Nobody and No issue was safe from George's sharp sense of reality.... Telling it like it really is was his specialty.

I'm happy to have turned you on to my 2nd favorite humorist (#1 Mark Twain) George was a One Of A Kind Honest Realist with a brilliant memory for his routines. Great choice.

The days of George Carlin and Richard Pryor were the best days of Comedy. These guys would make me laugh so hard my gut would hurt. Today's comedians like Kevin Hart barely make me chuckle.

George Carlin was equal parts, philosopher, teacher, social commentator, and comedian. Every routine, whether it was hilarious or not, we’re always thought-provoking.

Carlin set himself apart from other comedians with his brilliant commentary on language and his philosophic take on even the most trivial stuff. He made you think while you laughed your ass off.

Check out his brief to the National Press Club that he gave back in '99. It's about an hour long but worth it.

If an airline was smart enought when George was alive, they would have had him record this for the actual safety lecture. I'm sure everyone would be listening.

The FAA actually changed the term near Miss to near hit because of this bit.

Due to High Winds, I got stuck in "O'Hare" airport for 19.5 hours. I sat across from the "McDonalds". I noticed the Day Shift were most all White employees, at 4 pm the shift changed to most all black employees, at 12 am midnight the shift changed to most Asian employees and they did a massive clean-up getting ready for the next day. I couldn't understand anything they were saying to each other. It appeared all the employees doing janitor work outside the McDonalds (in Airport) were mostly Hispanics. Everybody seemed to work well together with that system.... I thought.... Oh Well. whatever works to get the jobs done.

Except at he end of his life, when he was mostly just angry and not funny, he was a comedy genius!
the first time i heard him, i found an album (LP Vinyl) called "occupation foole"
i must have played it till the ridges in the groves were ground flat by the needle

JM, you could do Carlin routines two per day for a month and not be close to his total body of hilariously realistic humor. My Fav.... "The Ten Commandments"

My dad had alot of thoughts like Carlin's. Without the F word. He didn't approve of profanity in front of his family. He was big enough to back it up. Mostly he was easy going but he had a sarcastic, ornery as he**, personality.

Comedians today do not understand the difference between funny and insult. They are not funny just offensive.

You get nothing but the unfiltered truth with Carlin. There may be some exaggeration for the sake of comedic purposes, but all in all he tells it like it is.

Flying was totally different, 40 years ago my job required a lot of flying. Including flying without heat in below 0 weather. It was crazy times. They were called stewardess & stewards but regular flyers & the crews themselves called them 'Stews' man or woman. & We were smoking & drinking champagne out of real glass, before the plane finished boarding. We were allowed in the cockpit during boarding or mid-flight, we talked with the pilot & copilot. & The pilots often came back in the cabin & had conversations with his 'guests'.
