I am located in a very old black neighborhood. This area needs a station! It would be used for community information and for collection and distribution of donations and services to inspire and help those in need. Love your channel! I hope whoever wins, forwards this blessing to help others.

I used to run a station out of my basement. Strictly music and community announcements. My neighbors would listen. I ran two turntables, two cd players, a couple of cassette decks processed through an Alto 2.0 compressor/limiter. It sounded superb! I had a small 2 watt FM stereo generator. I worked in radio in my 20's and 30's during the 1980's and 90's. I am retired now and this would be an awesome, at home hobby that could serve my rural neighborhood. This is so cool!

It would be used for our neighborhood in a small town in the mountains. We don't get many stations at all up here.

Id like to have one to legitimately have a community radio station. We have a lot of elderly in our area and also a few bad apples it would be good to help with the neighborhood watch and help us work together to weed out local thieves. I think it would be awesome! Keep up the good work Man, love the content especially the CB radio reviews. 🤙

If I won this transmitter I would use it to amplify local voices, including local bands and local independent journalists who have a youtube channels. I live in Seattle in the heart of the area formerly known as CHOP/CHAZ during the George Floyd protests a few years ago, and if we ever find ourselves in a similar situation I would be ready to offer radio broadcast information and updates to anybody with a radio, amplifying POC voices the best way I know of.

I live in a 55+ community outside of Palm Springs, CA. Several years ago the Smooth Jazz station out here flipped to Classic Rock. This has left no radio station in the area that plays their favorite music. A few years ago I setup a transmitter here at my house. I was able to transmit my online Smooth Jazz Station that covered many of the mobile home communities here. They played the station at the pool. People commented all the time how much they enjoyed the music. When the pandemic hit the pool was closed, and we needed money. So if I win this transmitter it will put a smile on everyone's face who live out here. Also we are behind the transmitter site for the stations out here that picking up the stations are very hard. Especially the translator stations. There are no Smooth Jazz radio stations here in the desert. Thanks

I would love to set up a station to help out my community by keeping them informed during emergency situations and when someone in our area is in need. It would also be a backup for our Church for outdoor services. Thanks for the opportunity!

Hey there Eric, in 1991 I discovered Rush Limbaugh, I am talk radio junkie. In a world of pod-casting, I prefer terrestrial radio and antenna TV. I used to say the best part of my job was that I get to listen to Glenn Beck and Rush everyday. Naturally Rush is now with the Lord, but because of him, I developed my love for radio. Although I do not have a great radio voice, I am a street preacher. With the world going crazy and censorship increasing, I think having a local station for my small town would be really cool, I could also use it at church, as I am the audio video guy and yes I do everything on Linux, I am a nerd. God Bless Eric and thanks for your videos.

I've been wanting to start a neighborhood radio station for a few years. I've had people pester me all my life to go into radio because of my voice. We live in the country among a group of about 60 one acre lots. Our community is in the middle of farmland in southern Arizona off old Historic Highway 80. My thoughts are to air my podcasts daily and fill in with old Art Bell episodes that I have collected over the years. I currently have an AM transmitter, along with several mics and two mixing boards that I have used to voice-over sailing vids for my TH-cam channel. This would give me exposure on FM that would boost my ability to reach others.
    Thanks for your consideration.

I don't want to win this. I'm just glad you have done another video on a portable radio transmitter. The reason I currently don't own a CB, Shortwave, GRMS or FM transmitter is I don't know what to say if I did own one. I really don't have anything to add to the conversations which are already taking place out there. I once did own a CB but the only people I ever talked to were my friends. I really felt self conscious interrupting other peoples conversations. Anyway, thank you for making this video. More radio receiver/transmitter videos please. As a quick side note your shed really turned out good.

Been a radio broadcasting enthusiast since I was a kid. Worked at a local FM station back in 1997 and currently operate an online station Power97. 97 represents the year 1997 when I began my radio journey. I live right outside of Dunedin FL and would love to help all the small businesses (restaurants and art shops, museums, churches and art vendors) advertise their ongoing events bi-weekly as I have direct contact with many of them. There is much to offer and advertise for this growing small town and would love to share my passion along with helping others in the community!

If I had that FM transmitter I would share this information on the air:
There is no IRS Code requiring employees to pay "income taxes" from their pay wages. There is no United States law requiring employees to pay "income taxes" !
I have not been paying "income taxes" for over 2 years. There are only 4 easy steps.
So many employees volunteer to pay "income taxes" because they are willfully ignorant and mentally lazy... therefore they will remain slaves.
Filling out a IRS W-4 Form for Tax Exempt status is not illegal and is not entrapment. People employees here in the USA are allowed to legally choose the 'EXEMPT' option on their IRS W-4 Form.
Here is the proper and honest way to not volunteer to pay "income taxes" as an employee. The first step is to go to your boss or manager and ask for another IRS W-4 Form paper.
Print your name, address and Social Security number at the top part of the W-4 From then ignore everything else on W-4 Form and do NOT write anything on it until you get near the bottom of the IRS W-4 Form.
Near the bottom of W-4 Form at STEP 4, write the word EXEMPT below the (c) Extra withholding line.
Then at STEP 5 of the W-4 Form write the words All Rights Reserved on the signature line and enter the month, date and year. Make sure you DO NOT sign your name !
Give your boss or manager your new updated IRS W-4 Form.
Go to your office supply store to have them make you a rubber ink stamp that says the words, Lawful money demanded as per 12 USC sub section 411. Then below this have the words, By ___________________________
    Authorized Agent
Before you cash or deposit your paychecks ink stamp the back of your paychecks then sign your name on the signature line of the ink stamped paycheck.
You will never need to fill out a IRS 1040 Form each year. There is no need to because you are now TAX EXEMPT.

I would love to get the local community and youth in our very small town interested in this type of technology. In addition I pastor a small church which is mostly older folks. This would be an excellent method of including those who can’t drive anymore and hopefully it may interest some of the younger folks in our services . In addition to this, it would be an excellent way to communicate to folks to turn on other emergency comms in that type of scenario (GMRS, MURS relay, CB, etc. considering ham now as well).

It'd be late (I totally suck at timelines anyway), but I'd love to give this to my friend, motorcycle buddy, and Pastor for a belated Pastor appreciation month gift. Which is actually in October, but again I suck at timelines.
His dream is to make our small (70ish person) congregation everyone's congregation. Truly a good guy if anyone can be measured as good. That's coming from a FORMERLY ordained FORMERLY pagan sage. If he can help save a wretch like me, being able to broadcast on the local "free" airwave might help others. If I can play the intermediary role of entering a comment in his behalf I'd be quite glad.

I am still a learner but I’m trying to set a simple home base up. I’m figuring it all out with what I have “just a couple old mobile units”. Where I live we get snowed in at least once a year. I’m trying to have a reliable source to keep tabs on family a couple miles over just to make sure there’s no emergencies while waiting for the road to clear. There’s only one man of the house over there and sometimes that isn’t enough. Also I find radios are just fun as a hobby now.

Looks like a lot of fun!! We live just outside of the sleepy village of Lanark Ontario, Canada. Lanark County is also known as the maple capital of Ontario, so maple syrup is a main staple on many people’s breakfast plate in the springtime, whether it be a tourist or a local getting their annual sugar indulgence from Mother Earth. It is a community of retirees, anglers, and a few hard working people lol. A friend and I have already set up a local community of cb buddies who get on the airwaves every evening to share the day’s events. My friend is an antenna enthusiast and has built antennas for all kinds of frequencies. We really have a lot of fun and it is contagious. If we end up with a country radio station, I would love to keep in touch with you to let you know how this rig works. Once we set it up with a proper base antenna, we will be off to the races! We own a small family metal fabrication shop providing commercial bike racks for the local communities that surround us, including the neighbouring city of ottawa and beyond. Ok, now I am rambling on lol. My cb handle is Sparky for obvious reasons. Hoping your back has healed up nicely and you and your family spend your days full of laughter, happiness and wonderful memories. Sparky over and out!

I suppose if I were the big winner I'd have to come up with a good idea. Living near the county line between two West Virginia towns, there are some deficiencies in receiving local information. I'm not a real content guy myself but I'd try to find some obscure content of local interest.
I recently had to put out an external antenna just to pick up my local NOAA station. Whatever I did, I'd probably wire in the output for the weather radio so that when the alert goes off, it would go out on the FM.

I would like to have "whole house" coverage for my satellite radio receiver. It has its own fm transmitter but rarely reaches more than one room away before I lose the signal. I would like to be able to hear the signal from the satellite radio receiver anywhere in my house, especially on the patio when I'm out enjoying the weather or in the garage. This seems like it would be the perfect product to solve my issue.

I know this message isn't about your product, but maybe you can help me out. I've had an old President HR 2510 mobile radio and would like to use it. I have a Avanti170 Sigma 5/8 antenna that I refurbished this year. My only problem is that the antenna is for CB 11 meter, and the radio is for 10 meter. What do I need to do to make them work together??

My church could benefit from a low power fm transmitter. People can listen in their vehicles and not be inside the church because of the covid pandemic..

I am local in South Florida in a western horse community and would love to assist our neighbors, with lost and found dogs, and other animals. Plus, assist with information about storms coming and goings

Ah, brings back memories of Radio Free Berkeley and how they blew the minds and wallets (in court)of the FCC, with their Part 15 rule breaking FM Transmitter kits !! Still 29 years later and selling more powerful 40 watt, and up rigs !!!! Good luck to all, and 73's thanks for the video. ps not meant to be a plug, just a bit of Part 15 history.

I guess I don't understand this? You input music from another device, it then puts it back out via fm radio? Is that correct? Is there more to this idea?

    • @JonathanMcKey
      @JonathanMcKey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You have some form of music player, like an MP3 player or laptop, and plug it into the transmitter and it transmits on the frequency you set it to.

Question: the FCC says you gotta pay them 4K for a license ....just for starters. How can my local rock station have a 55,000 watt station and NOT interfere with air traffic control etc etc?

There is no radio stations here on the coast that plays real music thats inspiring.. like good jazz or even some fun facts over the air.. There is none. I have played with am radio but never got into fm.. I have been in professional am and fm radio,, Always wanted a station.. So many are drying up.. from the other big guns swallowing up every little mom and pop out there...
I could give something like this a real spin,! As being close to the ocean.. It would travel over the water... I could even give reports on fish and water.. or even tide heights or oldies on the beach day! That would be cool too.
    Love your stiff!

I'd like to put mine own name in the hat to enter in the contest. I already have a 1/2 watt transmitter at mine apartment through which I air good programming to a solid 1/2 mile in all directions. However, I would like to upgrade to serve my neighbourhood further and better. If I do win, I can give my old one to my church so that they can air our services, and air the movie nights they want.

I want to improve my current radio station which operates off a cheap Chinese transmitter because it bleeds into other frequencies. I also want to get better coverage and my goal is to reach both retirement homes nearby, since the format is oldies.

I will make a local bluegrass station. We have a lot of bluegrass fans in this county and every local music barn has shut down and there are no local fm stations playing bluegrass around here. I play bluegrass myself (banjo and guitar) I have a rohn tower I can mount the antenna on as well. I've always wanted one of these and may buy one like this in the video if I don't win.
