    Good morning Chad! You give a great rundown on the new MyRide. I hope it works well a long time!

    When you started mowing it reminded me of an old Gilligan’s Island episode where they eat some beets and move at “hyper speed” like you were mowing! If only you could do the work that fast! The my ride would be a great addition to those types of mowers. Will look forward to the comparison video: you need to have one of the kids shoot the video and have a mowing Olympics between you and Jennifer!!!

      That's awesome! So delivery day was today, right? I hope you enjoy it. It's currently raining here - with rain for the next 5 days. That's not the weather I was hoping for this week when I wanted to try out the mower lots more!

      @@PurpleCollarLife Weather forecasting is not a science in South Central Kentucky. It was supposed to rain all day but it held off for several hours so I got to test drive it for an hour. I finally engaged the blades and mowed the level areas. I’ll save the hills for another day. The 23 horsepower engine has dissuaded me from getting a 25 horsepower farm tractor. I’m going to bump up to the 37 hp tractor that can run big boy implements.

    I wonder when they'll come out with the first zero turn with a CAB. And A/C. 😊 This Timecutter will do anything except make you lunch and they may do that one day too! Very nice machine! Thank you for sharing, Chad!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've seen aftermarket cabs for zero turn mowers. I even saw one that had air conditioning - but it really cuts into the HP of the machine (from the comments I've read). I have noticed that the faster you go - the cooler the air is. :)

    Nice! I got the 54" non-myride havoc (all black) version. Love it! Good to finally have some more videos on YT about these mowers. When I bought mine, there were literally only 3 true review videos and a handful of dealer promo videos. I love the 5" setting for cutting pastures and the 5 gal gas tank. Dont love the difficult to see gas level. You should totally check out my video on adding an hourmeter though. No need to buy the overpriced Toro branded one!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! I've actually watched the videos on your channel about your new machine. I do like the look of that Havoc paint scheme. You're right - there aren't many videos about these new models. I have made almost 50 about the previous generation Toro zero turn mowers. I'm looking forward to using this Timecutter a lot and making more content about these new machines.
      I'm totally going to order one of those hour meters for my mower! I just need to make sure that the linked one is the same as what mine will use. I haven't seen that plug end anywhere yet - but I didn't pop up the control panel on mine yet either.

    • @fieldfilmz
      @fieldfilmz หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PurpleCollarLife Glad to be able to help out a fellow Purple collar ite! I originally found your channel a year ago when I first started looking at the Toro Timecutters. It's easy to find the plug if you flip the seat up. Not sure how to do this on the my-ride version, but I'm sure it can be done. The nice thing about the one I linked to is that is has both style plugs, so it should be universal. That's why I made the video, because some older timecutters used a different plug than the new Max's. This one being universal should allow for installation on either.

    Do you do your own servicing of the hydro gear transmission? Do you know if the new one has a serviceable transmission? If so, I notice it does not have an external fluid expansion/fill tank. I'm wondering how you would top off/check the fluid level.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ve never serviced the hydraulic transmission on a zero turn. I believe these transmissions are sealed - but I’m not 100% positive. I used to change out fluid and filters on the old hydrostatic tractors (like my Cub Cadet 149). But I don’t think that type of service is possible on these residential zero turn mowers.

      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The suspension is really impressive. Our yard is pretty bumpy in spots, and the MyRide seat smooths it right out for me. I can look down and see the whole machine shaking across the bumps - but my chariot seat doesn't move. :)

    We took delivery on the new 2024 model Timecutter Max Myride with the recycler kit installed three weeks ago.
    Our first zero-turn and we really like it..
    The biggest downfall in my book is the lack of being able to tell the fuel level. Not even a sight glass.

    we have had this mower for a couple of weeks and have mowed our 2.9 acres with it.

      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. I noticed too - that the fuel level is very difficult to know, in that large tank under the seat. I wish there was a gauge, or even a cutout somewhere that let you see how much gas was in the tank. I'll be talking more about that in an upcoming video.

    • @PurpleCollarLife

      Congratulations! I'm really enjoying the smooth ride with the MyRide system. Jennifer mowed with the new machine yesterday - she said she couldn't believe the difference between it and our previous machine (no MyRide system on that one).
      I'd say just take it slow until you get used to the controls. I was used to the adjustable speed control on the previous Timecutter.
      Pros - smooth ride, great Kawasaki engine. Cons - too pretty to get dirty! :)

  • @316jd140
    @316jd140 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The only reason why most manufacturers use fabricated decks for their commercial mowers is that they do not have a big enough press to stamp the heavier metal. Therefore they weld the decks, but they only use the thicker gauge metal on the sides and a thinner gauge metal on the top. The only manufacturer that has the press to stamp thicker metal for their commercial mowers is John Deere. Their decks are stamped from 7 gauge metal, which means it's not only the sides but the top. The fabricated decks have 7 or 8 gauge on the sides and 10 or 11 gauge on the top. The drawbacks to fabricated decks is that where the top is welded to the sides leaves a place for grass to stick better leading to corrosion. Stamped decks have rounded corners where the sides meets the top and are less prone to corrode in that area.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very interesting. I was unaware that is the case. I've had both types of decks - including some John Deere decks. And I've always had longer life (and less rust) in the fabricated decks. But you're right - they do accumulate more grass because they're not aerodynamic in the sharp corners.

    Kawasaki has a recall out on that engine used in your model along with several other brands due to a chance of overheating and catching fire and causing burns to the operator. I suggest you have your engine checked out to be safe

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great info! I didn't realize that. I did look up the recall just now, and went out to check the serial number and model number of my Kawasaki engine. This model does have some recalls, but my serial number isn't on the list. It appears that it is mostly models built in 2023. I believe my machine was built in 2024, and likely has a 2024 Kawasaki engine. Thanks for letting me know to check it!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I thought maybe the backs would be too aggressive - but so far, not at all. I spin less with them, which actually tears the yard up less.

  • @bradh74
    @bradh74 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I hope that mower works out for you! One of the mechanics on here says that Toro went down hill lately (in a nutshell) because they sent everything to China to be produced now. All the snow blowers have Chinese engines and now everything is supposed to have went there as well. Having a Kawasaki engine would make me feel better, they have been on higher end equipment for years. (usually they have better mufflers to keep them quiet and last longer) Some of the higher end contractor grade equipment have Kawasaki Kohler and Yamaha it really depends on how much you spend but a homeowner doesn't need a $20,000 zero turn to mow their grass. Some wives would divorce you for less than that!

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got less than 5 hours on this new one - but I'm really impressed with the smooth ride (thanks to the MyRide suspension) and those rear tires!
      I agree - most of us don't need to spend crazy money on a zero turn mower to use at our homes. And yes- if I spent even $10,000 on one - I'm positive it would be a long discussion. I'd likely need to live out in the pole barn WITH that new mower for quite some time. :)
