Spor's Anachronic track is teased since the Caligo 2015 Sketchbook Mix, so it's final form took probably over 6 years in the making. Also there is a second fun fact about THIS tune, is that the whole concept audio like visio and in a larger sense but less specifically, the whole EP, is a mixture of the Cyberpunk sound, along with Japanese influences, obviously as we could clearly see some brief Gundam moments visually speaking, BUT what is fun about this, is that he might actually sampled a very small part of his previous 'Cyberpunk' track's intro, this is clearly an anachronic reference, you can find back that ambient sound and this Spor-ey growl bass in it, and this is during the spectrogram visuals right when the track starts and you see the first waveforms, but it's not over, if you pay attention to both tracks, you can hear so many similitudes between these two, like the pattern of kicks and snares once again, the general feel of the tune is not only a wink-wink to the old Spor and neurofunk sound, but also a litteral anachronism for both that, and the concept of a music you would find in a dystopian tale, or set in a cyberpunk/sci-fi universe. 3. This ID is well known amongst the Community as the Instagram FL studio track, I can first assure you this current mix of the track has evolved a lot as well. Now things get interesting as few people know this, but the intro might be an updated and sampled version of a well known but old track called 'Out of Focus', that was a collaboration with Phace, this track had two versions, one of those versions which is the unreleased of the two, has been used at two times during different mixes, the original one being a mix called 'The Chosen One' with Spor, the second and most recent one being the 2016 mau5trap guest mix with Spor too. georgeharja To be honest not that much mate, we tend to forget he multitask 3 different personas, we are not too far off a debut album for Seventh Stitch as well. The last record to date was from 2018, prior to this was a 2016 EP. So yeah it’s not too much for a quality EP in a sea of copy carbon tunes or lacking creativity. That’s the price to pay.

I got into Jon as a young 20 something year old through Feed Me, but honestly if he wanted to put that to the side indefinitely and go back to Spor I would have no problem with that.

I think we don’t talk enough about that Mind Like Water track but this one is sooo technical, I like this so much that very ode to the old dnb style and producers like obviously Photek. So refreshing to hear that kinda track, also huge props to Jon Gooch for using his flute skills for the first time in a released track.
Escaptive the chinese flute influences you hear in that track is him performing he probably recorded it in the process, then he added it as a sample yeah probably. That’s definetly him performing tho that’s for sure.
Escaptive I will add to be clear, that everything for this EP was made by Jon. EVERYTHING! The artwork design, the motion design, the productions and mastering, the guitars, the analogs, the flute, the singing, and that’s gonna even be released on HIS label Sotto Voce. There is not one element not made by him. Even the fuckin Serum skin is made by him that you see toward the end 😂 Unless it’s some use of samples but I’m not talking about minimalist things. Globally that’s everything done by Jon. :) That’s very rare that we can say of an artist that he is complete. So enjoy mate!

People go crazy over Nosia and think they're the best, and while Jon was on hiatus as Spor, they were a pretty good replacement, but can anyone actually make bass music sound so fuckin slick and gritty, at the same time? Caligo was good, but this feels like an even better version of the old Spor i know and love. Same energy and enthusiasm as when he started out. Thought the beginning of this was alright (when i caught it last night), but it just kept going and the visuals and audio just kept getting better and better. So excited that he's back and all the effort he puts into his work shows right here. Love you, man
Ahhh as much as I love Spor and he is my all time favourite and the one that introduced me to DnB, NOISIA are there too ex-aequo if not a tiny bit better sound design wise with Spor. Outer Edges is way too phenomenal. Like… really pushing boundaries in terms of clarity and sound design. But creatively speaking I will always prefer more Spor. But yeah NOISIA are godlike.
@@jordanmeliani4621 I think they definitely have that image of being the producer's producers, but i just haven't been really impressed by them for a little while... They went all Jump Up, and while it can be done well, i just didn't think it was done well. There's also three of them, so it's not as hard to be prolific, than it is for Jon on his own. I'd say i'm more impressed, on a more consistent basis with Jon. The fact that he's able to communicate such good musicality, with near sonic perfection, is why he beats them, for me. I was a fan of Outer Edges too, but it took a few play throughs and some time. Like i said, the energy and enthusiasm in Jon's music is quite evident as well. Where as Noisia just kind of sounds like a production wankfest at times. I'd rather listen to Alon Mor's Oscelot, than Noisia & Mefjus's recent track. Just ain't got as much soul/feeling...

People go crazy over Nosia and think they're the best, and while Jon was on hiatus as Spor, they were a pretty good replacement, but can anyone actually make bass music sound so fuckin slick and gritty, at the same time? Caligo was good, but this feels like an even better version of the old Spor i know and love. Same energy and enthusiasm as when he started out. Thought the beginning of this was alright (when i caught it last night), but it just kept going and the visuals and audio just kept getting better and better. So excited that he's back and all the effort he puts into his work shows right here. Love you, man
Ahhh as much as I love Spor and he is my all time favourite and the one that introduced me to DnB, NOISIA are there too ex-aequo if not a tiny bit better sound design wise with Spor.
Outer Edges is way too phenomenal.
Like… really pushing boundaries in terms of clarity and sound design.
But creatively speaking I will always prefer more Spor.
But yeah NOISIA are godlike.
@@jordanmeliani4621 I think they definitely have that image of being the producer's producers, but i just haven't been really impressed by them for a little while...
They went all Jump Up, and while it can be done well, i just didn't think it was done well. There's also three of them, so it's not as hard to be prolific, than it is for Jon on his own. I'd say i'm more impressed, on a more consistent basis with Jon. The fact that he's able to communicate such good musicality, with near sonic perfection, is why he beats them, for me. I was a fan of Outer Edges too, but it took a few play throughs and some time. Like i said, the energy and enthusiasm in Jon's music is quite evident as well. Where as Noisia just kind of sounds like a production wankfest at times. I'd rather listen to Alon Mor's Oscelot, than Noisia & Mefjus's recent track. Just ain't got as much soul/feeling...
