I am a 63 year old American from Peoria Illinois, and I do not like brisket. My favorite BBQ is baby back ribs, pulled pork, breaded chicken wings, fries with the skin on, cornbread, and salad or coleslaw. For desert it's lemon meringe pie or chocolate cake.

What I find interesting is that they lived in Houston for years and never had Texas BBQ while living there. It seems kind of odd. I've lived and worked in Texas off and on for years and the first thing a Texan friend will do is ask you if you've ever had Texas BBQ, and if not, you will be going to the best local BBQ place without a doubt. And even if you've had Texas BBQ, they will either invite you over to their house for their version or take you the best local BBQ joint as well.
With that said, this is not authentic American BBQ (I know there a different types of US BBQ, I get it) but is an English interpretation which is fine but it's not typical American BBQ. Much of it was kind of alien to me but looked delicious. A hot dog? Really?
Anyway, I would call it an English version of American style BBQ with the pulled pork, pork ribs and the brisket. For the rest, it obviously caters to English tastes which is smart on the part of the owners.

A few tricks we use in America on the hot wings. Ranch or Blue cheese dressing. Hot wings came out of Buffalo New York and that's where the name Buffalo wings came from. Traditionally they were dipped in Bluecheese dressing. Now days they have added Ranch dressing. Dressing meaning salad dressings. The other for sure thing to break the hot if you are absolutely in need to break the hot is drink milk. Alcohol only intensifies the hot and water is basically useless.

Usually when I eat something super spicy, I also eat something sweet with it. It cuts down the spiciness. Another trick is to sip whiskey.

If I travel there, I would like to visit that restaurant. The food is familiar and similar to food here, yet there were some things I saw that I would like to try. It all looked very appetizing. YUM!

The secret of the really hot wings is that only the first one burns, after that, you become more immune to the heat. The added bonus is that, if the wings were really hot, you can enjoy the burn in another part of your anatomy the next morning!

I’m a Missourian by birth, so I know good BBQ. Texas has us beat on brisket. I have a lot of family in Texas, so when I can visit from Florida I gotta have some BBQ.

The best food that I've ever had was brisket in Texas that was smoked using Mesquite wood. In fact, I've had this same meal at least a dozen times -- brisket smoked using Mesquite wood -- and it was ALWAYS amazing. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and I look forward to trips to Texas just for the food (e.g., smoked brisket, smoked ribs, smoked turkey/chicken, Tex-Mex food, etc.).

keep milk and bread on hand for spicy food. They're the only things that will help.

Very good video. Not the same cornbread made in America because it if so I would have fallen apart easily haha. I would also say try everything by itself to experience each flavor of food itself before mixing. Then afterwards you will really know what sides and such to combine with and ones you probably should not. But again great video and a respectable take on American bbq in the UK!

As someone who smokes Brisket almost on a Bi-weekly basis, that "Brisket" looks like Carne Asada(Skirt steak). Food looks nice, but I about cried when I saw those sausages, n the "Brisket"
