    DJI has too many variables in the different flight modes. Unless you are in the correct flight mode it will disable some features or safe guards that you are trying to use. I would suggest that you go to the website and make a chart that you can easily read in the field that shows what features are enabled and disabled for each flight mode. This may take some time because if you enable/disable a feature in a particular flight mode it may automatically enable/disable another feature that you did not want to change. It can be very confusing, good luck getting everything to work the way you want when you want.

    Great video, I don't think it was long enough! By the way I think you have to hold the c2 button down while you are passing through the narrow passages. If you see beside the option is has the "Narrow Passages(HOLD)" I believe it means to hold the button while passing through and then you can let go after you are in the clear. Maybe I'm wrong

    If you would be able to fly through the tunnel, would you loose the signal from the controller to the drone. I did fly through a tight place with my P3 advanced with the prop guards installed, by pushing it in atti-mode through it. It’s kind of a crude approach to “shimmy” it through the tunnel with the prop guards installed to protect the props. Just a thought.
    You are doing an excellent job with your videos, a wealth of information for a beginner like me. Keep up the good work.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. You're a lifesaver. I'll never have to worry about crashing my drone again. I was lucky to purchase it with insurance, but I was naive and bought a P4 Plus as my first UAV and crashed it into my university (after successfully flying it and maneuvering it quite easily because I've played plenty of sim driving, FPS, and pilot flight sims growing up.) But i did crash it twice already, and thanks to you I can just throw that on to get those close shots

    When you can see you have a clear los through the tunnel. And you know 5he tunnel is 6-8 ft wide and high etc. only look through the camera to position yourself and get the right pitch for the camera. Then fly manually look at your bird silhouette against the sky at the far end. With your stocks just keep her in the middle of that frame. The camera often makes it appear we are too close to somet8ng so we start making micro corrections which look awful on c@mera.

    Hi Peter. another fun filled adventure as always! i love it when i hear my phone or tablet notify me of something and i look and its a new video from you! how are you liking the Shield K1 tablet? Is it bright enough to see the screen in sunlight? i almost bought one last year. but got a Samsung Tab A 10inch instead. was cheaper. And flying the P4P must make you feel like an astronaut with all the different settings and functions it has. dont know if i would enjoy something complex like that. i love my Autel Xstar Premium to death. it hasnt let me down yet. Its bright orange and when i see it flying back after being one mile away its like watching a dog retrieve a frisbee! Happy to see it back. Thanx Peter for more fun! You would make a great comedian. So is Tripod mode only available in the Phantom 4 PRO? Or does the Phantom 4 also have it? Also would you recommend flying it in this mode on a regular basis? Thank and great video.

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The P4 does not have side sensors and the Tripod mode uses side sensors, so no, the P4 doesn't not have Tripod mode. Whether you want to use it, totally depends on the situation you are in and what you want to do.

    Two comments...
    1. If your AC can fly forward halfway into the tunnel and since you can then back out toward the entrance, why not turn it on its own axis when you are halfway, and back out to the other side?
    2. A friend of mine lost his P4 when flying close to the water surface. He was subsequently unable to recover it as the water was too deep.

    Interesting site - an no people around. Wondering why the color balance of Phantom 4 was so unnatural (also the GoPro you wear in-front your chest btw) compared to the Panasonic video cam your colleague was shooting with. You were shooting with 5700K. Of course you can correct this is post - but is there any reason why you did use these settings ? Thanks for your inside view on this topic!

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the color balance is an issue, because I use so many different cameras. I do correct it a little bit to make it less of an issue, but once I do this, my computer slows down tremendously. To view it right I should render it first, but in general that takes 3-4 hours. And every adjustment... I have to render it again to view it well. Just takes too much time.

    I'm surprised that you're not able to make it through that tunnel. My theory is that if there was more light in there, you'd be able to pick your way through. Or, when the drone stops itself, let go of both sticks to allow them center and re-set, then keep pushing forward. I was also surprised that the precision landing wouldn't work on top of the blue box, but I think that will only work if that was your take-off point and precision landing was enabled (not activated, but enabled, if you know what I'm saying) when you took off. The text that DJI chooses for some of the screen instructions is certainly confusing; if I hadn't watched this video and read the comments, it never would have occurred to me that the word HOLD in parentheses means that you have to keep the appropriate C button held down for narrow sensing to work.

      Erick W I'm also curious about Peters configuration. Me on the other hand have the exact same HW set up as Peter and have finally got it to work perfectly. I'm now running Android 5.1.1, DJI go 4.0.7 AND have downgraded the RC firmware to 1.6.0. A completely clean tablet with no other installed or running apps then Go helps I think as well as always flight mode activated on the tablet. Only remaining issue for me is the compass in the Nvidia shield tablet but that is HW related I think.
      Cheers!

      Thanks Jon BJ for your reply. I'm a completely newbie starting with P4P. I own myself a Galaxy Tab Pro (10.1") running Android 7.1.2, but I'm thinking to downgrade Android to Android 5.1.1 since I got a some instability at my end running my current stack. Also, my tablet processor is an Exynos, which I don't know if it has any influence.. time will tell :)

    I Just did the same thing with my Phantom 3 Pro using the FPV camera view. Tunnel was about 300 yards away across this beaver dam and about 50 ft threw the tunnel under a railroad. I went in about 1/3 of the way the first time then backed out. The second time I lined up and shot threw. I stopped at the far end and decided just to raise it up and over the railroad to bring it back. Well camera view showed I was threw but I found out I was not .When I started to raise it I was actually about a foot short of clearing the tunnel. All bad from here. Blades hit the ceiling and down it went into the water. Recovered it from the water. Dried it out and I am rebuilding it now. Everything came back on except the motor controller. Recorded it all.

      Yes, constantly. But after deleting all DJI apps AND folders and clean install DJIGo4 it was solved.

    ...........THANKS A LOT! ....i do have some Questions:
    1)Where was this filmed?
    2)I have the Phantom 4 Pro Plus, and this device has a HDMI Output, but if i connect a "Oculus Rift" (FPV / VR) then it Shows nothing! Do you know why? Can i not use this HDMI Output also for other VRs than the DJI Goggles? Yuneec Skyview would also be a lot cheaper ;-)
    3)You are using a tablet with HDMI Output, or? Do you Need a Special Software to connect a FPV to it? Or does this work like just plugin and getting a Picture on the FPV?
    4)Can you Recomment the FatShark? What about the Resolution?
    BEST REGARDS from BAVARIA

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Sao Miquel, Azores.
      2. Make sure you have set the option in the app to send video to the HDMI out.
      3. No special software, just plug it in and choose 'mirror screen'.
      4. The Fatshark is so much smaller... it's ideal for travelers, but the resolution is less.

    Thanks for doing dangerous stuff with your drone so I can learn, this way there's less chance of me crashing my drone doing something wrong.

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. That's the idea. It take the drone to it's limits so others can fly more safely.

      My mom is from Holland, so I subscribed (I would have anyway, but that sounds better.) I recognized your accent immediately. I'm a surveyor getting into drones for creating topographic mapping.

    It's more than apparent that he doesn't know what he is doing spend more time with the manual and do more research. A small bridge like that a child could go through it in sport mode,water landing gear could save your drone in case it lands on water. I would have turn the sensors off for the narrow spaces and fly super smooth. the water detection is probably based on movement and reflection. Beautiful place you should check Madeira next another gorgeous Portuguese island, I haven't learned anything from this video but look forward to the areal footage from this amazing place maybe some dolphins too. This is a great drone easy enough for any numb nuts to pick up and fly in minutes the rest comes with time, common sense and lots of practice. Have fun and fly safe

      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I thought this was very informative but also thought it was a little too long. I only say this for the benefit of the videographer, the average persons attention span seems to be getting shorter and shorter with SO much information out there, you will get more "views" if you make it shorter. But keep up the good work!

    10:20 look at your satellites you rapidly loses from 13 satellites to 0 thats why it stops no signal

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      When losing satellites it switches to 'Vision positioning'. That's no reason to stop moving. Movement is stopped when it sees obstacles.

    • @NeverMindYourOwn
      @NeverMindYourOwn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can totally understand. Why the beeping anyways? It stops by itself, so it doesn't need to warn you like that. On the screen you can see how close you are and what's going on.

    You were mentioned in Ken Heron's latest video, th-cam.com/video/dSrUQhYXP80/w-d-xo.html. I told him you had big balls for flying your Phantom 4,5 KM to your vacation house terrace. He asked me how I knew you had big balls. I told hime anyone who flys a Phantom 4.5 KM has big balls by default. Hahah. Watch the video if you get a chance. You are mentioned around 5:33.
