques and acknowledgement of all aspects of the games in this 7 days series I’d love to see you do paladins.

If you are a new player who wants to create content about a game with so many agents, maps and modes in just 7 days, it will be difficult and frustrating but your average newcomer to the game will enjoy plethora of option. I remember playing Valorant and everything I did not knew about the game became the "Amazing" aspect for me. Ofcourse, over the time I learned everything without even trying because I was not on a deadline and it didn't feel like punishment. So I think, an average newb will love the game.

the only problem with valorant is the gubplay is as deep as a puddle u just stop point click with basically all the guns and the amount of obnoxious abilities take away from that sometimes and make it slightly inconsistent i think csgo is way better smgs and pistols u can move around and be less accurate but u can still be affective but the ars and snipers u stand still and click heads its way more intersting
