- In this video we will be ranking each installment from the NBA 2K franchise from the best to the worst. Remember as you’re watching that this list is completely subjective and up to debate, however the list is heavily influenced by community feedback and reaction to each year’s game. If you have opinions different than mine, please leave them down in the comments. Also, because of how dramatically gaming has changed since the release of the original NBA 2K, we’ll only be ranking the most recent 10 installments to keep things fair. I agree. I have to say though, 2k12 is a close second and how this is near the bottom is beyond me. NBA 2K12 shouldn't be near the bottom. The gameplay tweaks from 11, new postup moves, the added classic teams with bench players, soundtrack, just awesome gameplay and awesomeness. In many aspects I like it more than 11. Just wish 12 got more love. ;'( 13 is good, but he didn't mention that you couldn't block dunks, that was a HUGE issue and never patched.

2K11. Man the game didn’t have any animation cheese, the CPU was challenging not as easy as today, and of course it introduced the classic teams and the Jordan challenges.

Dude...2k11 gave me my best video game memories since I started on Atari back in 1983.
For me 2k18 is beyond the worst 2k game to ever been thought of. But, my top 2 favorites are 2k16 and 2k14

Can't speak for the titles prior to 2k11.
I still own a Xbox 360 and have 11-12-13 ,and 14 all the way up to 22 on my Series X.
Playing all these titles today probably gives you a different perspective on things.
I think 11+12 is two great games (content etc) but rough to play animation wise.
Still play every now and then.
More modern games.
14 stands out to me a lot ,still looks great ,still see things I haven't seen in more modern titles ,like hard fouls , animations are still top notch.
The games I play today is 14-20-22 ,not saying they're the best one's , but the one's I enjoy the most.
I'm a offline player , Myleague/myNba and for me the franchise got really good when introducing player lock and simcast ,not having to play full games ,but still having 4x12 qtrs and stats that follows.

In my opinion I just loved 2k17. That will always be my favorite
2K11 is the last NBA game I've owned and enjoyed. What really engaged me in 2K11 was the fact that I would play with player lock on and just be my player through out the entire game and if the cpu was open or cutting to the basket I would pass the ball and they would take the shot or dunk or layup. Also if I was running around and eventually got open the cpu would pass me the ball the Ai was pretty smart it made me really feel as if I was playing with my teammates. Since then there have been player lock in some of the later NBA games but the cpu didn't pass you the ball if you got open or was cutting to the basket. You had to call for the ball and even then it was sketchy. Furthermore if I pass the cpu the ball they would hardly ever take the open shot I would have to take the shot for the cpu. I don't like controlling other players I want to feel like I'm playing on a team and I'm not the whole team but after 2k11 it seems as though the Ai was dumb downed and the play of the game started taking a negative turn.
I disagree with 2k12 being second last. They did remove the Jordan mode but they added in the NBA Greatest mode which you can play as more legends like Magic Johnson or Isiah Thomas etc and play pivotal games of history. And the presentation is second to none in my opinion

How you dont mention 2k12 legends mode to unlock teams by recreating the team and players biggest moments not to mention the visual and audio effects to match ,, I wish they bring that mode back super underrated
My mother in-law just surprised me with NBA 2k11! She had just gave me an old Xbox 360, and she went to bookman's and when o got off work she was visiting and had the game for me!!! Excited to play now😁

NBA 2k16 was dope, not sure what is was... but I was hooked... nobody wanted to see me online with Phoenix! Gameplay was soooooooo smooth!

Pretty accurate. And just fyi MyLeague was introduced in 2k15. I hate that there was a list saying that 2k13 was one of the worst. I also hate looking back at old videos of people saying 2k14 sucked. TBH they suck for not getting new consoles, instead they played NBA2k13.5 on the old console. 2k is still leagues ahead of Live. I hate that people say 2k17 and 2k18 sucked.

2K17 to me has always been the best 2K. But for different reasons like the shooting quality and gameplay compared to other games. Even recent like 2K20.
On 2k17 is so hard to get inside and commit contact dunk.. The AI so good on defense idk if they had super brick wall? So hard to get contact dunk
Not even in 2k19,2k20 and 2k15..i can contact dunk on my career but in 2k17 its really hard.
