Feeder were the first band I ever saw live. I actually have a really sweet story about Jon......They supported Reef in 1996. Me and my mate were 12/13 and managed to persuade his old man to take us to the Wolverhampton show. We ditched his dad and tried to get to the front for the opening act which was Feeder. We'd never heard of Feeder at this point because they were just starting out really. This was when Taka had his hair styled into two antennae! The music was awesome. They had just released Tangerine, and every time I hear that song now I still remember hearing it for the first time! Anyway, they played an awesome set and me and my mate thought it would be a cool idea to hang around the bar and try and ask someone to get us a a couple of beers (we had about 3 quid between us...youthful naivete!!). So there we were hanging around the bar trying to look pathetic enough for someone to take pity on us and this dude comes up to us and just started chatting. I cant remember what we chatted about, but he seemed to be on his own and was just a really nice bloke. He knew what we were up to and asked if we wanted a beer. Result!! He came back with two Red Stripes and we were fucking stoked! He didnt even want any money from us. We carried on chatting about music and shit. It seemed like people kept coming up to him and congratulating him. We then started to twig that he must have been in the band that had just played, but he hadnt mentioned it at all. My mate asked him if he was in that band and he laughed and told us he was the drummer. We couldnt believe it. We were really quite starstruck. We were only young and 15 minutes prior this guy was onstage playing to a huge crowd. This was really cool! We chatted for ages after that. Eventually he told us to wait while he went to get something. He came back with two 7" vinyls of Tangerine and TWO copies of the EP "Two Colours" on CD and a bunch of flyers and photos etc. Any Feeder fan knows how rare "Two Colours" is these days, but at the time we didnt know that, we were just so happy that this guy was even talking to us! He had to go shortly after that. I remember Reef were pretty good too. But it was Feeders performance and meeting Jon that really made the night for us! Over the years I went on to see Feeder more that 20 times. I followed them from pretty much where it started. I was so gutted the day I found out Jon had taken his life. I didnt know him. I spoke to him for maybe 15 minutes in total. But the kindness he showed to me and my mate stayed with me. He didnt have to buy us a beer. He didnt have to go out of his way supply us with what eventually became very valuable merch. He was just a genuinely nice guy. I am sure there are hundreds of people out there with very similar stories about Jon. I'll certainly never forget him. Especially every time I hear Tangerine!
You sure it wasn't 97? Kentish town forum was my first gig I went to. Reef headlined and Feeder were 2nd on. The following day i went and bought stereo world and tangerine from tower records. I met them twice shortly after that with Jon in Croydon HMV great times. I'll be honest I went off there recent stuff as I prefer the heavier side but this is the best I've heard from them in ages
They were my first live gig at Manchester Student Union and they blew me away. I was lucky enough to meet the three of them before Jon passed while working at a radio station, they ate the cookies I had made for a birthday at work that day. They were the 3 loveliest people you could hope to meet. I was then lucky enough to meet them again years later with Mark on drums at an after show in Portsmouth. Again, still so genuine and friendly. They obviously don't have much time as they try to meet everyone for a few minutes, but they are just such a good band!
Nice one lads, I knew there would be others out there with similar stories. They genuinely are the nicest guys in the business. I've also met Grant and Taka a few times and there is not a hint of an ego between them.
I remember waiting out the backstage of Birmingham O2 arena for their Kerrang show in 2010 and got the chance to meet them even though it was freezing. I gave them my banner I made about coming to Australia and they were the nicest chaps. They asked if I was going anywhere near Bridgwater the following day and I said I was going to London. If I had said I was going anywhere near Bridgwater, I wonder what they would have said given their concert was already sold out. Maybe a free ticket? :D
It feels like they have taken a tiny piece of everything good from every album before and combined it to make something amazing. This and Universe of Life are soooo good, i hope the album lives up to my current hype levels!
This is lining up to be their best album since...like forever. Oozes quality. Grant's solo time has done him so many favours on the creative side of things.
i love every feeder album, to say they take a bit of this and a bit of that...they change with the times, with what happens in their lives. the creative flow has never gone, it has just moved along with time. i have a different feeder album for each stage of my life and they just keep on filling me with joy. forget all the comparisons and just enjoy it because even though they are not huge anymore or rammed down the throats of the masses, there is something very special about feeder and the genius of grant nicholas...always
This outstanding band is non plus ultra! Sounds like Feeder and was never a copy of anything! Love it! The new album could easily be the record of the year!
Loved feeder since comfort in sound, an important album for me, n saw them for the first time at rock city a few weeks back.......... Jesus Christ they were awesome! This song...... live.......... there are no words. Can’t wait to see them again 👍
This song is nothing short of amazing. I can imagine at the end of the video when Grant and Taka look at each other, they're like 'yeah that went pretty well'...
Amazing song & video, really looking forward to the album now. I feel the long break and Grant's excellent solo project has worked wonders. Also liking the James Bay look for GN! Edit:- Here's my take on the lyrics; There’s these feelings that implode Pulling me apart out of control As I fall into despair Fever I shook the devil, by the hand Stole the whiskey from the mouth of a broken man From the ruins, through a town From the ashes through a forest across the land Give us hope give us love Give us freedom give us peace Hallelujah sing it back to me, if you believe There’s these feelings that implode Pulling me apart out of control As I fall into despair Fever There’s still thoughts, I receive And a voice that carries wisdom in the breeze As I look to the west A neon sign is glowing through the trees Give us hope give us love Give us freedom give us peace Hallelujah sing it back to me, if you believe There’s these feelings that implode Pulling me apart out of control As I fall into despair Fever There’s a reason I must go To a place where shadows guard my soul As I fall into despair Fever How could I forget Why would I forget Think of the alibis, so much for sacrifice How could I forget Why would I forget Caught in the eye of a hurricane I shook the devil, by the hand Stole the whiskey from the mouth of a broken man Fever, fever There’s these feelings that implode Pulling me apart out of control As I fall into despair Fever There’s a reason I must go To a place where shadows guard my soul As I fall into despair Fever
Green Day band & Feeder band going to release their albums on the same day October 7 2016 wow 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏😃😃😃😃Im a fan of both Feeder & Green Day love their songs.
I hate that though. There's so much misunderstanding when it comes to writing music. More than anything, it's for self-satisfaction and you hope the fans like it. You can't just return to old ways; that's not the way it works. You get older, you evolve, you change, it's natural. They couldn't write another Polythene, Echo Park, Comfort in Sound if they wanted to. It's just not how composition works. You just write your music as it comes and if you're happy you release it.
The Hobatron is exactly right. The worst part is that had Feeder just carried on releasing music similar to their older stuff, then the same fans that have walked away now would be complaining that they are a one trick pony who can't evolve with each CD. It's a lose-lose situation really. If you like a band that much, you'll hang around. I've seen Feeder a good few times now and have been following them for about 16 years (unfortunately I was late enough to the party). For me, even though their music did change over the years it still retained that "Feeder" feel underneath. These new tracks sound as amazing as anything I've ever heard Feeder release.
I agree. I feel like they weren't too happy with Silent Cry, then they experimented on Renegades and received good feedback from fans and have sort of kept that old rock sound. I like it.
Great vid! Looks and sounds great. Was worried we might have another Renegades on our hands after the first single, but this sounds more like Silent Cry which I loved! 😍
Grant, if you're reading this, can you give us the cool whisper you used to do like on Tinsel Town. I don't need it on every song, even though I wouldn't mind, but it's hard for an old Feeder fan to evolve to the new style. Silent Cry marked the change :(
Ok so I haven't listened to feeder for a long time heard some early stuff and own the singles album dont give me shit for not being up to date but been listening again recently and love what I hear please tell me what albums I should he looking for.
aside from the dogged Grantley looking a little unkempt here, this single is a superbly executed comeback. it's intriguing how they can be such an unappreciated spectacle, yet still remain a dynamically edgy act. YWTS, EP, and SC still have a particular place in my heart, and these guys will forever have my respect.
This song sounds way ahead of its time. At first audition, I believed it's been sung in the 90's, if not in the 2000's. Never imagined this could be as old as 1973. Good work, guys! Greetings from Bucharest!
It’s so good to have Feeder back in form, and that too with some of the heaviest music they’ve recorded ’til date. Play this one very loud (without disturbing your neighbours) and make sure to yell out “Fever” every single time during the chorus. It’s cathartic. #punkflop #TrackDrops #Feeder trackdrops.com/2016/11/23/eskimo-feeder/
Oh, my god this is so good. The guitar riffs soothe my soul, lol. Sometimes all I need is just simplistic sounds with truthful lyrics, no exaggeration, no over-loudness. Joy is in simplicity, yet this is awesome in a harmonious way.
I feel like all the rock bands conspired to return in 2016! Greenday, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sum 41, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World and now FEEDER! WHAT?!!! Someone please get The Offspring to make a comeback too!
The Offspring started making albums that were too short. I don't know about you, but I'm not very pleased about paying £12 for 42 minutes of music. /rant
I just realized they've got a new record. I own GF on vinyl..... and now I want this on vinyl, damn. This song would go so well on vinyl, and I want echo park!

Painfully underappreciated band.
WillAIC132 i think All Bright Electric got into the top 10 in the album charts
WillAIC132 Couldn't agree more
@@tommcglone2867 but should be number 1 so underrated
Outside of Europe they're virtually unknown, though, which is too bad.
@@johnd5931 not even big in Europe

What you thought of the album?
This is lining up to be their best album since...like forever.
Oozes quality. Grant's solo time has done him so many favours on the creative side of things.
Still can't get over the fact I worked on this video shoot. Nicest group of guys I've ever met, video turned out so much better than I was imagining!
you lucky devil :) tell us more !!!!
This video sounds and looks amazing :)
Natalie Thirsk - really like the video...one of Feeders best!
Wow Mike Conville really embarrassed for you there, No one found that funny. Either that or your just a lonely pervert.

Dennis Fang hype is over 9000
This is the most solid album I've heard from anyone, start to finish, in a long time. Loving it.
Great song

i love every feeder album, to say they take a bit of this and a bit of that...they change with the times, with what happens in their lives. the creative flow has never gone, it has just moved along with time. i have a different feeder album for each stage of my life and they just keep on filling me with joy. forget all the comparisons and just enjoy it because even though they are not huge anymore or rammed down the throats of the masses, there is something very special about feeder and the genius of grant nicholas...always
I had half year of life when i slept for 3 hours a day and felt every morning like trash. This album been making me concious in three songs.
I like the part from 00:00 to 3:45. What a tune!
That's certainly the best bit
Saw these guys in Norwich when they bought this album out. Amazing to say the least, criminally under rated

Return of Feeder !!! Yeah !!!
Amazing song & video, really looking forward to the album now. I feel the long break and Grant's excellent solo project has worked wonders. Also liking the James Bay look for GN!
Edit:- Here's my take on the lyrics;
There’s these feelings that implode
Pulling me apart out of control
As I fall into despair
Fever
I shook the devil, by the hand
Stole the whiskey from the mouth of a broken man
From the ruins, through a town
From the ashes through a forest across the land
Give us hope give us love
Give us freedom give us peace
Hallelujah sing it back to me, if you believe
There’s these feelings that implode
Pulling me apart out of control
As I fall into despair
Fever
There’s still thoughts, I receive
And a voice that carries wisdom in the breeze
As I look to the west
A neon sign is glowing through the trees
Give us hope give us love
Give us freedom give us peace
Hallelujah sing it back to me, if you believe
There’s these feelings that implode
Pulling me apart out of control
As I fall into despair
Fever
There’s a reason I must go
To a place where shadows guard my soul
As I fall into despair
Fever
How could I forget
Why would I forget
Think of the alibis, so much for sacrifice
How could I forget
Why would I forget
Caught in the eye of a hurricane
I shook the devil, by the hand
Stole the whiskey from the mouth of a broken man
Fever, fever
There’s these feelings that implode
Pulling me apart out of control
As I fall into despair
Fever
There’s a reason I must go
To a place where shadows guard my soul
As I fall into despair
Fever
Love it, will be an amazing album!

This band is amazing, can't believe how few views this has!

This is some of the first Borderlands top of the line shit.
Anybody else noticed that there seems to be a 'religious' theme flowing through the album?... However it's an epic album though !
FEEDER FOR WEYFEST 2017!!!!!
