Mine arrived two days ago. Impression: the bezel is rock solid, with minimal play. The date rolls over just around midnight. I changed the bracelet for a Submariner Homage strap I paid £30 for on eBay. It was only after I changed it that I noted that the only significant difference between the two was that my clasp was quite a bit better, but the fitted strap really is pretty good, for £22.Bit early yet to discuss the accuracy of the movement but it's looking like a second every couple of hours. It seems that I got a good one, in terms of finish. Lucky me.

My friend's girlfriend came to me a few years ago, very excited before yuletide because she had brought him a watch as a gift. She had thought about asking me for advice, but she found this really great deal and just had to go for it. Anf guess what, $250 for a DW that has the most generic and boring design ever. I told her she could hsve picked up a Timex mk I for a third of the price and spent the rest on a nice pocket knife or a Swiss Army Knife, (which is two things he collects). I didn't have the heart to tell her my honest opinion on the watch she had bought because she was really excited and I knew she wouldn't get a refund. I think he would be happy for a Timex mk I and a SAK, especially since we're both heavy MacGyver fans. On the other hand I rarely wore the watch, now they've broken up, and he has a smartwatch. Why does everyone have these smartwatches, don't they know smart means stupid in commercial and official terminology?? And who do you think is smarter, the dildos who programs the smartwatches or the gentlemen who designs movements in Geneve?

Good review, I agree with your reasoning. Why save up for an expensive $200-$500,00 watch for a daily use. If this watch gets beat up, who cares? But if you take care of this watch I'll bet it also lasts as long as an Invicta or a Seiko. Perlative is actually a word. Nothing to do with chronometers though.
Perlative case (abbreviated PER) "expresses that something moved 'through', 'across', or 'along' the referent of the noun that is marked." The case is found in a number of Australian Aboriginal languages for example Kuku-Yalanji, in Aymara, Inuktitut, and in the extinct Tocharian languages.

After watching this video on 11/01/17 I bought one of these Tevise T801 watches from Gearbest and to my amazement it is still working as of 01/30/19 and looks really good for a homage timepiece. I do not wear it very often, but when I do I'm sure no one who sees it knows it is a $18.00. watch. The watch gains about 30 seconds a day but that is OK with me.
I give the watch a thumbs UP !!

Got my Perlative Ceronometer about 10 days ago. Was inspired by yours and my other favorite watch reviewers' reviews. At the price I thought it was worth the risk. My observations are with the price taken into account. I wasnt blessed with a box, but packed in a plastic bag with plenty of bubble wrap around. There is protective plastic over the bracelet, bezel and the back case. The bezel is wobbly as described by you. The finish is not so bad all around. No sharp edges as on more expensive watches. The bracelet seems ok, but has quite a bit of rattle, as usual in this price range. The watch is quite a bit bigger and chunkier than a Submariner. And the cons - many reviews has stated them too. The date is a bit off set compared to the date window. And the worst, the rotor seems to be not spinning as it should. It has been described by other owners that a days use is not enough to power the watch for a night. And the watch is not very nice to handwind, probably due to the large crown guards. The Tevise logo on the rotor seems to be a sticker put on top. But at $20-25, you get more watch than you pay for IMHO. But if you're looking for a daily beater and not a casual wearer in the same style, save op for a bit longer and get a Casio MDV, or an Invicta 8926.

So, we joke and call it the 100 motherfuckers watch. Paid like $15.19 for it. Automatic, with display case back too. But it broke after a very short time.
And I just bought a white/silver dial version of this Tevise and it says (instead of Perlative Ceronometer) "Carnival HWGUOJI"

Took the plunge and sent for the green hulk version thru Amazon , arrived in a jiffy bag 🤣 but well wrapped with tags and pretty much covered in protective plastic.
They seem to have improved the bezel issue that people have previously noted , mines is tight and has good movement. Set the time against my mobile and now still holding good after initial 24hrs. Also the rotor moves easy enough too , so maybe they've sorted that too or I'm lucky enough to get a good one. For £16 including postage that arrived in ten days from China to Glasgow , I can't complain. Enjoying your work , mate 👍

Update, I bought two of these.
The first I wore daily as a work beater and it fell apart in about a month.
The second one I wear occasionally
and treat like my other non beater watches.
It runs about +36 seconds a day and with a couple winds before bed it is still running the next morning.
It survived a two hour dunk in a glass of water with no leaks, so better water resistance than I expected.
It still works and looks the same after a year not abused.
I'm happy for the $18 I spent on it.
Besides mine is an original perlative
cerenometer! Not a superlative chronometer like the newer ones.

PROS - gorgeous dial (enthusiasts ask about it often), above average steel bracelet.
CONS - difficult to put the steel bracelet back on (poor design for the pins), 4 hour power reserve, pearl fell out, only 3 atm water resistance, which is not resistant at all.

I got this thing in the mail (1 1/2 months after ordering) and it was...ok. It took a little bit of tapping to get it to start, but it actually keeps time better than I thought it would. Maybe +/- 10 seconds a day? The rotor on mine is very tight and doesn't really spin all that well, but to my surprise you can hand wind it! The clasp on mine is different than yours. There's no safety latch and just has a single push button deployant on it which isn't super tight and will pop open once in a while if you're not careful. Been wearing it at work to see how it holds up and it seems to be doing well. The only real problem is that bezel. Really, really loose. I'll have it lined up and a few moments later after maybe brushing up against something it has turned on me a bit. Also has that back-play on it and moves up and down, left to right. I am surprised that it works as well as it does for the $20 USD I paid, but I'll be replacing it with a Casio Duro on a NATO strap. Anyhow, just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone is thinking about picking one of these up. Thanks and cheers!

i got mine in about 2 weeks. my bezel has some back play but is tighter that it seems yours is, or the one in the video here. my rotor seems fluid enough, but for some reason the power reserve is really poor. had it 2 days now and it already stopped twice (while i was wearing it). I expected it to stop whilst I was asleep, so not counting that.

Mine also runs about 15 second fast and the rotor wobble is undetectable when wearing. I just passed the year mark of owning it and it's still working great. I didn't get as good of a price as you. I paid ~$45 for mine. I will buy another model from them, I'm sure. If anyone reading this has been on the fence about buying a Tevise, I would suggest pulling the trigger. After this video, I chased the link and purchased one of the best Tevise 801a watches in December, 2019. It arrived in two weeks.
Mine has a different bracelet with a single side clasp, and the dial has been updated to read, "Superlative Chronometer". The bezel is sloppy and loose, but the dial is beautifully made and has generated comments from others. The watch is windable and keeps good time, within a minute or two over a week.
There are some particular glitches, including that the be watch just Stopped one day! I can found it a few hours after I'd set it down, and it was wound up and keeping good time, but it had stopped. I shook the watch and it began ticking, so I hand would it... And no trouble since. Weird.
Anyway, it's light, cheap and fun to wear.

Mine arrived yesterday - I think I ordered it on November 10th from Ali Express Mobile. With vouchers it cost £14.17 shipped. I went for the all black (PVD?) one. The rotor moves freely and the only problem I had was pulling the crown out to position 2, but I got there in the end. So far it is keeping excellent time. I have it on a NATO as I haven't figured out how to resize the bracelet. It seems a real bargain to me and I don't mind the rubbish on the dial as I quite like these oriental misspellings of English. I think it's great for the money. Thanks, J1MW, for the heads up!

I got one this week and It's hilarious fum. Mine came from Hong Kong in a plastic bag DOA. The end of the hairspring was loose but with careful prodding it slotted into place. The bracelet is unpleasant, the ends and latch are bendy pressed sheet metal, now has a NATO strap. The chrome has already worn through in places and the case has un-smoothed edges on the lugs. The bezel movement is just nasty and uses a bit of bent wire as a spring with huge slack motion. That said, it keeps time, looks amazing from a distance and I'm going to wear it until it breaks.

HadoKing Hello Mr. Hadoking may ask you want do u mean by the person who buy this watch taking a punt ? I am considering buying this watch and I have researched on search engine but people are saying different things about it, one person say that it is "trash" the other person say that it's really good specially for the price and that it hadn't given them any problem, and other person says that it's a hit or miss in that it is a mushroom brand (I dunno what that means) and that you can either get a bargain hidden gem that will work perfectly or a garbage that will stop working. So I am conflicted, and I don't wanna be deceived even if its very affordable!

Brenda princesa Lindaa it just means you might be just throwing your money away. You might get one that works fine, but you might get one that doesn't. And basically if it doesn't work it'll cost more to send back or fix than the watch costs. It's potentially a gamble.

The Tevise represents a couple very different things. 1) From a mechanical standpoint I greatly appreciate that the J1MW guy actually did an ACCURACY test on the movement. If we're not testing movements, we have no business talking about watches. What this watch represents is that an automatic watch can now be manufactured outside of Switzerland or Japan (and their official contractors in other countries) with reasonable accuracy. I would bet this watch could be regulated within COSC specs. It's quite likely the Tevise movement is made on machines being used to supply parts to the Swiss anyway. For $22 someone should tear it apart. What it shows is that with modern CNC machines (which China has thanks to the Swiss and Germans) there is no magic pixie dust when it comes to making a reasonably accurate watch anywhere on the planet. 2) Economic Warfare. For $22 it's obviously being dumped not only far below market *wholesale* cost, but possibly at less than the raw materials/labor used to make it. The watch is being subsidized for a purpose. When America was a functioning republic we used something called tariffs to take care of such dumping. If Australia (and other countries) were also functioning, they'd slap a $500 import tax on this. One need only ask what other countries' watch industries (both current and future potential) are the target of this economic warfare.

I just had to get one of these. Just under $20.00 usd shipped, it made no sense. So about 10 days later here it is, iconic looking just as you described it. Just out of the box, ok tin, I show it to my son and he really likes it. He's been the recipient of my cast offs, including another iconic diver the Seiko skx007j which I can't remember seeing on his wrist. So was pleased but a little surprised he showed a marked interest in it. It ( Tevise ) has become a daily wearer, sort of a gateway watch. At the week mark the crystal has chipped in a couple place. He is in his 3rd year at university but does the typical car repair, like any part time employed college student. No complaints though, just ordered another one and when it comes the local jeweller will substitute a saphire crystal ( another $20.00 for the crystal plus labor) and all should be good. I know it may sound silly but he likes the watch.

Your "torture test" finding is actually consistent with its wr rating. 30m means that it will probably survive a rainstorm on the wrist, but not much more and that holds true for *any* watch. A watch needs 50m or greater to survive a faucet, shower or (surface) swimming.

Luckily their return policy is pretty decent. Then again, what can you expect for a $22 watch. I've had a Fngeen automatic for over a year now and it ticks steady at +/- 6 secs a day, so that is pretty good for a $11 watch :) Again, just be careful, not all might be that good

Looks good on the wrist, and at this point, how many people are going to be examining your watch up close enough to read the details? I dig it for what I paid, and I'll put it into the rotation for a while. If you don't like it, save your money...put about 5-8 times the price together and find something else? OK, this is a watch that you can use when you are building a house, or any other tough job that leaves any watch in shambles after a couple of months. This one will have scratches all over, but so will your expensive watch, with ceramic bezel and sapphire glass...Mine runs +10 seconds a day, looks good and for $22,- you can't go wrong. The only alternative is...wearing no watch at all so you don't know what time it is...

Just got mine yesterday , and yes , bezel is crap unfortunately, but heck for 20Euro can't be beat. It's slightly larger than a standard Sub Homage, but I don't mind it .. It's smaller than my Casio MDV-106 anyway. It's a good size for most I think . One thing that striked me is the height of it... that see-thru caseback is quite high, and makes things worse on a Nato. Accuracy seems to be fine for a day's use. +/- 60 sec is more than enough for me, and I think mine is less than that. My only gripe is it seems to be very difficult to wind it manually . For some reason it's quite stiff , or maybe cannot get a good purchase on the crown due to the bezel. Either way I love it. Bracelet is actually quite good, but I wanted mine on Nato's so I removed it immediately. If I ever get the black/gold one , ill prob use this strap so that I have less 'gold' on the watch. I just ordered the green version today ( yes less than 24 hours after I received the black one ) , and that will prob go on a brownish leather type Nato . If you're into budget watches anyway , might as well snag one up now. I suspect that with all these reviews going on, the prices will soon be jacked up to $35+ .

Its not a real dive watch because it has minimal w/r; crown and back do not screw down. It is surprisingly accurate, so far...

The under $20 automatic dive type watch is quite a challenging category. When you consider that this watch has bracelet links that are mostly solid, the clasp links are solid, the overall finish and polishing are good, it is truly amazing. The rotor is quiet and the watch does not rattle when shaken. All of it's flaws can be almost overlooked!

Just got one for lulz. The face is not perfectly centered but otherwise it’s working.
I don’t recommend it. Either go for a casio or seiko under 100$ or a Parnis.
But if you’re like me and only care about cheap stuff that works it’s good for the price :3

No, just no. I've been on this cheap route before, numerous times to be honest but in the end, it is worth saving a little bit more for an automatic Seiko, Citizen or Vostok if budget is on the tight side.

This is a great watch. Bought on a NATO strap. Runs similar to the nh35 movement in terms of accuracy. It just works. Excellent value.

put a black rubber strap on mine, looks very nice indeed, only coz the adjustment of the metal bracelet was either too tight or too slack 👍

I bought 2 after watching this one to keep with steel bracelet & one to change to a NATO strap, both look good, no play in my bezel either but..... BOTH need winding every day and BOTH have a rotor which is too tight to swing freely enough to wind. Neither lose a lot of time over 24 hrs but the winding is becoming tedious.
Recently bought a new Oris online in January sales at goldsmiths (UK) when I took it in to have some links out, the young chap mistook it for a Rolex (with a 'Bond' NATO strap).
