"Mark's friend thought he was the underdog" Mark's friend was being sarcastic. Omni Man is portrayed as the Superman of this world, the strongest hero.
Mark: "Hit me! I'm strong enough!" Emme: "Cue Britney Spear's..." Me: "I am stroooongeeer than yeeeeesterdaaay!" Emme: "Hit me, baby, one more time." Me: "Hit me, baby, one more tiiiime. I was about to say that..." 🥲
19:11 Ah yes The iconic moment when EVERY first time viewer with absolutely no knowledge of the comics(and who wrote it) realize "oh crap this show may not be what I expected after all." 😂
i think more people voted for invincible over dr who because theres only like 15-20 episodes of invincible vs the 875 episodes of dr who... would take a couple years of watching that to complete it all
The "hero's" of this show, like with the Boys, has parallels with DC characters. Omni Man is Superman, Darkwing is Batman, the Mauler woman is Wonder Woman, etc. The ahow is really good, though gory.
If she's reacting to animated shows she's gotta react to the DCAU it's the peak of comic book adaptations. It doesn't get better than Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited. I mean Batman and Superman started it all without them there would be no superhero genre.
Funnily enough, as much as people compare the two, Invincible is actually the polar opposite of the boys. Garth Ennis, who made The Boys, HATES superheroes on principle. He's extremely cynical and believes the concept of superheroes is childish and doesn't hold up to scrutiny. He just doesn't believe that people are good enough to not abuse their power if they were given the kind of abilities superheroes have, so he wrote a comic that was about a bunch of superheroes being irredeemable pieces of shit. Honestly, the original comic of The Boys is just... bad. It's just dripping with condescending spite from top to bottom, and feels like something that was made out of hate. The show MASSIVELY improves on the source material by making it far more focused on the commentaries about corporate greed, celebrity worship, and political corruption, but the original is just openly mean-spirited. Robert Kirkman, who made Invincible (and The Walking Dead, btw), LOVES superheroes, and has described Invincible as a love letter to the genre as a whole. He made it brutally violent because he believes that Superheroes (a traditionally 'immature' genre with a pretty black-and-white view on who the 'good guys' and 'bad guys' are) can stand up to scrutiny and darker, more grey morality. This series was made specifically to allow the common tropes and themes of superheroes to be challenged by less cut-and-dry scenarios because Kirkman believes that there's something meaningful to be said about heroism, morality, and using one's abilities selflessly. On the surface, both shows are 'Superheroes but brutal/dark/violent and Superman is actually evil', but in general concept, they couldn't be more different if they tried.
This is a really great way to start the series and establish its world and tone. It starts as a fairly standard superhero story with more realistic physics, but then the ending completely flips everything on its head
The heroes are equivalent to DC characters Superman, Wonder Woman , The Flash, Batman, Martian Man Hunter. The ImmortalI think is based on Randal Savage, but he is a villain in DC. That’s just the ones I’m pretty sure of.
I love that you posted here on Yt. You must also know that there will be so many fewer comments if you state in your pinned comment that you're up to Ep 5 on patreon. yes promote your patreon but we can't give you insight into what may be going on, on whatever show/movie you're watching.
I've watched Invincible a few times, but watching this reaction is the first time I saw Mark crash landing and wondered if if was an homage to the Greatest American Hero (which could be a cool reaction if you ever decide to do reactions to older shows).
i am LOVING this show so far! patreon is a month ahead so episode 5 reaction was just posted there! www.patreon.com/emmereacts
Check out Gen V next
"Mark's friend thought he was the underdog" Mark's friend was being sarcastic. Omni Man is portrayed as the Superman of this world, the strongest hero.
Omniman is the underdog exactly like the Yankees are.
I don't think she even knows who Superman is, didn't mention him was
Another insane series!!! Let’s go!
Also Emme I wanted to applaud you for your reaction to the Boys. You handled it much better than most reactors
"But at least it's not live action, it's a little bit easier to stomach" Hold that though for the end of the season
All aboard!!
Oh boy...
Emme’s innocence: 😦
That was gone long ago with The Boys…
Fun fact: the Guardians of the Globe were voiced by former cast members of The Walking Dead! Lol
That’s partly because Invincible was created by Robert Kirkman, who also created The Walking Dead comic book
I knew that
The name “Amber” is notorious for getting mixed up with “Marcy”.
Really? Very interesting
@@dekcraft262 I was kidding
@@Etticos. lol im not native so i wouldn't know xD
As someone who isn’t into Dr Who, I’m glad I can watch Invincible now and not wait for it
Mark: "Hit me! I'm strong enough!"
Emme: "Cue Britney Spear's..."
Me: "I am stroooongeeer than yeeeeesterdaaay!"
Emme: "Hit me, baby, one more time."
Me: "Hit me, baby, one more tiiiime. I was about to say that..." 🥲
LMAO, that would work as well

Aww, I was looking forward to hearing you call Amber “Marcy” for like six more episodes.
"The Void" gave this comment a 'thumbs up'!

She doesn't even know them dawg 💀
Marks friend thought he was the underdog. Lol. You have Sheldon coopers appreciation of sarcasm I see.

New to the channel and just wanna say keep up the good work
Thank you!
LET'S GOOOOO!! Invincible and Gravity Falls are my two favorite animated shows of all time. JK Simmons supremacy!
It's more like a pet 😂😂😂
"is this gonna be the boys level" LOL it goes so far beyond . particularly with how much more powerful omni man is than home lander.

Just in time to catch up before the rest of season 2 drop 🫡
Yep, the one I’ve been looking forward too for Emma to react to😁😁
So glad to see this reaction

I hope Doctor Who will be considered later too
doctor who i started on patreon last week! so will be up on youtube in about a month :D
😆 I think this is the first time I've heard a TH-camr tell me not to get arrested. It's pretty good advice, but still.

The fish man is based on Aquaman (pretty loosely)
Emme's reacting to "Invincible"??? FINALLY!!!! Great job Emme!
Woooooww this is gonna be fun
Going back and forth between Gravity Falls and Invincible now that J.K Simmons entered into the former. That’s gotta be fun
Love your channel❤❤❤❤❤
Yes! Glad you’re watching this :)
Awesome! Another show I will love watching your reactions to after Firefly!
Ohhhh emme is in for this one 😂😂

It’s already started on my channel!
I've watched Invincible a few times, but watching this reaction is the first time I saw Mark crash landing and wondered if if was an homage to the Greatest American Hero (which could be a cool reaction if you ever decide to do reactions to older shows).
I like The Greatest American Hero too, but let's not try to sabotage her channel. Believe it or not...
It was really different when it first came out, which may It great 👍
FINALLYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
Just wondering where Emme will start with Who when she does.
I’ve already started it on patreon so it will be on youtube in about a month!
Yay!
Hehehehe... this is gonna be good. 😃
0:05 Well, it might not be for you, if you have to ask that question...
The most likely target demographic for this show is 18-25 y.o. Men.
Hope you watch The Bear after you finish Invincible since it's a shorter series before you get into something like Dr. Who.
You should also watch Gen V since you've already watched The Boys it's a spinoff and it's great definitely worth a watch
Finally
Watch superman and batman lol can tell you didn't get the parallels. Justice league cartoon is amazing too
Is there shows your planning to watch besides this
First Super hero shows?
Oh sweetheart, you have Got to go back to the beginning of the DC legend, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES !
Goat
2nd season? please?
You sound like little Mss Fortune
Emmie is So Cute wow 😭
Loki season 2 watch please❤️
Shell watch it when she gets to that stage of the mcu
Dr Who is long, and not everyone likes British humor. I love it, so maybe you can also consider watching "The IT Crowd" (IT = Information Technology)
People picked this over Doctor Who??
To be fair, invincible is much less of a time commitment. So it sort of makes sense.
