I’ve never thought of making the door and frame before the building but it really makes sense and that lock looks really good strong and aesthetically pleasing nice job Matt 👍🏻
That's a really solid looking door. I really hope it works - my experience with T&G panels like that is that they aren't very stable in dimensions widthways. Yours is so solidly fixed with those dowels that it can't go anywhere - so I hope that won't result in any splitting along the length.
Raise you saw blade so that the bottom of the gullets just clear the top surface of the wood. This will improve the sawdust clearance in the kerf and make the saw motor work a little easier.
Hi Matt, that was truly a excellent build, looking forward to the next shed build, black is the 'new' pink, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍
Good solid build there Matt, Looking forward to the rest of the build, after all it wouldn't be Badger Workshop without a shed build every six months or so - not a criticism we love it ! 😉 It's a great idea to make much of the components before building the main structure, especially as they can be made inside if the weather is not conducive ! I do hope you're going to make your detailed plan available on your Etsy store - work of art ! 😂
You can never have enough sheds. I have a small workshop as well Matt, it’s a right royal pain in the asterisk having to constantly move stuff around and then move it back again…Then move it again. The yanks don’t know how lucky they are.
The yanks really do make me laugh. One of them has a shop on his "home workshop" channel that is, I kid you not, about the size of my local [sizeable] builders merchant. On this same channel he has a space inside the shop where they park their van and it always makes me laugh that the space allocated to park their van is about twice the size of my entire little shed.
Can you let me know how you learnt the complex plan drawing process. 😂 Nice idea pre building. It will be interesting to see how this speeds up the build
I'd like to build a shed/workshop but have no idea of the costs of materials. My neighbour recently paid £2.5k for a decent 10x12 shed with no windows. That's way beyond my budget but is it much cheaper to DIY? Is wood expensive?
Lock I used

Hinges used

That tin of black barn paint is never ending
I finally used it up
@@BadgerworkshopDon’t tell us this! Have it as a running joke that it’s just got “a little bit left” every video.
I bought a tin from seeing you use it so much. I’m painting all the risers on my stairs black and they look ace.
Good solid door Matt. I was surprised you didn't install any diagonal stiles to prevent it racking in the long term
Just thought the same thing. Should be easy enough to retrofit if it becomes a problem.
A year 😮, thats went by quick
Brilliant and very straight forward...I like this method !!!
Great start
First time I’ve evervseen a building built around a door. 😊 you always make it look so easy.
Thank you
You're really good at painting, you can tell you really enjoy it 😅

Thank you very much
Nice work

Hi Matt, Truly neat and very professional !! Onya mate !
That black barn door paint looks good! I was wondering, Matt: no diagonal braces?
Great built it's a nice looking door!
Thank you

Thank you. Next part will be up soon
Well done!
Thank you
Great to see the start of tge storage shed Matt. We're doing a similar thing at a daughter's home. All the best mate. 👍. Don
Thank you Don
I built something similar and the expansion blew it apart.

@@triplex86 I’ve just come back from the states. It’s an incredible country, absolutely vast.
Very neat practical project. Your commentary was ver appreciated. Will you show a video regarding your new shed windows?
Thank you. I did not film the windows
You are very skilled - that was a really solid looking door. Looking forward to your new shed build.
Thank you
👍👍👍.Thanks Matt
Nice looking door. Looking forward to the shed build :)
Thank you
Belle porte ,bien réalisée et bien expliquée, à bientôt salut Jeannot ⚒😉
Thank you
Nice bulid !!!
Thank you
Nice work but did I detect a little editing mistake at 5:20 the last piece of tongue and groove was wrong way round 😀
One question. Why custom build a door you have to duck to get through? You could have made it taller.
No expansion in your tongue and groove?
Can you let me know how you learnt the complex plan drawing process. 😂
Nice idea pre building. It will be interesting to see how this speeds up the build
It took years of practice
😂 killer 5 ⭐️
@@Badgerworkshop still better than mine

It’s not really cheaper to do it yourself but you get what you want
You should just install the door upright half way down the garden to confuse the neighbours.
They are confused enough by me
“ What’s the scores on the doors ? “. “ good game , good game “ 😉
Haha
👏🏼🌟🙏🏼
“But what about the cross-bracing…” - did want to disappoint if no one commented about it 😀
You are the first but I’m sure there will be more
😂
That door needs diagonal braces or it's going to sag over time.
