I tried this but on a smaller scale with 400g mince, 1 large onion, 1 can of chickpeas, a can of chopped tomatoes instead of passata, fresh garlic and ginger finely chopped, didn't have coriander powder so added smoked paprika, and used cinnamon powder as I didn't have a stick - I was starving so didn't cook it for as long in total.. my onions were soft and browned but not broken down like in the video . But it still tasted amazinggg so much flavour... yummm! thanks for sharing the recipe, so excited at having tried something new! I had lost my mojo for cooking and was feeling uninspired... you have ignited my zest for cooking again! Thank you! :)
Hi turmeric and chilli powder aren’t on description list. Also, coriander is on list but you don’t mention on video ? Should I include? How much? Thought you might want to update? Delicious dish btw 1:42
An excellent video. I found this extremely helpful. I have been doing the keema incorrectly as I was putting all the herbs and spices in together. Anyway I'm going to make it right now. Thank you. You also have a good voice and dictation.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Just making it again. So tasty. Can't wait for my meal tonight. I have looked at other recipes of yours and will be trying them in the coming weeks. Regards.
Well I am hooked on this recipe. I have just finished eating. I had a shop bought garlic and coriander naan with it. It was so good I couldn't believe I had made it. The flavour was so good. Also I think the coconut oil gave it a richness. I used gheer in the past and as I remarked in my previous comment I used to put all the herbs and spices in at the same time and I didn't brown the onions. I found my plastic potato masher was good for breaking the clumps of mince meat. Thank you once again.
I will be trying a lot of your recipes. I have a few books with recipes in but you do your cooking in a methodical way and it is clear how much of each spice/ herb you add and when. I find your videos very helpful.
Omg just found you the lamb and chickpea curry looks amazing definitely going to try this thank you for sharing...you are very attractive by the way sorry had to say it.
Thank for this recipe l was looking to make something different. First time. I have even made Lamb keema with chickpea curry. It came out perfect and amazing. 🙏👍😋
Asim, thanks for your comment. You most certainly can use beef as a replacement to lamb and it will work just as well. Look forward to hearing how you find the recipe. 😊
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Shamza, where I live in Canada is a very small town. Lambs (so called) here are not edible by some of us who moved from sub-continent. I always prefer to use beef if available. I have to drive a few hours to get a good quality meat. Mainly, the wildest I have gone so far with chick peas is Lahori Channa Massala or Murgh Chola 🤫. IA with qeema recipe I can imagine how tasty it can be. So far being quarantined, we tried to master some of traditional dishes but I know within next two weeks, I will certainly try this recipe and shall let you know. Thank you so much for this recipe! I usually stuck to videos that are under 10 min, so I’m really glad I still clicked on yours. Excellent meal idea. 🥰
For your ginger and garlic do you buy the blocks frozen or make them at home? Trying to judge how much fresh ingredients these blocks are equivalent to. :) Thanks!
Sorry Millennial Bug for the late reply, I've had a back log of comments that I was working through! So glad you managed to find the equivalent to the frozen peices of ginger & garlic cubes. Yes it is 1 tablespoon for each block 😊👍
Hi, I subscribed after watching your keema matar dish a few weeks ago! I have made it loads of times it’s fantastic! I think this one is going to be my new thing tho ! Love your channel and happy ways 😀 Ziggy 😊
I'll actually cook the mince my way by adding water first place and checking in half an hour when it's ready haha. only wanted to know how to add chickpeas. Very useful video. Thanks. And yeah, I won't forget to break the clumps :)
Vaah ji Vaah! Its a sunny Sunday. Cleaning the flat. Going for a long walk later. I want to cook something really cool and different. I was thinkg of channa daal. But I do enoy Keema every few weeks so why not combine them both eh? Cheers for this sis!
I made this the other day using turkey mince. Had to add loads more fat to get it bhunning. Turned out mega. Lesson learned on the importance of Bhunning! Thank you 😉
I would not advise you to use coconut oil as it's quite heavy and makes meat dishes a bit too much a more lighter type off oil sunflower is better as Coco nut pile when it is not heated it becomes solid and does not stay in a liquid form as you see.

Sounds great!
Recipe looks amazing, just heads up you forgot to mention ginger and garlic in your ingredient list under the video.
Aww thank you so much for letting me know! I'll add that right now! I blame my toddler 😂👍
How much ginger and garlic did you use? I know you mentioned 1 piece but it didn't look like a piece of garlic...just wanted to clarify
When do I use the frozen piece of ginger and garlic ?
How comes you used coconut oil for this one ?
The hubby was on a health kick and was using coconut based products. I actually prefer coconut oil. Try it some time 😊👍
Hi, novice cook here. I plan to make this with 1 Kg Lamb mince. Do the quantity of ingredients change proportionally? I.e. approx 1.6 times
Hi there, just double the quantity of all ingredients and you should be good to go. 👍😊
Wowee so going to try this xxx
Pakistani Lady, it's one of those beautiful combinations that work great together. Let me know what you think! 😊👍
Hi, do you not add any ginger/ garlic ?
Yes I did. Once peice each of frozen ginger and garlic cubes that I buy from the local supermarket.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes thankyou x

Ahhh, bhunin as is Bhuna. Fry meat...?
hi yes that is correct it is 'bhuna' or 'bhunning'.
