Gonna keep shouting this from the rooftops, Cheng Xiaoshi didn’t lose his parents in the earthquake. His parents *left* and when the earthquake happened he thought they *might* have been there.
As a Percy Jackson fan, I feel the need to provide some clarifying info on the books and what they're about. 1st series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It's 5 books following Percy and his actions in what would be called The Titan War. 2nd series is Heroes of Olympus, a 5 book sequel series to Percy Jackson that's sort of like a Shippuden. New characters, powers, and threats, and it takes place about a year after the first series. Spin off 1 is The Kane Chronicles. It follows two siblings, Sadie and Carter Kane, who are descendants of the Pharaohs of Egypt. This grants them magical powers that allow them to bond with the gods instead of being the children of the gods Spin off 2 is Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard. Magnus is the son of a Norse god who must stop Ragnorok These all take place in the same universe, and there is even some crossover between them. The OG author, Rick RIordan, is currently using his platform and success to help lesser known authors publish similar stories centered on different mythologies.
I’m so glad I saw this comment because they were talking about the Percy Jackson series incorrectly I felt so much rage. I was about to throw my phone across my room. Thank you for this comment.❤
When Danny does Link Click season 2 I think you two should watch it and react to episodes together for the emotional support and maybe Danny should have those emotional support stuffies from his Oshi No Ko reaction just by his side for all of season 2
38:23 Now hold on a damn second there, Nick. Poseidon is not simply Aquaman. Apart from the sea, he's the god of earthquakes, storms, and all things water in general. Basically he's the ruler of more than 80% of the planet, and the responsible for every single cataclism that isn't a volcanic eruption. Also, fun fact, historians theorise that in the Mycenean culture (pre-classical Greece, basically the timeline when the Troy War happens) Poseidon was also ruler of the Underworld and King of the Gods. If anything, it's Zeus the one who's basically a flying powerbank. Put some respect on my guy's name! [sowwy if I came out harsh but being a southern italian this is basicaly my people's history]
Link click is an anime original actually! And 5.5 is only a .5 episode because it doesn’t take place between those 2 episodes chronologically (it takes place after the earthquake thing but before the police thing), but it’s still the best place to put that episode
So glad the boys love Madoka Magica! I NEED to hear them talk about the Rebellion movie. That movie singlehandedly moved the show from my top 20 to my 6th Favorite anime of all time!!!
side note i as someone caught up to the one piece anime and manga i cant wait for the "The One Piece".... that being said there is nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING that WIT can do that will ever surpass One Piece episode 1015. The hard thing about a story like jjk, is that it's hard to tell a story from the perspective of fully developed, fully integrated, and incredibly powerful characters because they have less arc and are less relatable. Yuji is the perfect protagonist because he is relatable to us, but he's not relevant in the power scale often, because the power scale is so insane.
Iirc, in Percy's fight against the sons of Ares, he only wins because at the final point he was standing in water, and therefore, stronger, because of this father's blessing. He seems to be standing in the water in the show too, but it's never explicitly acknowledged, that would explain why Annabeth made him fall in the lake on purpose, because she noticed why he was suddenly "good". Assuming that is correct, I like how he was still obiviously out of his element (inronically), so he didn't just become a War machine while fighting, he was clunky, and did things out of desperation and luck. That made the scene so much better for me.
29:30 annabeth was never said to be a good fighter whereas Luke is said to be the best swordsman in 100 yrs and maybe they didn't show in the series but it is written in the books that Percy trained with Luke a lot
The issue though is that the show is an alternate story and has flaws with the break neck pacing due to the low number of episodes and short actual content time in terms of episode length. This leads to percy in the show having little to no training or fighting experience leading to him doing things he shouldn't be capable of

Real true One Piece fans are stoked for The One Piece. Not only is it a better way to rewatch the series for us longtime fans, its an easy way to get our loved ones into it. My wife said she would watch The One Piece with me because its gonna be better paced and more manageable.
After finishing S2 of JJK, I went back and watched it in chronological order (hidden inventory, jjk 0, season 1, then shibuya) in dub. It made the things I was confused about soo much clearer. Love the show, but it can be a lot to follow on first watch.
I mean it got a lot of issues in its story like how Geto got to the point of "genocide" which makes no sense considering his solution is the star religous group, which would have made his goal as a character more grey than evil, but then he got body swapt offscreen after the movie to do the same stuff he did before in a way. 🙄 Maximum uzimaki which was mentioned in this podcast was originally just a destructive curse attack, but suddenly its a retconned plot convenience tool towards the end of S2. It also makes no sense too because why didn't kenjaku seal Mahito earlier after the targets were marked? It shouldn't have anything with Mahito being stronger as he is already an special grade cursed spirit, etc. This is just some few stuff that was annoying in this jjk season, so its understandable if people missed out on stuff when watching it first time.
@Danny is right at 1:01:00 where he's talking about the bit with hanami, @Nick did talk about in a previous pod, that Hanami vs Gojo had like 1 image, then splat the next page in the manga, but in the anime there was the whole walk down and pressure bit which didn't exist as details in the manga.
Nick misunderstood the sentence to mean the event, of the squishening, didn't happen, but danny meant the details, of the squishening didn't happen, and that attributes to being able to tell how good the anime is going to be because of the manga, when the anime is adding / taking liberties with these details.
@@christiancoates214 I mean there are full of issues with the season 2. Maximum uzimaki was originally just a destructive curse attack, but suddenly its a retconned plot convenience tool in S2 which is not good. It also makes no sense too because that means Kenjaku could have sealed Mahito earlier after the targets were already marked.. Not to mention how badly Geto was handled as a character given there is no reason for him to go evil "genocide" when the "time vessel association" is actually his enemy/obstacle to achieve his goal. It would have made his character morally more grey than pure evil and then get body swapped offscreen with another evil character. 🙄 Unfortunately the anime is not going to get around the manga other than adding some small stuff to it, and right now Mappa is in a dire situation with animators (several people have left the studio) so who knows what is going to happen with the culling game.
49:01 It’s sour grapes-induced gatekeeping, and it’s silly. I’ve not read the manga yet, but I felt like Baratie took WAY too long, even in the One Pace version. I can’t imagine the manga was that slow. There was a lot of standing around and repetition without a lot of progress. I feel like that could have been truncated to maybe 3-4 episodes without losing much or feeling rushed.
I don't care whatsoever about Percy Jackson, but I think its success would help push forward Eragon. I never read that either but my wife asks me like once a month if they're still planning to do it 😂
1:20:39 I wanna hope Danny or Nick brings up the rest of the fight that todo helped with cuase what?!!!! This is why I love Danny cause his takes are outrageously debatable
I was waiting SPECIFICALLY for THIS episode so that Nick can explain this last episode aka the whole season because I didn't get none of that Host information during the season hahaha
Okay, I love JJK, but I do feel like we needed more small moments to build up the cast as characters. JJK has cool desgins but I dont care much for them. It's more battle and less character development. I think we need more scenes with just the characters interacting. A few slice of life in between would help build these characters up.
Hopefully the anime keeps doing what it's doing and adds a few small non-managa scenes showing the cast hanging out/doing shit other than trying not to die.
I absolutely love JJK, but 2023 in my heart belongs to One piece, between the anime and gear 5, the live action, the remake, and especially the manga with egghead and Kumas backstory, it has been the best year of one piece
I really loved todays ep lads. But I hate to say it but man that JJK section has heavy spoilers. Multiple for anime onlys. If you are reading this before getting there. Skip that section. Thankfully I read most of it the other day. And knew the things revealed.
This might start a fight but whatever. The college loan analogy is close. I dropped out because I didn't want to take on the debt for the degree I was going for. If it's forgiven that then feels like I made the wrong choice. But I dropped out so I know the situation is horrible. If they were to fix colleges and I go, "well that's not fair because it wasn't fixed when I was going to school." Is the same as the people against the one piece remake. As the older fan you got to enjoy it as it was coming out and saw the growth of one of the big 3, you had your college and sunk that expense in. Let the next generation not have to pay that same price to enjoy the same product. (We all agree college is too expensive and we also agree that one piece anime is too long, fix both please)
JJK S2 truly was special and had so much great things to it besides all the animator stuff but hopefully that gets fixed. Also 2023 was such a damn dope year for anime it's ridiculous to me Vinland Saga S2 was the best and my favourite for sure
I hate to be that guy but if you want blue just get limitless because blue is just an extension of the basic limitless technique as is infinity (though you probably couldn't use either well without the six eyes even if you just asked for blue)
Ik which poketuber they are talking about and he is doing it as a celebration of 15 years on TH-cam as well as 500k on both of his channels. Its been pretty hype
Spoiler warning: I cannot wait to see Maki's awakening animated. With the level of animation and music we got in this season, that moment is gonna break the internet. And of course Sukuna vs. Gojo is gonna be insane too. It's gonna be like Sukuna vs. Mahoraga on bath salts.
As a Percy fan. I gotta correct Nick. Poseidon isn’t just “The Aquaman” he presides over the sea, storms, earthquakes and horses. He’s the father of all cyclops except the Elder ones and horse creatures is a child of Poseidon centaurs, hippocampus, Pegasus, Charybdis, King Triton; making Percy Ariel’s uncle. Don’t sleep of Poseidon
As a person who read most of the Riordanverse years ago and unironically likes the first movie I'm not yet a fan of the TV show. There are stuff I enjoyed and the show has been getting better, but as of now is kinda ok. It has pacing issues and sometimes the deviation from the source material isn't good imo, maybe if I was younger I would've enjoyed it more. But mostly the pacing is to blame for problems like the ones Danny pointed out which I totally agree. The problem in adaptations is not as much the deviation itself, but changing things that don't need really to be changed and making the overall narrative worse. Small correction to Danny, Percy is still young in the books, he was around 18 in the last series "The Trials of Apollo". To elaborate the Riordanverse has series about different mythologies, some go in chronological order after the other while others sorta happen at the same time. "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is about greek goods and is the most famous one. Than we have the "The Heroes of Olympus" series where we get Roman gods and Percy is one of the main characters. I guess this is what Danny was talking abou when he said that Percy is a mentor, but he is still a teenager there. "The Kane Chronicles" have different protagonists and delves into Egyptian mythology, there are crossover books between them and Percy. "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard", the title is self-explanatory. The protagonist is Annabeth's cousin. And finally "The Trials of Apollo" where we deal with the aftermath of "The Heroes of Olympus" and the god Apollo is the main character. There are obviously more books like the crossovers, diaries, stand-alone, etc., but that's kind the gist of it. Honestly I like the "The Kane Chronicles" more because it's more unique, the characters are not demigods like in the other series, but magicians with a cool world and system. Plus Rick doesn't seem to milk that series like he does with the Percy side of things. They are their own thing in the Riordanverse.
I think the issue with the PJO show is that Disney only gave them 8 episodes to make the show, if it was 12 episodes I feel that the pacing would have been way better.
Love y'all content though I did have issues with the Percy Jackson stuff specifically Nick take on making the characters older was just awful. For one the series was made by the author for younger kids with disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD so that would basically defeat the purpose of the series and also would screw up the entire story as the first 5 books are about how Percy will ether save or Raze Olympus when he turns 16. Another thing is like Danny saying to make Percy bad at fighting while admittedly I do think it could have been done better like how it was done in the books as Percy spends months at camp before going on the quest. There is a lore explanation for why Percy can fight at least decently well and that is his ADHD in the book the author essentially turned it into a superpower so it's like oh you like having problems sitting still your just naturally built to fight he has fighting skill built into his bones literally though I do agree that they should have shown that better. Another thing for Nick for his Outrageously disrespectful take on Poseidon is that how dare you with that Aqua man comment that is God. All the tsunamis and storms and earthquakes of the World half the disasters in the world are caused by Both Zeus and Poseidon. Love y'all's podcast lord knows Danny is one of my favorite reaction channels and I agree on a lot of your takes but as a Percy Jackson fan I couldn't help but feel the need to defend the series
so there's this manga thing going on in jump rn. or hopefully it is, but there is this badass hansel and gretal manga that came out you guys should check it out cuz its like soul eater meets fables and stuff and they fight n shit. its cool
The funny thing about the fighting ability of greek gods is that they are so weak In the trojan war a greek soldier guts ares with the help of athena but he still beat the god of war in combat
Idle transfiguration could get you rich cuz imagine giving cosmetic surgery thats perfectly on point every time and doesnt have negative side effects/health complications
We would love your help in letting us know what moments from today's episode would make a good shorts! Hope you enjoyed the episode!

Unfortunately the anime is not going to get around the manga other than adding some small stuff to it, and right now Mappa is in a dire situation with animators (several people have left the studio) so who knows what is going to happen with the culling game.
I never read that either but my wife asks me like once a month if they're still planning to do it 😂
W wife
DANY SAID TEKKEN FOR JUST ONE SECOND AND I'M JUST FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. WE NEED TEKKEN DANY.
I’m honestly surprised Danny didn’t put bungou stray togs in his top 5. The ones he did say are amazing tbf, but it still shocked me lol
man said apocethary and decided with full confidence it was the correct pronunciation. true fake it til you make it energy
you guys should try to get kaiji yang. the vibes would be immaculate
Jjk's manga/anime reminds me of hajime no ippo manga/anime like it just translates better in anime.
Just noticed daniel cant stop saying "like" after ever 3 words or less
I was so prepared for Danny to call Mushoku Tensei his number one in 2023 just for the look on Nick’s face
I really hope Dannyh eventually realizes how good of an mc Yuji actually is.
The guy in the culling games with the law and order domain is my favorite character I can’t wait to see him in the anime lol
my favorite was Choso versus Yuji
I wish i could live inside of Nick and Danny's skin so i could be with them forever 🥰
Heeyy love the pod and don't want to tell stank how to do his job. Maybe you can put a "skip to this timestamp" to get past spoilers.
The hand dancing style...its tutting . Its connected to popping dance.
@@cooler2727 I hope so.
0:37 it’s called Tutting lol that dance style is called Tutting
I absolutely love JJK, but 2023 in my heart belongs to One piece, between the anime and gear 5, the live action, the remake, and especially the manga with egghead and Kumas backstory, it has been the best year of one piece
Yuki's cursed technique is pretty cool, artificially add or remove mass to an object or person
I really loved todays ep lads. But I hate to say it but man that JJK section has heavy spoilers. Multiple for anime onlys. If you are reading this before getting there. Skip that section. Thankfully I read most of it the other day. And knew the things revealed.
Yep, when he got to the part where he was saying why Tsumuki was in a coma I gasped
You should aswell watch delicious in dungeon it’s a great anime by trigger about cooking in a dungeon with other underlying themes that show up.
JJK S2 truly was special and had so much great things to it besides all the animator stuff but hopefully that gets fixed. Also 2023 was such a damn dope year for anime it's ridiculous to me Vinland Saga S2 was the best and my favourite for sure
Blue eyed samurai is a top three anime 2023 for sure!!
Big question, kenjaku has been plotting for 1000 years to do the culling games, but mahito is only a year old. How did he plan around that???
That hand dance is called tutting
I hate to be that guy but if you want blue just get limitless because blue is just an extension of the basic limitless technique as is infinity (though you probably couldn't use either well without the six eyes even if you just asked for blue)
Ik which poketuber they are talking about and he is doing it as a celebration of 15 years on TH-cam as well as 500k on both of his channels. Its been pretty hype
If you like opening one, just wait till you hear opening two. It's the most genius piece of music I've ever heard
He's from the north of England, and Ireland is Ireland. It is not put of the UK.
The people in the wheelchairs shown to Percy Jackson were like Chiron, I think.
Spoiler warning:
I cannot wait to see Maki's awakening animated. With the level of animation and music we got in this season, that moment is gonna break the internet. And of course Sukuna vs. Gojo is gonna be insane too. It's gonna be like Sukuna vs. Mahoraga on bath salts.
Listening to this while I am at work, and man, Nick saying JJK never gets worse did not age well.
I definitely recommend Ragna Crimson!
Otakus anonymous makes the world go round
29:31 - depends if the original manga author tells the anime to change, so its canon
57:54 😂😂 this is legit how my friends look at me after explaining anything anime
The Percy Jackson series is infinitely better than the movies already but it would have been so much better if it was animated like arcane
1:32:33 Lol not true shoko is still around i guess haha love the podcast guys
Bring stank on and ask him questions about the trials and tribulations of editing for Nick
I can't believe FMAB wasn't on Danny's 2023 list
Love y'all's podcast lord knows Danny is one of my favorite reaction channels and I agree on a lot of your takes but as a Percy Jackson fan I couldn't help but feel the need to defend the series
so there's this manga thing going on in jump rn. or hopefully it is, but there is this badass hansel and gretal manga that came out you guys should check it out cuz its like soul eater meets fables and stuff and they fight n shit. its cool
The funny thing about the fighting ability of greek gods is that they are so weak
In the trojan war a greek soldier guts ares with the help of athena but he still beat the god of war in combat
Idle transfiguration could get you rich cuz imagine giving cosmetic surgery thats perfectly on point every time and doesnt have negative side effects/health complications
