The cactus is called Nopales in Spanish. Its a staple in most Mexican household's and can be used in a variety of ways. Fry it up with your eggs and add some salsa on top. Mix it into pico de gallo salsa and serve it with carne asada. Put some on top of your grilled soft tacos, etc. Hope you try it different ways.

Cactus or Nopales in Spanish is a really common food in Mexico because it is abundant and easy to grow. It’s super high in antioxidants and my family’s favorite way to eat it is grilled and in a burrito as a meat replacement.
And sometimes it can be put into beans or frijoles

Hi! Reporting from the south. The song we sang was “Crack a dila dila dila, oh my my my. Mexican people love those pickled cactus. How my family usually makes it is we strain it mix it with small diced tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and you put it on a tostada with a small dollop of sour cream and little bit of queso fresco sprinkled on top so good 😋🌵🍅🧅🥒

i’m from wa state and i never did any version of your song but we did a song similar to the first one from the tik tok you showed. it was “quack diddly oso quack quack quack, singin’ samarico, rico rico rico, flora flora, flora flora flora, 1, 2, 3, 4” and whoever it landed on 4 was out. i’ve seen threads before of different versions of that song from people around the country, it’s so interesting how there’s regional versions.

The way most Mexican households consume cactus is making it into a salad: the cooked cactus, diced tomato and onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt to taste. Typically on a tostada :) my parents also like to eat it with scrambled eggs lol
