  • I recently purchased the Toaks alcohol burner called "The Siphon". It's a great alcohol stove. My only concern was the pot stand that came with it. I plan to fabricate my own stand. The flame pattern resembles the capillary hoop style of burners.
I also bought the Toaks 650ml pot w/ lid. Since purchasing this kit, I have used the pot on several weekend trips and it has replaced my MSR Titan Kettle. This pot is perfect for one person meals and freezer bag cooking.

I mostly use the Toaks burner with the pot from my MiniMo cook set on a homemade hardware cloth stand. A wrap of foil tape on the hardware cloth is the wind screen.(no set up, can never fall over or blow away) The pot is 7oz and I can boil 2 cups in about 3 minutes. With my 550ml Toaks cup I gain 4 oz but use twice the fuel each time I boil water. Takes about 6 minutes. Each has their benefits and like you I enjoy testing different setups. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent video, have to say the Toaks Syphon burner is very impressive and works well with an up ended Evernew cross stand , a real keeper.

Does the pot have measurement markings?

+Randy Winbush It does not. The new 750ml pot does, however. I picked up the 750ml pot specifically for the measurements for when I need specific amounts of water and I use the 650ml for when exact measurements aren't needed. Thanks for watching.

I agree with the reviewer that this gear is great. I own the Toaks LIGHT 650 and have published a comprehensive review (including a boil test vs. wider aluminium pot). Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/8OKfF9wQfpw/w-d-xo.html
