I want to thank Neil Young and Joni Mitchell for bringing Spotify to my attention. I signed up today in solidarity of free speech in media, and hope that other lovers of liberty will too. It's tragic that once champions of free speech are now demanding censorship. I know little to nothing of Rogan, but he is just as entitled to his opinion as any.
I prefer that alternate voices speak freely so that their error or truthfulness as the case may be exposed. They did too at one time.

The problem, Scott Jennings, is that people abuse their freedom of speech. You can say what you want and believe what you want, but there are boundaries to things you say in public, though. For example, even if you're an adult, you can't use profanities too much in the workplace. Also, American history, things like World War II and slavery, they're taught in schools not to embarrass and shame a particular race of people, but to teach what life was like during those times and to not mimic it. There is a saying of: "If you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it."

Has anyone bothered to ask older kids what literature they believe is important. It’s not a secret that for many years educational books for class are written in a way that conveniently leaves things out of our history. They either left it out or they sugarcoat it. Kids want the truth. Because I’m gonna tell you when kids get older and they learn the truth they feel deceived by the educators.
This is absolutely true. My daughter is 11 and I make sure that whatever she is being taught in social studies at school, is supplemented with factual information no matter how uncomfortable it can be to hear. The truth matters.
I like books that concentrate on the horrors of war so that Democrats will never be able to start another one.
School districts setting and enforcing tight boundaries around the "accepted and acceptable" curriculum, topics, and information to be taught is nothing new. One thing all my best teachers had in common, as I look back on it, is the willingness and skill to 'tell their students without literally telling them' there is more information and other perspectives out there and encouraging us to seek it out, gain a full picture, and judge for ourselves (the highest purpose of a wholistic education).

In case you didn’t know, Spotify is a Swedish company that pays less than one cent for each song streamed on their platform. So if you want to make a foreign company that is cheap with musicians more money, than you’ll choose them. Not me. I try to keep my money local as much as I can. Also, they have a contract with Rogan so it’s a legal issue not a free speech issue.

Neil Young stood up for his beliefs and whether I agree with him or not, I respect him for doing it. I like his music. Second, I’m not a Rogan fan. Tried it and it’s not for me. But third, and most important, is that I try really hard to buy and support local businesses. Spotify is neither in my state nor in my country. And fourth, Spotify is the cheapest platform as far as paying musicians. I love music more than commentary, so I personally will not use their services again. And that’s it. And I said all that without resorting to name calling.
