It's funny that a boxed Wii cost less than the GameCube game is worth... With GameCube games, certain ones are compatible with the Gameboy Advance via a special link up cable.
At the cost of used GC games right now, I don't feel that bad about "Sideloading" them onto a USB stick to play on my softmodded Wii, especially living in the middle of nowhere with no good used game shops.... And it let's my Wii keep living the good life of playing games instead of being forgotten in storage because it's disk drive died years ago. If I can find the games I want for decent prices though I will get them and try to make ligit backups of my own copies to use instead

Just homebrew modded my family's original shared Wii, the disk Drive may be dead but by the power of homebrew modding it can now Run games from USB so it lives again, even has the Gamecube ports still so it's a 2-for-1 even without considering its retro emulation capabilities!

A bit of a long read. I found the Wii to be fun. Most of my time playing on it got spent playing games like Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart Wii, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and some Smash Bros. Brawl. I recieved it around 2016 or 2017 and its PAL model from Australia, where an Aunt of mine lives, and came with a Wii Balance Board (sadly it did not survive due to batteries being left inside and leaking and destroying the pcb) and a USB external hard drive that has the games. It was only a few months ago when I was learning more about softmodding a Wii (to update the mods) that I realived someone reflashed the Wii to a NSTC firmware which was why it worked on the TVs in my country. I used to play the Wii on a 32" Sony Trinitron TV, but the TV started to have issues like messed up geometry on the lower third of the screen, and some parts of the screen dimming and brightening randomly. I got a Wii2HDMI so I could play it on my computer monitor and it worked and still using the same Wii2HDMI I use it from time to time on a newer TV now and still have fun. Last time I powered it on was for a random reason, I put in the Wii Sports and left it at the menu just to listen to the music as I was doing stuff.

Actually, people (especially Zelda and Mario players) used the nunchuk a lot. The control stick was used exclusively for character movement in games where you had characters running around and doing things. The exceptions to this were the Virtual Console games, which required the Wii Classic Controller to play and GameCube games, which required a GameCube controller to play them on the Wii.
Early Wii era was something special. I didn't get one till bit later but my cousins had theirs on launch and I remember that day being really fun just messing about with the console. Feels nostalgic now which is scary in a way lol

I have happy memories of when I got my Nintendo Wii first hand, I can tell you a long story about it too but I won't. That Wii-mote might need to be synced to the Wii, there is a little red button in the Wii mote and instead the front of the Wii. You press them and then it should sync. You could an online user guide if you need to. A Wii for £10.00 you can't go wrong...
What a bargain. You cannot go wrong with this set for 10 pounds! I just modded the vWii on my Wii U so I can finally play the US version of Trauma Center which I bought new from Playasia only recently. However, I would also like to get a Wii because of the slightly blurry image from the vWii via Hdmi. But since I only have an OLED TV with fully digital panel and the only scart to Hdmi adapters are either super cheap (and suck) or way too expensive (OSSC and so on), I guess I will have to live with it until someone comes up with something like the Prism for the Gamecube. I got a black Wii, with the controllers, balance board and a couple of games. At a car boot sale, for £5. It worked ok, after I put a cleaning disc in it.
Have you connect it to internet? I have Wii and Wii U too and I know we can’t play online games or buy games from Wii Shop but if you are a lucky guy maybe you can found some games that was buy before. I have download my old games from my Wii Shop too.
Wii + Mario Kart Wii + Super Paper Mario + Super Mario Galaxy 1&2. Those games alones are the reasons why it's valid to buy a Wii even in the year 3000 dc and beyond 😉

To this day there is nothing as satisfying as the Wii controller + nunchuck. It rests your hands (I plsyed with my arms crossed) it gelt so intuitive with games with bows. It felt right to swing the controller. To this day, why not bring back controllers thst you can swing?

Still an excellent console, loved it back then - love it today. Still have mine plugged in for some Gamecube and on-rail shooters action.
