Which suggestion is best to level your playing field?

Besides the volley to see who goes first. A fun way to see who has option of first shot or hammer in doubles, is to collectively decide which player is closest to death. Or just be the player to say that and see who everyone looks at first. It’s great. 🍻🍻

Closest to death... is that agism?

@@TraceyBoards first of all, you’re ageism . Second it does not mean who is oldest. It’s who is in the worst shape / condition. It’s a great time . Especially if everyone locks on to someone right away.

By the way, when are you going to make a video of your work with the boards, here in Spain they are not available and it would be a great help for our small community, to have something like this from you because here the few of us who play have no way to get a good board or tokens, let alone the right accessories and waxes, like the rubber bumpers or the transparent scoring tubes for the games. Thank you very much for your videos and contributions, Greetings from Seville, Spain.

Excellent suggestions and a great way to encourage people to play better players - one of the best ways to better your play. I have heard of one more way, a little more complex but also a sneaky way to hone any arithmetic skills (hey, we all had to calculate change on a dollar or figure out the sales tax at one time or another). Anyway this leveling play changes the scoring of the centre and rings. It's still 20-15-10-5 for the weaker player, but 10-7-5-3 (or some such) for the stronger. If that's not metric enough for you I suppose you could conversely add 5 i.e. 25-20-15-10 instead for the flickestro nuevo (sounds better than 'weaker' doesn't it?)
By the way, why does the board on your T-shirt have that fade on your left. Is it a trick of the light, something from the seconds rack or perhaps signify 'quarter past crokinole'. Just letting you know that people pay attention to how you present ... and yes, it's always warm and scary at the same time. Loved the sports cliches piece you did previously. Your straight man was spot-on credible and you were a solid doogie. Cheers.

Most folks around us don't know the game, so we are often teaching newbies. It's common for newbies to occasionally mis-flick, and the disc barely moves. That's no fun for anyone. For those games we use a mulligan variant: any "whiff" shot that doesn't even make it to the 5/10 line (and doesn't touch anything) is an automatic do-over.

Man, I caught a few of the forbidden phrases expressing your excitement for Crokinole, Jeremy, but I gather there are some colorful ones I need to learn. 😂
This video is super helpful, by the way. I am not great, but I’m introducing the game to complete newbies now that some of us are fully vaccinated. The suggestions in this video will definitely make it more fun for all of us.

I promise this was not an attack on you (or any other single person) LOL. It was an over the top exaggeration and honestly what I have heard even more than that is people will say "noone could beat my grandpa, NOBODY!" Which is way cooler to talk about how awesome your grandpa is :-)
