Our expectations are too high. This is international football. You can't just mix it up playing different systems every game in order to look pretty - it solves nothing. Make a gameplan, determine form/fit players, then tweak for the knockouts. This is the stage where ingame management takes over. Plan A, Plan B. TAA at RB needs someone with pace to cover him when he goes forward, that is where Walker comes in. I’d play a back 4 with Gomez at LB, Geuhi and Walker at CB, and TAA at RB. Gomez filled in brilliantly for Robbo earlier in the season, so we know he can play LB.

Our expectations are too high. This is international football. You can't just mix it up playing different systems every game in order to look pretty - it solves nothing. Make a gameplan, determine form/fit players, then tweak for the knockouts. This is the stage where ingame management takes over. Plan A, Plan B. Stick to the plans, and get the fittest players on the pitch. Period.

I’d argue he’s the nations best player and has been for a few years(at his position, I’d say he ranks higher than Kane would at his position compared to other world players around the world) . He can defend miles better than TAA and his attacking isn’t quite as good but still elite. As as Liverpool fan I’d love for Trent to play, but he just doesn’t fit. Unless you’d make a back 5 where he’s on the right and Walker is in the middle, there’s just no dropping Walker for me.
