    Hi, for O2 absorber storage, I would vacuum seal them in the same bag they came with or I'd use a new vacuum sealer bag. If you have a lot of O2 absorbers, reseal them into smaller bags. That way, you use only what you need without affecting the entire batch.

    What about silica absorbers? Could you use silica and 02 absorbers? I store all of my food in 1 quart mylar bags. I don't want to open anything before I really need it. I'm referring to rice, dried beans and pasta for dry storage. Mention anything else that could be used in this method. All of the mylar bags go into 5 gallon buckets.

      Those probably should be stored with Silica dessicant moisture absorber.
      They are probably not dry enough to store with O2 absorbers.
      Hope this helps.

    Are you able to store grits with an oxygen absorber?

  • @Chainsaw2373

    What about also using desiccant for storage to remove moisture?

    • @ChefPrepper
      @ChefPrepper  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those are good for dehydrated and dried foods like dried fruits and similar type foods.
      But, if moisture is a problem or might be a problem, the food shouldn't be stored with O2 absorbers or vacuum sealing.
      Hope this helps.

    Any idea if hand warmers will work as well? When they are activated they must have oxygen. To shut them down you just put them in a plastic bag.

    • @ChefPrepper
      @ChefPrepper  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They do work by reacting with oxygen, but I think they are more "chemically" inclined than O2 absorbers. They may have stuff that isn't good for food in them.
      The heat they generate might cause some condensation?
      Not sure.
      I think I would stick with O2 absorbers.
      Hope this helps.
