    I bought the X in 2022 (it had all the improvements by then), $45k, added Fulcrum 2" Lift (excellent, $3k), 32" Maxxis Razor Tyres with 18x9 +20 rims (looks tough, $3k), roller cover ($1.3k), GME UHF, ($450) Interior light ($30), Drivers Grab handle ($120), and I just use Sports mode for cruise including when towing my 2T camper, no issues maintaining 115kmh. For lane keep, just enable lane centring, it steers for you and eliminated the jerking, had that on for 14 months now and never think about it its such an improvement.

      @@AussieDadz So are you saying the Cannon X is a better car than the XSR?

    • @AussieDadz
      @AussieDadz  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @peterscrenci3252 hey mate. I've driven both extensively. Both great cars but both have flaws. I guess all cars do, however for me, I couldn't get past a couple issues that impacted me and what I wanted and needed from my car. I pick up my next gen raptor next week and will no doubt find issues also but it seems to suit my needs better mate. In short, if the xsr, had reliable cruise control (up and down hill) and also didn't have the tech issues that it did, I would never have parted with it. I can't help but think, gwm are only a couple more utes away from nailing the perfect Aussie ute at old school prices, which will really cause issues for the bigger brands. Cheers mate

      @@AussieDadz thanks for the feedback, mate. I've watched quite a few reviews & finding there are a lot of things GWM, as minor as it is DAB radio is another one. I'm heading towards the Isuzu D-Max but also thinking of the MUX instead. I'm not a tradie just love the dual cabs, but MUX is appealing to me given a few extras compared to the D-Max like more lumbar seats & 20" wheels. Cheers mate keep up the good work, enjoyed your video.

  • @grayfoxv
    @grayfoxv 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I have a Tank 300 which is the same platform as these Cannons, it's a great car but yeah the cruise control is really annoying, mostly when it comes to cornering. If there's even a slight corner the car can slow down by 10-15kms which is really dangerous, especially on a highway with people behind you. I understand if it's a sharp corner but even a slight bend in the road it reduces the speed even though it would be more than capable of taking the corner at the set speed.

  • @ThatGuy-ur5cn

    Apparently putting the driving mode in power can help cruise control to hold the gears longer and be more aggressive on the downshift up hills

    I test drove one a few weeks ago. It drove quite well.
    One thing I couldn't get past was the 360 camera comes on every time you slow to 15kmph. The button would turn it off, but every time you sped up slowed again, it would come back on.
    It locks you out of using the screen when the camera is on, too.
    Couldn't even turn the radio down.

    What about the front diff lock, how much would that be to put on a vanta or even an X-model. It is the off-road gear where the extra money goes and I have not found anywhere where i can install those crucial off-road hardware for around 10k or less

    • @AussieDadz
      @AussieDadz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Of course the front difflock is the exception......Im not certain the benefits of the front diff lock outweigh the other issues for the extended price, but as I always say, this is just my opinion, and I certainly encourage you to buy one if it's the right fit for you. Overall the car is a winner for its price, when compared to the competition, however in reflection, I would have grabbed the vanta- just my opinion. I appreciate the feedback.

      @user-fi5iq5ws5i
      Check out savage teck online and youll def be surprised at how much you can retrofit and save yourself. The vanta is AWD. Exclude the front diff, and you've really only got a few other cosmetic mods....the tank mode is negligible, same as the crawl mode, which can be achieved almost aswell through the throttle controller at 234 bucks fitted. Honestly though bud if front diff is a sticking point for you then def the xsr is a solid buy, but if it's not, I'd crack on with the vanta. I costed up the mods retrofitted for much less than 12k. Good luck with it all mate

    IMO the vehicles are great value, except for the engine. Am waiting for the 2024 model or Tank 400 if it drops in Oz. Depends on if they upgrade the engine though. Just isnt enough power for the size of it. Honestly I am thinking about just getting a Subaru Outback instead or maybe a Ford Everest if I can justify the cost for the base model lol.
