What a beautiful watch! Love the bronze and blue!! And I can totally relate to overcoming obstacles my left leg has been paralyzed due to compartment syndrome for just over a year now and I'm finally just learning how to walk again now! Total inspiration telling this story teddy thank you!
I couldn’t even imagine how much in love I will be with this watch. Pulled the trigger and please trust me… if you fancy one, get it while you can, before it will be sold out. It has to be seen in person and handle it to fully appreciate it!
Love love love what Oris is doing and where it's going. I've been thinking a new entry Swiss watch such as Tudor, Tissot, and Heuer, but I am now considering my first Swiss piece in Oris!
I have this watch. The movement in this....the new cal 401 could be one of the best movements I've ever had in a watch and it just looks amazing and feels perfect to wear. Keeps better time than my Datejust 2 Rolex and Omega aqua terra which both have in house movement's. The lume is nice but not the greatest like a planet ocean or breitling but i do have a couple of seikos with lumi bright which probably have the best lume out there. Wish the dial had a little less writing on it but that would be my only issue. Apart from that i can't fault this watch much at all. Wears and looks amazing and is just starting to have that beautiful bronze look to it after around 6 weeks of wear. When first purchased it looked almost rose gold. Absolutely stunning piece.
Lovely watch, despite the unusual water resistance given its inspiration. Loved the sweeping shots that were in time with the seconds hand, that made the filmmaker in me so satisfied that you got the timing of the camera sweep to match. Well done Teddy, you're putting out some brilliant videos recently.
This is the review I have been waiting for. Thanks for this Teddy. I have been meaning to buy an Oris since a while and this seems to be the perfect option. I am a sucker for blue dials and the case will patina over time which will add a lot of character to the watch.
watch looks fantastic however the one I purchased from the AD was a faulty one with the Watch running +10minutes every hour don’t know how so returned back
Great looking watch and strap. I predominantly use these Erika MN straps on my dive watches. I love natos and rubber but nothing compares to these in terms of look and comfort. I do think they’re overpriced tho, otherwise I’d buy many more in different color combos.
Thanks for including lug to lug in the measurements so helpful for wearability when including thickness and dial size - bronze and navy 👌🏻 keen to see if any quality issues as with first in-house caliber reported
Thank you for this video. I was waiting for this. And yes, this watch is FOR me. Hope I can find a few pieces of this in 2022 as I got to buy a railmaster in 2021
The 100m of WR matches the original 60's watch and the general standard at the time so that's the reason Oris is sticking with it today. Either get over it or buy an aquis. I'd also bet 99% of those whining about it in the comments don't dive at all and the depths of their pool or hot tub is the deepest they go 🙄
I love the watch and the story behind it. Also love the brand and own an Oris Pointer Date myself. But I was really surprised to discover the price. I can understand the R&D explanation but I am a bit sadden to see Oris prices going that up with their new movement while they were on the more affordable scale of luxury watch market so far. For the spec (only 100m for a dive watch for example- it is important for more than 99% of people I think.), I think it's too much and that people will turn more easily to brands better known for beeing in that range (like tudor for example).
A top review Teddy, the history behind Carl was very well explained and for me very much appreciated. This piece is one to look out for. I'm so pleased that Oris have so much confidence in the new in house movements to offer the 10 year warranty.
I am not 100 percent sure about the hour hand and the minute hand on this watch, but the seconds sub dial looks INSANE. It would be everything but surprising if Oris will release more watches with this sub dial configuration in combination with their caliber 401. I only hope that the prices of those watches will come down quite a bit... Other than that, one more great video with fantastic micro shots, Teddy!
So pretty!! I'm just curious on how it'll age. Having had some bronze stuff leave green marks on my skin and clothes before, I'm not sure it's a good idea for a watch 🤔
Hey Teddy, i'm a big fan of your content. Will you feature Union Glashütte on your channels at some point? I think they deliver excellent quality for the money. I wondered why i couldn't find a Video from you about them, since you are quite into German Watches.😊
I think it’s great but at 4500 bucks it’s too much. I think the aquis was already priced at the top end of Oris’ range. Now they added an extra grand for a watch that has lesser specs except for the bronze
My friend, great video, thank you, I like your stile. You are like a Silent Killer!!! Now on your comment concerning the price for watches with 400 movement the answer is simple, the movement at that price is good for the consumer. I interpreted that you are advising Oris to steep up their prices with watches that are using 400 movements, please correct me if I am wrong. I know from a marketing point of view this statement is valid, but you have to remember this watch is only 100 meters and is not only a diver, is representing “The Diver”. So why is missing that prestige that a 200 meters or higher would had given the piece and refining it. I think they should have thought of that and then sell the it for around $5700, easily. Oris is still producing outstanding pieces with their modified Selita movements at a great price. Oris is making affordable watches for middle class citizens. I have one daughter in college and another in 9th grade and I still was able to acquire 4 Oris pieces. When I am wearing one of them I know I have the best watch for the money. In my opinion Oris is making better watches than Tudor for half of the money. Also you forgot to mention that this watch comes with a very thin gold plated treatment that prevents the process of Petina stains. Only until the watch is sold and the owner start wearing the process starts. Also remind the buyer that from then on the watch will be unique due to its interaction with the watch!!! It is a very important marketing tool to sell this watch. Thank you for your videos and knowledge!!!
Fantastic video content! I especially enjoyed learning about Carl Brashear. A true champion at heart and resolve. Is some of the extra revenue of the watch being donated to the Carl Brashear Foundation?
Es un bonito reloj pero Oris ha cometido un error en el dial ya que en la indicación de 100M debe decir 100 m debido a que la unidad de longitud en el sistema internacional de unidades es m y no M, saludos👍
I bought the 'Pilot Oris Big Crown' and dislike the astonishingly imprecise movement of the watch (losing about 10 seconds a day! Any Mickey Mouse watch does better!). I would not buy an 'Oris' time piece again for that very reason. To pay 4 Grand for a fairly unremarkable watch (except the bronze colour) with a questionable movement is certainly not something I would spend my money on. There are better quality watches around for a lot less. The myth of Swiss precision gave way to disillusionment. I am back to wearing my carbon fibre, titanium 'Casio Gravity Master', because I need real time, all the time.
"Men of Honor" is a movie about Carl (played by Cuba Gooding Jr). One of my favorites. Amazing movie.
Cookie ! 🍪 Lol

🙌
My favorite watch from Oris. That blue dial and bronze combo is stunning, aling with the bubble crystal.. and a fantastic story

Absolutely amazing man, amazing story also. This is a fantastic watch too which is suiting to the man.
Carl Brashear was the man! Great background on a legendary guy I wasn’t familiar with.
watch looks fantastic however the one I purchased from the AD was a faulty one with the Watch running +10minutes every hour don’t know how so returned back

An appropriate man to honor with a brass dive watch. Truly a man among men.

Yes I find the price to be unrealistic for ORIS
I love the watch and the story behind it. Also love the brand and own an Oris Pointer Date myself. But I was really surprised to discover the price. Been waiting for this review since I saw this watch on your Instagram, beautiful watch!
This is a very enjoyable video, I learned something about Carl Brashear. And what a watch!
A top review Teddy, the history behind Carl was very well explained and for me very much appreciated. This piece is one to look out for. I'm so pleased that Oris have so much confidence in the new in house movements to offer the 10 year warranty.
There is a movie on carl brashear also.
A beautiful watch. Not sure if I would take this over a tudor bb 58 though.

Yeah the seconds sub dials something about it is just so nice
Lovely watch. Man i wishh they offered it in those cotton candy colors. Sort of would pay tribute to looking past color in a way.
Loved the movie with Deniro and CG Jr. ...
So pretty!! I'm just curious on how it'll age. Having had some bronze stuff leave green marks on my skin and clothes before, I'm not sure it's a good idea for a watch 🤔
Wait a minute, 100m wr for a diver? But I know most don't dive with their dive watch.
Hey Teddy, i'm a big fan of your content.

Do you know if Oris makes 2000 watches each year or 2000 total. There's one of these for sale here in Kuwait labeled as New 2024.
Hi Teddy, beautiful watch and great review. I am wondering, does the movement has the same issue with calibre 400 when adjusting the time?
Very good review of a very nice watch, but I think the price is too high for what you get compared to previous versions of the watch.
I think it’s great but at 4500 bucks it’s too much. I think the aquis was already priced at the top end of Oris’ range. Now they added an extra grand for a watch that has lesser specs except for the bronze
What a great man. Really inspiring story. Nice watch too. Thanks 👍

And Teddy wears his bad-ass jacket. 😎
No need for the '5 days' on the front, near perfect watch
great review, thanks teddy
Plz help..should I get this or Omega Seamaster 300M? 😅
Fantastic video content! I especially enjoyed learning about Carl Brashear. A true champion at heart and resolve. Is some of the extra revenue of the watch being donated to the Carl Brashear Foundation?
Yeah oris donated on each watch sold
those straps are they made by oris? or do they source them from Erika MN?
ORIS ❤️
Where's this jacket from?
Es un bonito reloj pero Oris ha cometido un error en el dial ya que en la indicación de 100M debe decir 100 m debido a que la unidad de longitud en el sistema internacional de unidades es m y no M, saludos👍
For some reason, those black gloves freak me out a little. But the watch is nice.
YES! I thought I was the only one freaked out by the Boston Strangler gloves.
It is a nice watch I am a oris watch fan
Excellent video
*Master Chief Brashear
BMCM Brashear to include his rate
Absolutely amazing
Nice pice Teddy. Quite pricey though...Keep 'em coming
nice piece
Cookie!
Can anyone tell me what happened to the "5k collection" giveaway? The winner was to be announced on instagram. Did I miss it?
I think every watch maker is trying to move upmarket. I remember Omega in the seventies, cheap as and now they are so expensive. Same as GP
That elephant in the room is huge.
Oris is just a cool brand. Great diversity.
WHO DECIDED TO PUT A 100M WATER RESISTANCE ON THE WATCH INSPIRED BY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DIVERS IN HISTORY?
putting 300$ worth of gold on it will had change everything
A dive-style watch in honor of a diver? Honestly...
I bought the 'Pilot Oris Big Crown' and dislike the astonishingly imprecise movement of the watch (losing about 10 seconds a day! Any Mickey Mouse watch does better!). $4000.00 on an elastic band/french knicker elastic ? Hell No.
