Once again I am nearly speechless by this performance. There must be many people to thank for brining this magnificent performance to the world stage. I don’t know who you all are but I give you a heartfelt for allowing me to enjoy this performance from my home in Northwest Washington USA., What is so impressive to me is the feeling that not one musician and conductor left anything on that stage during that performance. Nothing. They gave all that they had to that performance. A fact so perfectly illustrated by the video engineer(s) and most certainly by the sound engineers. Well done . Thank you.
Wonderful performance of the sinfonia of the opera of Mozart '' Le nozze di Figaro '' . Presto but with balanced sound ! Congrats to the orchestra and also the conductor !
Magnificent. I keep coming back to listen to this performance. Was this recorded during the during the times of Covid and social distancing? Did the conductor arrange the stage? If it was during the time of social distancing would the spacing of each musician (6’ apart) have any effect on the overall dynamics of the sound? I’m just curious.
Hi, @rickmelillo2760! This was indeed a recording during Covid times, with an almost six-feet distance between the musicians and no audience allowed in the hall. Stage setup is generally being planned by the stage management team, but of course the conductor has to agree with the layout. And yes, the dynamics of the sound were changed a bit, but Cologne Philharmonic Hall has great acoustics and still allowed for a hopefully suitable recording quality.
On some occasions the nervousness of the moment does not allow us to be congruent with the music, the tempo is too fast, it seems that there is a race of speed and not of musical quality, I did not like this conductor at all.
