Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. They are well know for amazing live shows, live at pompeii is a sedate one off live that was an acoustic masterpiece in how they set up the p.a, it sounds awesome considering how long ago it was done.
Every song of this nearly 3-hour concert is this incredible!!! Every song they do during this concert is at least equivalent to almost any other groups Grand finale and no this is not the final song! The final song which has an unbelievable epic light show sound it's faster it is "Run like Hell" and you guys should definitely react to that one if you want to see something more epic than this song if that's possible!!!
It's not the last song!! Every song during a Pink Floyd concert is that amazing!!! Also the same exact venue in earls Court in London that seats almost 20,000 sold out 15 nights in a row!!
Pink Floyd's my number 1, started getting in to reaction channels because of them, mainly this vid. Love them because they're different. Then I discovered Ren because of the reaction channels, and love him because he's different. Chuffed to see you cover both of them... Btw, guarantee you 100%, their track 'Money' is going to be something you both love. If you ever react to that, make sure it's the album version please. Especially considering that question you stopped it for could easily have waited. You are asking someone who is none the wiser than you are. Strike 1 😉It wasn't the outro or the intro, it was the 2nd last, they went in to 'Run Like Hell' from this one which was the finale.

I saw this show on tour. There was no opening act, they opened for themselves and did a first set, followed by an intermission and then another set. This song was about halfway thru the 2nd set. Every song had its own unique stage and light show performance. Its still the most amazing show I've ever seen. I was fortunate and ended up with the entire 8th row center. I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all. When the “Disco Ball’ was uncovered and the lights hit it….. WHAT IS HAPPENING was what I said….The entire crowd was held in a trace and our minds totally blown by what we witnessed.
I saw this show live... Not the night of filming sadly, but after the night of the collapsing section of seats. This is a real treat. Thank you. If you fancy experiencing The Wall in full, i recommend the live version, Roger Waters, live in Berlin. Its a real treat. Especially Jerry Halls appearance.
SINCE YOU INTERUPTED SOLO TWICE , I DID CHECKOUT SONG YOU MENTIONED AND IT WAS STOLEN NOT SAMPLED BECAUSE NO COPYRIGHT CLEARANCE FROM WRITER GILMOUR NOR THE LABEL WAS REQUESTED.. LETS SEE WHAT THE RECORD LABEL WILL SAY AND THEY WILL CHECK GILMOUR.....
So comfortably numb is half way through the album The Wall which was originally a film staring Bob Geldof which is a film about Greed and depression. You will not be surprised I'm another Pink Floyd and Ren fan. 😁
Nope. "The Wall" album is the original work. "The Wall" is first and foremost the greatest concept album of all time. The movie released some years later is a somewhat mediocre Hollywood adaptation of the original double album many consider to be a masterpiece.
It's hard to react to Pink Floyd because most people just zone in and check out for the length of the song. Their sound is beautiful. That being said...the chemistry between you two is just so much fun. My new favorite channel.
Well guys you did not disappoint. I enjoyed your reaction like all the ones I watched so far. They where huge and still are. Very, skilled musicians and very innovative at the time. Try Money for a another one. Keep it up, cheers from Berlin 👍🍀😎
The Pulse concerts and tour of 1994 was Pink Floyd's last. Lead vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour just released a new solo album. Now at age 78, he'll be embarking on a two c 14:51 ity tour of the US this month... New York and LA. Probably the last time to see this living legend in person. And yes, he still finishes with "Comfortably Numb".
Yeah lads been waiting for this. Thank you for covering this boys. This was the second to last song. Run like hell was the last one. They have a long list of legendary tunes. Try run like hell from the same pulse concert
' Coming Back To Life' , 'On The Turning Away', 'Dogs Of War' 'Another Brick In The Wall', etc etc etc...These types of requests will build your viewers ;) Lotta PF fans that enjoy others finding them...btw, the lights shift throughout an entire Floyd concert
There are three original members of Pink Floyd in this concert: Lead guitraist and singer, David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist, Richard Wright.
Proper GOATs. From this same concert, The Great Gig in the Sky is "hold the phone" unique. No spoilers why. Studio tracks, I'd highly recommend Time, as poignant today as recorded in 70's and the absolutely superb Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Love that you covered this chaps.
I'm on a bus watching this. I think every passenger heard my loud intake of breath when you almost paused😂
Hey Einstein, just so you know the "intro" is the start of the song and the "outro" is the ending.
I saw them the night after they filmed this.
FYI. David Gilmour was 48 in this video.
Younger than Jimmy Fallon, Mario Lopez. I don't know what the hell these guys are talking about.
This is not the last song of that concert. The last song was RUN LIKE HELL, visually literally a firework.
was the last song of the second set. There was an encore, that ended the show, "Run Like Hell", that is truly truly epic.
They pull out ALL the stops for that one 💗
I was counting minutes to money game 3, this is a stab in my back! :)
Several THOUSAND apologies! It will drop though... We won't make you wait too long
@@thedreadinitpodcast love pink floyd though, so may you be forgiven
@@JK67real Yeah, It's a confusing mix of emotions! Excited disappointment!?
@@JK67real ditto!
@@izzybca lol we aim to confuse 😂
It wasn't even a sensible question. 🙄
I'm going to repent for my sins 😢
@@SIAHTHAGOD You should have listened to the King, cos even a stopped clock is right twice a day. 😉
You know what James.... We like you! 😁
@@thedreadinitpodcast That got you a subscribe mate. Now don't do it again! 😏
Talks all the way thru this classic, last time i listen to you guys
the encore song was "Run Like Hell" and it is specatcular
So comfortably numb is half way through the album The Wall which was originally a film staring Bob Geldof which is a film about Greed and depression. You will not be surprised I'm another Pink Floyd and Ren fan. 😁
Nope. "The Wall" album is the original work. "The Wall" is first and foremost the greatest concept album of all time. The movie released some years later is a somewhat mediocre Hollywood adaptation of the original double album many consider to be a masterpiece.
This was the 2nd, of 3 encores. The WHOLE concert is incredible.
Gilmour is the greatest… but if you like guitar solos, and guitarist really into playing a guitar weeping… play some Gary Moore
Gary Moore Still got the Blues
Yasssss! One of the greatest songs ever written
He gets a pass because of how on point you were about guitar solo pauses. Respect brother
Gah ❤ I am so happy you're reacting to this 🎉 so good ❤
It's hard to react to Pink Floyd because most people just zone in and check out for the length of the song.
The encore was "Run Like Hell". Epic. And ALL of Pink Floyd is elite shit.
Yeah lads been waiting for this. Thank you for covering this boys. This was the second to last song. Run like hell was the last one. They have a long list of legendary tunes. Try run like hell from the same pulse concert
Move the pause button away from him next time
Sorry, had to split when you squelched the solo.
Think they were before their time.. Very complex.. Very unique.. ❤✌️
This was the first finale. They came back out to do a couple more. Last song was Run Like Hell. Well worth you guys checking out, as well.
Substance comes from the music, not how someone looks.
To pause during a Gilmour solo is against international law. Punishment is a hell in which you get no music at all.
That is just....AWFUL
No, Worse; He has to listen an Endless loop of Yoko Ono's cover of "Great Gig in the Sky". Listen and You may agree.
Your question couldn't wait??????? REALLY????????
There are three original members of Pink Floyd in this concert: Lead guitraist and singer, David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist, Richard Wright.
R.I.P Richard Wright
David Gilmour was not an original member of Pink Floyd
Proper GOATs. From this same concert, The Great Gig in the Sky is "hold the phone" unique. No spoilers why. Studio tracks, I'd highly recommend Time, as poignant today as recorded in 70's and the absolutely superb Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Love that you covered this chaps. Oh, don't forget Dogs, what a truly special song that is. You're forgiven for stopping the solo, it is fookin' long!
❤BTW, the Pink Floyd 1st show back in Ottawa,Sept 1987, since The Wall Tour in 1981! There is a straight audio video on TH-cam with me cheering like crazy in the background! Listen careful, you can hear me!😂 LOL
Let me know if you want to know more
As a fan that was in the crowd that night....thank you for not interrupting the solo
Gilmour had us elevated just drifting & floating .. then the Pause 🤣
Ppl will be listening to this a 100 yrs from now!Ive been listening for 50 yrs.
Glad to have seen them live...twice. Did you interrupt a guitargasm?😊
NO! NO! NO! NO!
Never - EVER - interrupt a guitar solo!
ANY guitar solo!
That's the law! ☺️
This is THE greatest solo ever recorded.
You never interrupt a guitar solo. And that was one of the greatest guitar solos in history.
Brings back wonderful thoughts of my youthful years..great vibes ✌️
