    You had your eyes closed throughout the video...the visual is a huge part of the Pink Floyd experience! Watch it again...I was lucky enough to have seen their show at Soldier Field in Chicago during their Animals tour and everyone who left that show was "changed"...people were calm and quiet subdued and amazed at what we all had just witnessed. To see Pink Floyd should be on everyone's bucket list.

    I was fortunate enough to have been at this concert. The whole audience was in awe due to this solo. Even in the parking lot after the concert everyone was still in awe from what we just experienced. David Gilmour is a MASTER at making his guitar speak to your soul.

    Many British bands in the 1960s were very into old school black blues they heard on records imported from the U.S.
    A co-founder of the band, Syd Barrett, as a homage named it after his two favorite blues musicians; Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

    There is nothing more musically beautiful than David Gilmour singing, well except David Gilmour playing his guitar....Listening to Pink Floyd is an emotional rollercoaster hell they still give me goosebumps and I been listening since before I was born as Dark Side of the Moon came out in 1973 and I was born in 1974....Glad you enjoyed it Fatboy....AHIMSA!!!!

  • @Alphaom_

    Heck yeah! This song and this solo blows me away. How do I not get emotional from this song? It is an emotional rollercoaser. David Gilmour puts the soul in solo. If I don't have goosebumps and tears after hearing this, then I don't have a pulse.

    Bravo Fatboy, bravo. Love how you feel the music. Such a positive trait. Pink Floyd is perfect for a guy like you. You will not be disappointed with them. Keep using the headphones for them when doing these videos. You made me a subscriber. If you want to feel some great music, may I suggest listening to studio version of shine on you crazy diamond,all parts, 1 to 9. It is broken up into 2 songs. About 25 minutes long combined. This is some heavy eyes closing, listening, Pink Floyd music.

    Well you started with arguably their apex, at least as far as their guitar goes. Good thing, there's still dozens of other great Pink Floyd songs out there.
    Here the order you should listen to the albums
    (1) Dark Side of the Moon
    (2) Wish You Were Here
    (3) Animals
    (4) The Wall
    After those 4, there's still several other albums to explore, but those were the big 4 albums released over a decade from the early 70s to early 80s

    • @glennbrock6560
      @glennbrock6560 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is exactly right. Pink Floyd utimately is a statement of being free and humane, and their musical evolution is an amazing part of this journey. The only possible difference for this list is Maybe do the song Echoes as a stand alone, and then the albums. And after that , the division bell is very underrated and should be listened to after you have done these. Definitely not before.

    • @lucaspayne7222
      @lucaspayne7222 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glennbrock6560I think if he does Echoes by itself... I'd suggest the performance they did at Pompeii in the 70s in the empty Colosseum. However, if not that, I'd suggest just going ahead and doing the full Meddle album that contains Echoes.

    Don't apologize for crying or not watching the video! ANY song that makes you close your eyes and makes you become part of it to where you ride each note up and down and brings you to tears is special! It was obvious this song and solo did that. This song does it to me too and I had tears in my eyes watching your journey thru it.

    There's another great guitar outro of this song on Gilmour's "Live At Pompeii" gig done in 2016, 22 years after Pulse (th-cam.com/video/LTseTg48568/w-d-xo.html). But as with others, I'd say the song "Echoes" (from "Meddle"), "The Dark Side Of The Moon", "Wish You Were Here", and "Animals", are their top albums (others would add "The Wall" too).

    I can tell you are feeling the music! Bravo! There is a story behind this song, btw. You should react to some of their thematic albums starting with Dark Side Of The Moon. The songs flow together so you cannot pause it (much). Following that, you should do Wish You Were Here album. Great reaction, thanks!

    Quite how ANYONE could give this performance a thumbs down is beyond me. David Gilmore is no dramatic Heavy Metal Thrasher. He is restrained, melodic delicate and tuneful. In my opinion there are two genuinely great guitarists, both very different but equally as good......
    Eric Clapton and David Gilmore!

    Don't go back to their first albums, it's way too far back (1960's) and their final style had not matured then. Listen to Dark Side first, Then Wish You Were Here -> Animals -> and Echo's (from Meddle) and then maybe Division Bell...... Listen to the first three as an album (start to finish) because the band meant them as a single continuous concept. Pink Floyd will touch your soul!
