23 Year-Old Girl Freezes Head Without Body to Live Forever

- What if I told you that there might be a way to time travel?
All you have to do is wait and chill for a couple of centuries. Easy right? Okay, it might be a little more complicated than that.
In my last video, I talked about people miraculously surviving after being under ice for extended periods of time.
In this video, we’re going to talk about people PURPOSELY freezing themselves through cryonics- a fancy word which here means the process of freezing a corpse and storing it until a theoretical time in the future when technology has advanced enough to bring the person back to life.

I mean at least you would get it then and live many many millennium with everyone. yeah you missed a few centuries, but in the big picture its not so bad.
@@Awsomander The human body can only take so much information. The longer you live, the less useful your older memories are, so they fade and eventually disappear. So after a certain point it wouldn't feel like you're getting older (mentally) anymore. After a while people would probably get bored, and living would be more of an inconvenience. It's weird to think about.
@@f.b.i6889 or when we can revive people, perhaps technology is good enough to improve our memory and brain capacity.

Yeah you can't just reenergize a frozen brain willy nilly... while the tissue is preservable it's the synaptic connections that are lost. And those are barely able to be observable in any useful regard let alone measured in the needed regard to be replicated later. So even if you were revived you probably wouldn't remember anything. Learning to breathe and move again would also likely be a huge undertaking in a new body. It's possible it's just you would need a substancially more advanced and different system.
Actually, this is almost 100% what will happen. Human cells, and fatty structures like myelin are mostly water. Water expands when it is frozen. Guess what happens then when they're frozen to "preserve" them? THEY BURST, or fracture, or are damaged at the very least.
Imagine being frozen only to realise once you were in there, your brain activity is normal and you have to endure boredom of just sitting there for 200 years!
Or an infinite dream
Imagine counting each of the seconds and then wake up to rmb you are a science genius and help out some village to learn some science while fighting a clan of muscular dude tribe.

My fear is you actually would be awake inside your own mind while frozen in time and no one can hear you you are just there alone with your thoughts for 100-1000 of years. It’s just like when someone time people get into surgery and are awake in their head and are feeling all the pain but can’t wake up.
@Xafty yeah but it's still a phobia, irrational fear
Actually that's possible since brain is sometimes functional for a few seconds after death so if they preserve it before it is completely shut off then who knows maybe your brain just sits there playing your life and being confused as to what happened

These people may have family, relatives and if they are rich can pay someone to check on them.
There’s a chance some of these people won’t even get revived properly. They’ll probably have to test out a few bodies to see if they can get it right.
Well, they could always try with freezing new bodies to thaw. Maybe grow a body with most of the organs, freeze it, and thaw it a few months later in trial runs.
Or animals, I'm sure they will try with them first, even with how different they are, and whether or not you think that would be cruel.
@@adamofblastworks1517 they actually tested that already, in the 60s. I think Tom Scott has a video with the the leading scientist on the project. They were actually succesful and could reanimate completely frozen hamsters, with a make-shift microwave (built from a RAF Radar System and a timer). The issue is that you have to heat up the body evenly. It's possible with small animals, but not with a human. A human is just to big to evenly heat up everything at the same time.
The hamsters survived, and they did live a normal lifespan.

Dio : "Interesting."
Imagine being frozen for uncounted years and then see JoJo part 8 still ongoing.
Jan is Dio
Why do i feel like jojolion will go till 2030...
Nah imagine being crypresered for 1000 years and see one piece still hasnt ended
Araki is a vampire after all

Ancient Egyptian mummies find themselves put on display in museums and have even been ground up and eaten as jerky.
History may repeat itself only that these people will end up as fresh meat popsicles from the past.
How thoughtful of us.

Ok, but you know what I mean. We don't know what could happen to us or the planet in the next 500 years
@@PhilVillagerOffical There's been substantial evidence that global warming already happened on our planet and is just a normal ciclus like ice age or global cooling.
@@darkrider1878 It is obvious tho, that the masses of greenhouse gases being emmited, e.g. through burning of fossil fuels, are an unnatural cause of rising temperatures.

Keanu Reeves doesn't need cryogenics. He just never grows old.
Vampire!?!?!?
Paintings in history proves this.

Imagine that one dude who cryogenically freezes himself the day just before scientists find out how to bring people back to life

Oh boii is this the future.
No sir, we figured out how to revive people just last night.

i mean he will be out first. sweet drams

I can’t believe you had a clip of Captain Caveman. I loved that cartoon as a kid!
Cryopreserve me until the Anime World Portal is opened.

All of them basically died hoping the future will have a method to revive the dead 🤔
i mean if the body is perfectly preserved we'll probably have a cure for cancer and stuff. not to mention you can come back after "death" in (i think) an 8 hour span of time. I bet it'll work in the next hundred years or so, at least for some patients.
That’s what I’m saying these ppl died before they was frozen is not like they was frozen alive
@King Sassy No, that would be irresponsible and misleading
Yea but its kinda the same as skipping a quistoin in a test and hoping your futer self wil know the awnser
@@god-om7sl Well, assuming you continue to learn, I see no reason why your future self wouldn't know the answer at some point

If my head is ever cut off and I'm frozen in cryonics for 100 years, bring me the body of a Joestar.
Especially if the body the Joestar belonged to is called Jonathan.
Ah is this a jojo reference
The idea itself seems outlandish, but i guess for someone who's only in their 20s or younger, i can see why they might want to hope that someday cryogenic revitalization works.
Best wishes, and good luck, Kim.
future scientists: *revives a frozen human*
patient: "u guys did it u figured out how to defreeze human and cure cancer!"
future scientists whom have not yet cured cancer: *immediately refreezes*
Someone did find a cure but he was shut down because it would have wrecked the economy if ppl could get the cure almost free. They make money off of the populations suffering and need to visit a doctor and get meds that may or may not help.
J D imagine not knowing that there are many different types of cancers that each require their own method of curing?
@@JonJonWilli and where did you get this information?
@@SneakyBeaky1 Lol, why do people keep asking for "a cure for cancer" when they could step it up ask for "a cure for diseases". I mean, since they're asking for a whole spectrum of incredibly different diseases to be cured by one single molecule, they must as well make that spectrum just a bit larger.
But try telling that to people, when it's just so much simple to blame an imaginary man of having that molecule and not release it, in fear of becoming a multi-billionnaire, I guess.

I like how when he talks about the body having puncture marks and labels it as "Vampire?" but he said earlier how the blood is removed :

How would putting someone in cryo who’s already passed even help? Wouldn’t all of the brain cells have died at that point? Sure, there may be something there with stem cells, but you’d have no memories at all. I’m no neuroscientist though.
exactly youre not a neuroscientist
@Walter Willinger cope
I assume they're hoping for a technological breakthrough that can revive cells, but there's no hope of revival of the cells have already rotted away/broken apart. People get amnesia all the time and recover, it's just these guys might have no one to remind them of their past.
