I'm sure you've already done this, but make sure you're charge wire from your alternator goes to your 7 pin connector at your receiver hitch so the batteries will charge as you drive.
Word of caution, if your trailer is not rated for off-road use, stick to paved roads unless you upgrade your springs and shocks, I’ve had springs break on interstate road construction where they had ground up the top layer of asphalt.
We have been in the UP for almost 2 weeks now. The Pictured Rocks NP is a must-see. We visited Munising a couple of times. There are 2 decent breweries there. We took the Pictured Rocks Kayak tour. It's expensive but well worth it. Kitch-iti-kipi Spring and Tahquamenon Falls State Park are worth a visit if you have your SP Passport. Hope you have a great trip.
North Shore, MN: If you're up for a hike with lots and lots and lots of stairs with a reward at the end, I recommend Devils Kettle on the Brule River just north of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Also there are so many gorgeous places along the MI UP. The Two Hearted River Campground (at the mouth of the river) is a great place to find Yooperlights! Bring a 365UV light.
Checkout the area around Bayfield ,Wisconsin, access to the apostle islands and the sea caves if you’re into kayak tours. Also, boat tours to the islands and a ferry to Madeline Island and the state park there. Several other campgounds near Bayfield. Highly recommend the area.
Some campsites we go to in Michigan. Algonac state park. Tawas point state park. Lake port state park. Go to frankenmuth Michigan. Also try to go to a Michigan football game. Also go to greenfield village also called the Hery Ford in Dearborn. Also do the thumb of Michigan around Saginaw bay starting at Tawas then south to bay city then north up to port Austin then back down the east side of the thumb. Stop at port Huron blue water bridge and see st Clair river current river walk. Then follow m25 to st Clair river walk. Then marine city river walk then algonac state park , and to algonac river walk. Then take harsen island ferry to harsen island. And view the river delta into lake st Clair. No place like it in the world.
In addition to the tongue lock, I moved the safety chains attaching point to the truck instead of the trailer. Also, wire cable strung wheel to wheel will deter all but the most well-equipped of Thieves
When you go to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, take the boat trip in the afternoon. The sun will be in the western sky and shine on the cliffs. More color! Just a tip!
Along the coast of Superior is beautiful a lot to see pictured rocks from Grand Marias to Munising is a great drive with camping along the way and light houses to see. Also the Keweenaw Peninsula and copper harbor several lighthouse’s to see as well. Then on to Ontonagon and Porcupine Mountains state park beautiful and a lot of hiking.
You should definitely stop in Grand Marais, Michigan. From there you can drive through Pictured Rocks National Park on your way to Munising to see the pictured rocks. Stop and take a hike to Au Sable Lighthouse.
Connor, not sure if you are aware, but Winnebago has free wiring diagrams available for every RV they build. I believe you need to call the service department to get them. That would be great to have as they are floor plan specific.😮
Watching you walk in that little town was a bit jarring for me. I live there! Hahahaha. My reaction was "I know that walking bridge. Hey that marina is . . ." Yeah. Not much to explore here, but it was pretty cool to see it on a youtube channel I've been following for a while.
things happen.. just got a newish ram 2500 for a truck camper and the engine popped two weeks ago (luckily under factory pwrtrain warranty!) .. delays are part of the travelers lifestyle... always have a backup and emergency fund!
You've got to see Pictured rocks @ Lake Superior... take the boat tour!!! Copper harbor was amazing at sunset... we sat up on the hill. Got great photos. Fall is just gorgeous up there too ❤ there are so many beautiful waterfalls up through the UP also that you need to stop and see along the way. Can't wait to watch your videos!! Hope you love the poem I wrote for you guys below.❤
I really hate to see the truck camp go but, you guys are moving on. That’s life. Looking forward to seeing your new adventures. Enjoy and be safe. Good luck on selling the truck camper. ❤
Sucks your rear axle broke on ya being such a new truck. However, yay to being covered under warranty and glad you found out now versus being out on the road traveling. Man, I’m bummed to see the TC going bye-bye’s! 😔 I remember how excited ya’all were when you bought it as well as how excited and proud you were after the remodel project! However, I understand why it’s time to let her go and time to enjoy your new to you travel trailer where you’ll make many more memories along the way. Excited to see ya’all back out on the road in the coming weeks! As always, stay safe out there…..
I could never sit in a dealership that long. We have two vehicles that enable us to drop one off to be worked on. But the shop is only 10 minutes away. We have a Dodge that had injector issues and Stellantis was good taking care of us. Thanks for sharing.
12 mile beach campground is nice, or Lake Superior State Forest campground, but that one is a little tight. Gooseberry Falls in Minnesota is also nice.
We honeymooned on the North Shore in Minnesota many years ago but went back up there just a couple of years ago. Beautiful place! You should check out Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock lighthouse for sure!
I love the Santa Fe ski ticket, I live 1 hour away and spend many days throughout the year in that area. I sure hope you make it back out to northern New Mexico there is so much to explore.
Order a cleaner called Release. Saw it on another youtube channel and ordered it. I clean my 44ft Class A with it and the bugs come off so easily. It's a bit pricey, but the stuff works.
Your best bet would be to get rid of the Dodge truck and getting a Chevy or Ford. I drove tow trucks for a few decades and can tell you that The addition to my house and the new roof is paid for by the Dodge trucks I have towed. The thing I have found that works well to get the bugs off of campers is WD40 and second best is the bug remover windshield washer fluid.
Need to camp near copper Harbor or the Porkies by silver city.... best hiking in the UP there. Buy a dodge and your going to have issues....I was a ford guy until our company switched to Chevy. No major problems in 28 years doing Commercial roofing. We tow all the time also.
I will be trading my 5th wheel for a Host Yukon truck camper. My wife and I, when I retire in 6 years wants to go to Alaska. I convinced her a large truck camper, 3 slides, is the way to go. Plus I am getting the extreme plus off grid pkg. So 800w of solar on the roof and 1200ah of Go Pro batteries. Can run the 12v A/C 6+ hrs. I will be able to pull off and camp anywhere. There will be plenty of storage with the optional 4ft wardrobe, pantry and basement known as “The Morgue”. My wife likes the king bed too! Now it will be pricey, ($115,000), but I am retired and ya can’t take it with you. We will make the house into an Air BNB, and let their management company take care of it.
so I have the same axel and have a 3000 lb camper. Was this leaking from a plug weld, the tubes, or the pumpkin? and is the thinking that the weight of the camper caused this? these axels are weighted much higher... Just very curious as to what may have caused this
@@armslength2618 these rear ends are used by Chevy as well and are designed and manufactured by a third party. The issue is that truck camper as most are, are over weight for the trucks they sit in. Unless you have e a dullley you are overweight with a hard side camper.
Instead of all of that wiring to hook up the Goal Zero, buy a male plug and attach to 12-2 wire cord to have two male plugs. Plug one end into the battery pack and the other into any 120 socket. Turn on the AC button and you will have AC through out the camper. Simple. I use that to keep the fridge cold w/o turning on the propane while traveling.

I didn't realize you were selling the truck camper. Definitely a bittersweet time, but you will have so many memories to look back on.
It’s always bittersweet to part with something that has meant so much to us! I’m right there with you!

So nice that you were able to negotiate the shop. Very nice.
Fun to see the start of a new era on your show!

Found you! It was nice to meet you at Split Rock Lighthouse and learn of your channel. Newly subscribed and enjoyed your videos. Safe travels!
Thanks for finding us! It was great chatting. We hope you enjoy our channel(:

Definitely try to make it to pictured rocks and take a boat tour before the season is done.
You don’t have a factory installed ladder on the back. Usually that means you don’t have a walk on roof. Have you checked into that?
20:29 you had an AWESOME “People’s Eyebrow” there. The Rock would be impressed.

Very good video. See you next week 😊😮🎉❤.
We’re looking forward to getting on the road. The camper will sell, you can sell anything if you price it right.
I really hate to see the truck camp go but, you guys are moving on. That’s life. Looking forward to seeing your new adventures. Enjoy and be safe. Good luck on selling the truck camper. ❤
If your going up the NorthShore in MN definitely go to Grand Marias and visit artists point. Stop at JavaMoose for the best atmosphere and coffee
And Worlds Best Donuts!!

Hope you had a nice trip!
Love you guys ❤..waiting for the new adventure
Check out Black River Harbor, Little Girls Point, and Copper Peak in the U.P.
I love the Santa Fe ski ticket, I live 1 hour away and spend many days throughout the year in that area. I sure hope you make it back out to northern New Mexico there is so much to explore.
Very nice. Good luck with the sale of the truck camper. Enjoy your trip with the new camper 😊

It’s well worth it to make the trip to Bonds Falls ✌️🇺🇸

Just motorcycled the UP in July and Bay City State Park was pretty nice!
Shame about the axle quality in trucks isnt the same anymore glad it was covered atleast

Never gave us your finally thoughts after you went camping ⛺ along🤔
Pictured rocks and take the boat ride. You cant see the true beauty of it from the shore. I just did a month ago.
It’s the axle housing not the axle. you can’t see the axle by looking under the truck.glad they found the crack housing.
Live and recreate in the area you are going. Had a huge comment typed up with recommendations, but it disappeared after I posted it.
I picked up some Starter King. Thanks for the discount code
Soak cottonballs in vaseline and store in an old sucrets or mint tin. Excellent fire starter, it is petroleum jelly.
Porcupine Mountains, in Ontonagon MI, Connies for coffee. Copper Harbor MI. Grand Marais, MN.
Where did you list the camper at?
I’m a truck camper fan (since I have one 😂) sucks that you’re selling yours. But you have to do what you have to do.
Does anyone know the name/brand of the squares used under the mattress? They look like were slightly elevated and not flat.
How much are y’all wanting for the camper and how much does it weigh. Thanks

😢 I'm sure your new camper or rv will be as comfy as the old one..
What year is your truck?

So, it's your axle housing that's "cracked"...... not the axle. Huge difference.
It's a crappie dodge.
Ram doesn't manufacture the axle.
