We camp in Marquette every summer and stay in Tourist Park. It is not as quiet and peaceful but it is a bit cheaper and has better access to the beach and town than Rippling River. That said, we plan to stay a few nights at Rippling River or Raging River next year because of the access to the south mountain bike trails (Tourist Park has good access to the north trails). There is also a wonderful rail trail between Marquette and Ishpeming for people looking for a more casual cycling experience
We stayed 12 mile Beach Campground and Tahquamenon Falls SP, this past Summer in Sept as well. It was really windy at 12 Mile Beach, and pretty cold for 2 days. The Bath house was really nice at Tahquamenon Falls and campsites were rather large but not particular level.
I just turned 68 and have been going to the u.p. since I was 14. Honeymoon there, sailed and canoeing at big bay light house, snowmobile there, don't know why I've always lived by Cadillac instead of the u.p. I'll be back to watch h.s. football playoffs in their dome this Nov. Loved your video. Peace from Northern Michigan.
Alright Alright Alright, yet again, another most excellent video all around! Congratulations on your 7 year knowing each other anniversary!!! What a beautiful area, have been to the UP a few times and it always seems to get more and more beautiful each time! Thank you for taking us along on another large excursion of your daily adventures! As always, stay safe out there…..
Thank you guys for the journey! My mom was from Rochester and I have been able to make it as far north as Mackinac Island. I would definitely love to go to the UP someday, looks beautiful!!!
@@LivingLargeCamping Yes they love it there. Thank you for taking me back for a visit. Your video was good and brought back so many memories. Wish you safe and happy travels. Love the fur baby🥰
Congrats on 7! My wife and I celebrate 27 years married today and 30 together. :) We just came back from our UP trip the first week of October. Munising, Marquette, Porcupine Mountains and Copper Peak! And Marquette is great! We're a half hour north of Detroit, but the UP is one of our favorite destinations and Marquette is one area we'd move to if we had the chance. Glad you had a good trip! Enjoy the videos!
y'all are a very sweet and lovely couple and thank you for taking us along on this journey and all the gorgeous views! Take care and have a blessed day!
we met at NMU, married, and had a house in the area for awhile. MQT really is its own vibe. For the longest time we fantasized about living there again, but I think we've been far too spoiled by the relatively milder WI winters.... We're hoping to be able to spend more time in the area soon though!
We went to many of the same spots on our trip to Marquette at the beginning of September. We drove by that campground after we drove up Mount Marquette. Next time we visit the UP we are hoping to get to copper harbor. Looks like you had a great trip. Happy Anniversary!
Also, If you liked Rippling River, they just built another one on the other side of Marquette Mountain called Raging River Resort. It's a little more wilderness themed. I much prefer it.
Thank you for your video. My wife used to live in Marquette, while I've never been there. You've helped me understand her love of Michigan. If you're ever in Colorado, let me know. I can show you some beautiful camping spots.
Pad Thai looked so delish! AND good response Conner! 😂 Man! Y'all really wore out poor Barkley! 😂He looks like he could sleep all night long!! What a beautiful sunrise as well! It's a great way to start a new day in my opinion 🌞😎Thanks for sharing!
Like you video, just subscribed. We are from Michigan and just came back from an RV trip to sleeping bear dunes area and Ludington. Unfortunately, the Ludington State Park is closed until July 2025. The fall colors are just spectacular. Enjoy your next stay, maybe the Tahquamenon Falls?
Presque Isle Park is definitely a great spot to watch a sunrise. Whether you sit on the actual Black Rocks or enjoy moving around and walking, its beautiful. I am sure Sugarloaf Mountain and Hogsback Mountain have great views of sunrises and sunsets too. I just wouldnt want to hike up the mountain when it's dark in early morning or late evening 😁
Some of the most incredible Thai food I've ever had is at a small restaurant in Marquette called The Rice Paddy. It literally has seating for perhaps 4 people. They keep extremely busy.
The Marquette area has a lot of beautiful waterfalls that you can explore in the future. Dead River Falls is probably the most popular, it's not a single waterfall, but a series of 5-6 all accessible from the same trailhead. There was also a waterfall right across the street from the campground you stayed at, it's about a mile walk on a snowmobile trail/old railroad grade, that's right by the entrance to the Marquette Mountain ski area. It called Morgan Creek Falls, and it's where Morgan Creek flows into the Carp River. It's around a 20 foot drop.
The Tahquamonan falls campground is closed this winter for upgrades. One of the best state park campgrounds is Ludington but the summer crowding is nearly unbearable to me. Twelve Mile was very peaceful and scenic. Agree there is much to offer here in Michigan but I would like the state to stop the overcrowded campground situation.
I’m not sure why so many Michigan State Park campgrounds are the way they are. Squeezed in like sardines, lack of defined camp spaces, utilities seemingly randomly placed and may be shared with several other sites (more than the capacity of the given utility). It’s sad since there’s so much potential due to natural beauty.
There is a rustic campground tucked away pretty deep in the woods in Marquette called Forestville Campground. I think it would be right up your alley if you want someplace a little more off the beaten path.
OK! Seven years together, who is holding out! There had to have been a marriage proposal in there? There are tax benefits being married. You probably have to file separately. That’s not the greatest, just sayin.
@@Cgny Name just 1 successful relationship that hasnt involved marriage? Unfortunately a females "Value" decreases with time, not so much with a male.. Im sure shed be mad if she wasted her most valuable years with him and he just bailed after 10 years or so..
you human slaves get meat & wool from the the sheeps but sheeps never ask you for palm size papers called money but you still believe that you need to earn & pay palm size papers called money to be alive if this is not mind control then what else ?

Presque Isle, definitely a favorite. Beautiful park.
It was gorgeous!
You are really opening my eyes to the beauty of Michigan.

Thanks for the videos on the UP. We were there in September and missed the color change
Another wonderful video. Nicely composed 👏🏻 Thanks for sharing your adventures and camping discoveries.
Thank you!
My brother and his family live in Marquette, so I have been there. It is a beautiful place.
Seems like a great place to live!

Cool! I've hunted most of my life (PA) and never seen bucks fight in person.
It was a first and definitely cool to see! Not sure we’ll ever see that again in person
hey my friends I really like places you go and the hike you take it so beautiful I will see on the next trip you take
Thanks for watching!
Those trees changing is beautiful.
It’s peak fall right now and we can’t wait to show off the colors next video!

We enjoy staying at the Tourist Park when we are up there
We considered this park as well
Nice video. Thanks 😊
Bayview view campground is worth checking out .
Our favorite UP campground
We’ll have to check it out!
@LivingLargeCamping
Oh you have to check out Huron Mountain Bakery in Marquette if you are still in the area .
They have the goods!
Yall gotta check out camp Dearborn in milford Michigan
Congrats on 7 years

beautiful lake
It sure is!
The next time you guys pass through, ask a local about Hogsback. It's lesser known than Sugarloaf and just as pretty. Way less people.
Still waiting on a trip to Frankenmuth... season is closing up
Keep talking about Arkansas... somewhat new to your channel... is that where your from?
Hell, yeah shout out my town Fayetteville, Arkansas
We love Fayetteville!
The Marquette area is not “kind of windy most of the time”, and August in the UP is not an especially buggy month, not anything like May and June.
Very Nice video
Thank you!
Bucks were just a bachelor group,,sparing,,not rut until late October early November
Thanks for the information!

Can you show how you secure your camper when you are away from it so no one just hooks up to it and drives away? Always wondered about that. Thanks.
Congratulations on 7 years. Just curious as to what do you do to earn money?
❤
Thanks for watching!

I’ll have to look at it for next time!
Another great video! Always nice to get a chance to see Amelia in a swimsuit too 😜
Good music!
Thanks!
Together seven years. That’s great but sorry I’m old fashioned no marriage in the picture?
It is in the picture!
It is their business if they get married.
I would have put a ring on her within six months, just saying ❤️💍
OK! Seven years together, who is holding out! There had to have been a marriage proposal in there? There are tax benefits being married. You probably have to file separately. That’s not the greatest, just sayin.
Wow you known her seven years and no marriage!!I guess if you get the cow for free why buy the milk
Actually it is why buy the cow you get the milk for free
It’s not the 1950s anymore. Marriage doesn’t have to be part of the formula to have a successful relationship
Actually, they did discuss this a couple of months ago.
