❤ 65yr old from USA again...Had to LOL when Daz said about BBQing hard to do in the snow. We live in Maryland, got 7 inches of snow yesterday, Hubby BBQed last night...was funny seeing our Corgi follow him out, all you could see was her head & top of back poking out of the snow 😂...Greetings to you and Gaynor from snow covered Maryland 😊❤
❤65yr old from USA again, you know you have a real grill master when they use hardwood charcoal and Not briquettes 😊 I'm lucky my Hubby Rocks the BBQ. He makes his own BBQ and Hot sauces & we have a big grill and a smoker Hubby made himself 😊 As always Love the reactions ❤ 19:01
Best dip ever. "Angel of Death". 8 ounces Philly cream cheese, 2 ounces blue cheese, til garlic, walnuts on top, crackers. Then you do "Russian Cream". sour cream (creme fraiche) and sugar and vanilla extract. Berries. sliced chocolate and a whiskey. done. you win.
The hash dish in this video may only be found in South Carolina, but you can find bbq's like this throughout the south on any given weekend. We love it !!! 😁👍✌️
Get with Mr. and Mrs. H here on TH-cam about setting up some barbecue stuff there in the UK. They got a smoker shipped to them and Mr. H has been putting in the work figuring out how to properly smoke a bunch of meats.
Great video, it would be fun if u react to more of his videos, like outside the us ones. He's got a really awesome Iran playlist, trying all the good foods over here, im sure u will enjoy it!
I think setting a tv in the middle of all that wouldn't work. We have a lot of big family and friends outdoor get-togethers here in the States. You won't see a tv unless it's designated as a Super Bowl party. Theres a time and a place for everything.
Notice, if you will he is using natural charcoal. NOT briquets. Listen to the tinkling sound like clinking of crystal glasses as he pours the charcoal in. It heats better and also has a cleaner burn so the wood you are using to smoke is the only flavoring. That also means DO NOT use lighter fluid or you have wasted your time preparing to smoke as it will keep a petroleum taste. He lives about an hour and 15 minutes from me. I am not his level but I learned what masters like him do and it only makes sense to keep it natural.
I live about 100 miles north and here where I live we use a lot of mustard based barbecue and rubs. That originally came from the German settler influence in this area. Growing up my family always barbecued a kid (goat) on the 4th of July and had a pig pickin' on New Years. Half the fun was us men and boys sitting up all night talking and taking turns rotating the pig on the spit.
British people really don’t understand food. That mustard is the perfect amount because it’s rendered down for hours. You’re not going to be able to taste it. It’s just like cooking with alcohol or something. It gives a different texture. it’s used as an emulsifier. not a flavor.
I'm from North Carolina and we are certainly familiar with good barbecue. But I must say, this seems to be at whole new level. As I was watching my mouth was watering. In fact, I'm hungry!
"Hey" from Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA where tonight I'm freezing my butt off. Currently 32F degrees and the next four or five nights gonna be much of the same with daily high temperatures in the 50Fs. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . . . Can't wait for spring time to return so I can reclaim my Floridian flip flops and shorts attire. LOL Enjoy the heck outta ya videos. Both the reaction and content creation versions. Please keep making them. I was lucky enough to try South Carolina BBQ twice and it is certainly different that other forms of BBQ. There are unique flavors that include the beef traditionally acknowledged as Texas BBQ and the pork from Southern BBQ. Down south we love our pigs ! As a collard greens lover I fell in love with the SC style of collard greens cause of the abundant types of meat simmered to add unbelievable flavor. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . . ;) Best of luck when ya get your personal BBQ. I suggest ya do a bit of research cause a few of my British friends that have invested in a BBQ have discovered that complying with certain types of food has a "twist" cause of the different UK weather. Supposedly it takes longer than it does in the USA's southern regions. Dunno this for fact, but have heard it several times from new British BBQ owners. Either way I'd suggest you'll discover all kinds of great tasting BBQ to customize to ya likens. Have fun, be safe and enjoy the heck outta ya 2025. :)
This is almost how my family does it. We have a little less than this though. This food puts you to sleep too. Lol also we don't call this a bbq. We call it a cookout. Just cookout. They missing the music but probably can't play it make because of they are recording? The mrs. Is correct.. we don't usually do tv outside its music instead but the inside event like Thanksgiving and Christmas The ganes are on and it does divide the men and women. Most of the women are trying to watch movies in one room and most of the men watch the games on another. It's hard to really watch either unless something big happens because the talking is so loud.😂
Black Smoke Barbecue channel, Episode 55 w/ John Haney. A bit long for a reaction vid but you'll get to know him better and he shares a few BBQ secrets✌
❤ this is a Sunday bbq I ve seen and been to several times in Florida n Georgia not as big but same food offered but not smoked Mac n cheese or the hash but true to the southern states pork is king at bbq
yea, lot easier to raise pigs than cattle out east I'm guessing. here in OK beef is king for sure, but I love carolina style bbq, love mustard and vinegar-based sauces.
I normally like Mark's videos, but this one drives me nuts. I cannot stand his chewing, lip smacking, and most of all, talking with his mouth full while chewing at the same time. It's repulsive! Enjoy, but a little etiquette/manners goes a long way.
My last bar-b-que was a 4 day pig roast. 3 bands, camping, enough food to feed Ethiopa for a week. Had about 350 people, all in my back yard.

I'm 69 and will be having a BBQ as well as a birthday/ anniversary party this summer in my backyard here in South Carolina

Loved this video! The food looks so good. 😋
mark wiens got some great videos keep 'em coming y'all
In my family, we do something like this at least 2x a month. We rotate the host's houses.

The barbeque place in Decatur is Bob Gibsons. The Gibsons invented white barbecue sauce. Most excellent!
I'm from North Carolina and we are certainly familiar with good barbecue. But I must say, this seems to be at whole new level. As I was watching my mouth was watering. In fact, I'm hungry!
Tip to a Good BBQ is slow and easy. we let the food cook itself and have some beers and relax while its cooking.

That is about two hour drive from my house .. dang .. would love an invitation.
I think it would be cool if you guys did some barbequing on your channel.

I live in SC, too. And I wholeheartedly agree! We call'em cookouts!
I can actually SMELL this video. There isn't a scent in the world that can compare to an outdoor smoker doing proper southern bbq.
I live up in the northern part of North Carolina and I'm a sucker for mustard sauces.
Love Mark Wiens videos. He travels the world showcasing amazing food.
Have you ever seen him blink though? I haven't... lol I love his videos too but his stare is INTENSE
You're thinking of "Alabama White Sauce " (mayonnaise-based barbecue sauce for chicken)

Yup, I sure wish I'd been there, just looks delicious.
South carolina here SC BBQ is the best

Big Bob Gibson .
Probably the most famous American desert ever banana pudding. It's not a barque without banana pudding.
You'll get it anywhere in the deep south 😍🤩😍
I can never tell if this Mark guy is on too much medication or not enough
I'm so hungry watching this BBQ. But I'm never touching the hash. 🤢
10:05 Mark Wiens is famous for his big bites 😮
I normally like Mark's videos, but this one drives me nuts. I cannot stand his chewing, lip smacking, and most of all, talking with his mouth full while chewing at the same time. It's repulsive! Enjoy, but a little etiquette/manners goes a long way.
I agree, so awkward 😅
@@bcbritt777I would have been back handed by my parents, grandparents, and elders in general if we kids did that.😂
Yes we're I'm from that is bad manners.
That is how you eat barbecue
You haven’t had good BBQ if you don’t snack your lips. Makes the flavors pop more😂😂😂
So you are going to copy what MR H and family do with the BBQ and food videos? Sounds original.
Big Bob Gibson's is the Alabama white BBQ sauce.
I made this sauce at home last week and it’s the best sauce I’ve ever had and it works with everything! The sweet bite to it 😋 brown sugar baby!
More Mark Wiens!!! Insane foods Romania. Giant medieval barbecue. th-cam.com/video/kd0FRDkHqPc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aKayAKwHH6OSa4SE
