Thank you for this informative video. You gave us a glimpse of what a typical day for a postpartum nurse looks like and I like knowing what I can expect.💕🍼
As a RN (registered nurse) I'm not afraid of loosing my job or quitting my job because I learnt how to save to invest putting my money back to work to make more money. I'm not just after the money but the freedom to live on my terms
There's a lot of investing options real estate, stocks, ETFs, crypto but my best advice get a professional lead you into profitable one and make good financial decisions
YAY I’m so happy for you! You’re going to love it so much 🫶🏽🥹 If you need anything, feel free to reach out 💓 I’m glad you enjoyed this video and found it helpful 🤗
Couple questions: 1) do you administer meds during the initial assessment? 2) have you had any students shadow you? 3) were there any extra tasks or duties that surprised you when first started, like stuff specific to postpartum?
I will administer meds during my initial assessment for example, some common meds are: Tylenol, ibuprofen, ketorlac, colace, prenatal, lanolin, benzocaine, labetalol/ nifedipine if they are blood pressure mom, insulin, & much others :) I do have students shadow me some days 🫶🏽 & What surprised me the most right after nursing school was how much modules and education that still has to be completed when going into the workforce🥴🫠
Awww I'm bummed because I'm just seeing this comment right now, and I do feel like this video topic would be helpful, so I took note of it now. Thanks so much for the feedback, but I'm sorry I'm seeing it so late : (
I loved my postpartum clinical and that’s what made me decide that I want to be a postpartum nurse. My labor and delivery clinical was intense lol! I was on my feet on the move the entire time and all I was able to eat was two pieces of candy at the nurses station and barely any water 😖 so yeah postpartum is my first choice, l&d is third (OR is second)
6 months later and it’s still the same lol! Did an internship in the OR and loved it BUT… I went back to postpartum and fell in love with it all over again! So I will be definitely looking to specialize in postpartum nursing and eventually becoming a midwife 🤗
Hey girly! I thought about being a L& D nurse in the future bht i like the idea of being a postpartum nurse a lot more. 😅 Are u able to make videos on how to chart as a new nurse and how to chart during nursing clinicals. I want to be able to chart accurately and not have to get sued thats my biggedt fear.😅
AHHHH THATS SOOOO EXCITING 🫶🏽💓💓💓 GOOD LUCK 🤞🏽 word of advice is that it’s going to get really challenging along the way and you’re going to often catch yourself comparing yourself to others, but it is so important that you remember that this is your journey and that you made it in nursing school for a reason. YOU GOT IT GIRL👏🏽

Very good video!!!
Yes I will be a Postpartum Nurse !
Does your hospital hire LPN’s in the post-partum unit? I know they usually do not in L&D, but I read somewhere that they might in post-partum.
I actually haven’t met anyone who has their LPN at my facility, but I’ll definitely ask and get back to you because I’m not too sure on that one 🤔😊
I want to see it an updated report sheet
What meds are most used in this department and what should we know about them
Updated report sheet!❤
You can definitely Email me if I haven't already sent you a copy off my updated PP report sheet : ) - dha35@nau.edu
