I have been listening to NF for a while now. This I do know; beef and drama sells, right. There is something about the human spirit that enjoys "mess". It is a failed attempt to hold your breath indefinitely. NF makes it clear that he is a Christian that raps; not a Christian Rapper. I love all of his symbolism as well as his "bars". He really is relatable. He simply chooses not to cuss, not because he doesn't know how.... I hope that he is rewarded for his passion by this double edged music industry; but if not, his passion will always trump this system. By the way; I believe the seven letter word is "freedom". I Miss the Days was a very Christian sounding track. Gospel choir. No Excuses sounds like a trap song. Trauma is a ballad with piano. Time sounds like a radio pop song. And then of course NF is a rapper so the rest of the tracks fit into that genre.

When I was at my lowest I tried to kill myself a couple of times, but there were many times per month that I considered it, even preparing to do it. I can't say that I can trust myself to always make the right decisions. I like to think I do more often than not. But, temptation is real, sometimes the right decision isn't necessarily obvious at that moment, and obviously emotions can and will cloud your judgement sometimes. But, I can say that I strive towards being someone trustworthy, understanding, moral, and who owns up to my mistakes. So, yes I do trust myself. But, I didn't always. Movie scene: Man is standing in the rain on a crowded street. Everything is in slow motion around him. He starts to think about all of his mistakes and is dwelling on his regrets. We see flashes of all the things that are eating at him. When the tempo picks up he snaps out of his daze and starts searching for a place to be alone. The background starts to move faster and begins to blur. Through his chaotic vision one thing comes in to crystal clear view and it triggers his dark thoughts again. Finally, towards the end of the song he finds some kind of refuge in a darkened alley. Then he sees a broken mirror leaning against a dumpster and the song fades as he looks at his broken image. I just realized that the reason that Let Me Go has such a great swing to it is because it's the only song on the album with a 6/8 time signature... Sorry, I sing in a progressive metal band and notice shit like this.... A 6/8 time signature is very rare in rap music. 4-4 is generally the time signature used. The fact that he used a 6/8 time signature is just crazy and makes me respect him even more as a musician.

I’m not sure if he did or not, but he’s not been afraid to call out industry giants before (Drake in Statement). Another line people picked up on is: “Shoot you out the sky, like your punch lines, you are not landing. Gun jamming.” The Ringer (the song where Em called out NF) was on the album Kamikaze (Kamikaze pilots were big in WWII). So people are thinking NF is calling him out here, basically saying - you try to take me on, I’ll shoot all you got down. Another line was “I been patiently waiting, please, I think it’s my turn”. EM and 50 cent did a song together by that name. And, in a song on his Recovery album, Eminem said he keeps trying to pass the torch but people in the game keep dropping it. If you listen to the flow and rhyme scheme in the last couple of verse of Returns, then listen to the Ringer: NF matches Em’s flow pretty dang well. I don’t know if this is NF calling him out like in a diss, but I wouldn’t be surprised if NF is saying, “Why you calling me out? I’m here and I’m not taking that. You keep trying to pass the torch, well, I think it’s my turn to carry it.” Honestly, I think NF is one of the only rappers in the game right now who could go toe to toe with Eminem and not get obliterated. He’d probably take some hits, but it wouldn’t be career ending. Just my thoughts.

1st, I did the movie thing...you hit the nail on the head! 2nd...that is far fetched that it was a diss. EM said in an interview that if he was gonna diss somebody he ain't backing off from saying their name. I honestly feel like NF would do the same thing...I really think he was letting EVERYONE know not to step up to him or go at him. Neither would just diss someone and not say the name. I personally do not think that was a diss...VERY far fetched imo!

I just realized that the reason that Let Me Go has such a great swing to it is because it's the only song on the album with a 6/8 time signature... Sorry, I sing in a progressive metal band and notice shit like this.... A 6/8 time signature is very rare in rap music. 4-4 is generally the time signature used. The fact that he used a 6/8 time signature is just crazy and makes me respect him even more as a musician.

I’m not sure if he did or not, but he’s not been afraid to call out industry giants before (Drake in Statement). Another line people picked up on is: “Shoot you out the sky, like your punch lines, you are not landing. Gun jamming.” The Ringer (the song where Em called out NF) was on the album Kamikaze (Kamikaze pilots were big in WWII). So people are thinking NF is calling him out here, basically saying - you try to take me on, I’ll shoot all you got down.
Another line was “I been patiently waiting, please, I think it’s my turn”. EM and 50 cent did a song together by that name. And, in a song on his Recovery album, Eminem said he keeps trying to pass the torch but people in the game keep dropping it. If you listen to the flow and rhyme scheme in the last couple of verse of Returns, then listen to the Ringer: NF matches Em’s flow pretty dang well. I don’t know if this is NF calling him out like in a diss, but I wouldn’t be surprised if NF is saying, “Why you calling me out? I’m here and I’m not taking that. You keep trying to pass the torch, well, I think it’s my turn to carry it.” Honestly, I think NF is one of the only rappers in the game right now who could go toe to toe with Eminem and not get obliterated. He’d probably take some hits, but it wouldn’t be career ending. Just my thoughts.
