- So I was scrolling through the GameStop website on Black Friday, and I came across this refurbished Nintendo wii... and I decided to pick it up. It came with 3 Mario games, and was less than $50, so I think it was a solid pickup. Check out the video to see how gamestop did!

I bought my Wii for 15 dollars, at a local Deseret industries, within the last year. All complete, and looks basically brand new, except for surface scratches not seen up close. Also has the top covers for Gamecube controller ports, and memory card ports, which usually are missing on Wii's I see in the wild. Hands down the best console in my opinion!
Hell of a deal. Got mine for $30 for about the same condition as yours except no gamecube port covers like yours had, still really happy with it. :)

Dude 480P has nothing to do with the graphic. That's the resolution of the screen. Man as a gamer you should actually know these things!
Only the first Wiis came with a stand - the later cheaper versions did not have a stand.
Oddly though, the later ones did not have game cube interfaces - so you got a bit of a mix and match set.

I got my Wii just as Gamestop stopped selling them in their brick and mortar stores. I got the very last one within a fifty mile radius so that was lucky.
A few months back I got a wii from a goodwill for 7 $,I had all the cords so all I needed was the wii,it works perfectly and I've been wanting to play the Wii because I've been missing that system,it's got a few scratches on the side and it's a black wii but has full game cube back words compatibility

If you plan to keep using that wii, they do make HDMI adapters for like 10$ which greatly improves the quality. It does not actually make it 1080p, but it forces 16:9 and upscales to a 480i signal.

MrSuperVikingo same it makes it look better and you can use an hdmi cord it just makes sense.
Softmodding a wii is cool. Here's what you can add to your wii with Homebrew:
• Playing games from a USB
• Wiimmfi (replacement service for Nintendo WFC)
• RiiConnect24 (replacement service for WiiConnect24)
• Add mods (texture packs, enhancements, etc.) to a game
• Gecko codes (cheat codes basically)

Cool. You'd have to get in game to know if the scratches made the disc unplayable. It will display an error.
Still playing madworld on Wii.
You'll need component cables for that TV, for better image, it can also activate the progressive scan mode for game cube discs.

well, I don't have a GameStop where I live. I live in Canada with doesn't have GameStop to my knowledge. In Canada we Canadians have EBGames.

Sorry dude but if you look on eBay, you can get a Wii with a couple of games and balance board for a good £28 + £10 shipping.
Those black marks I had on my second hand Wii balance board. I used all purpose surface spray and the back of sponge and it came off with no scratches

When you find out that the sensor bar it came with was from the wii u since the wii didn’t have black sensor bars only red and grey

You can use a htpc and play wii and Wii u games. Just have ryzen 3200g 8gb to 16gb ram and mini atx or itx motherboard. It will play any game you want up to ps2 .

Just get a av to HDMI converter it's 20 bucks and converts to 720p
@@volsavious2319 Cheap ones have terrible quality. I'm better off just using a component cable and TVs these days only have one if any, and I'm currently using it for my PS2.
9:12 The resolution is 480i not 480p, the only way to get 480p is by a set of component cables or a Wii to HDMI

that's one hell of a deal!!! i bought mine for 35 Euros with two wiimotes with motion plus and 1 nunchuck but no games
I managed to get a Wii with a steering wheel, tennis racket, two controllers, charging pod and gun case for £15. . just home brewed it and stuck a usb stick in the back . . . Happy days. Must admit though while the memories came flooding back, I do prefer emulation as the graphics are sharper.
That huge ring in the New Super Mario Bros disc was disc rot in the inner ring it could probably affect the audio in the game a bit but it should keep playing
you’d think the family version would have dvd support.
I got the same bundle in Black Friday sweet deal for the price and the games you get with it all great Mario games opened mine it works like a charm very pleased with the purchase 😊

I got same wii you got. The controllers ports look like they glue it but I clean it, now its works 100%.

I mean I get it was from GameStop but from my local charity shop I got a Wii with 25 games 2 controllers with rechargable batteries and dock (also with all the cables) for £50 which is $65.18
I got nintendo wii for 10 bucks at the street market here in the netherlands. It came cemplete in box with some stuf with it and 4 wiimotes and it worked perfecty fine. And it been used for like 3 times ive cheked the history

I myself bought a Wii on Friday the 13th on eBay lol. Mine was new, yeah I spent enough, but I wanted to start collecting exclusives for it. I bought the Wii on launch with my two best friends. And how can you not like the GameCube backwards compatibility on the earlier models, which is also what I bought! I got that console that Christmas it came out in 2001. I cannot wait!!!

You inserted the discs to see if they work but then immediately ejected them. JSYK, you should play to the title and past the title for a few minutes. This is to make sure the discs play.
