I think the total flat chassis setup that they've got isn't allowing the chassis to bend like the X-Max did having that high center and lower dropped front and rear

Really do want get the xrt but I can be happy spending 399 on the ft plus I need alot parts ,
I love my XRT. I did blow the stock motor with the speed gearing because I have bigger tires on it. So I went with the XLX2 and 1100kv 5687 motor 30/47 gearing. Beast mode!. And I do like it better than my X-Maxx. Less problems out of the box.
When I first got my XRT It took me a bit to figure out how I wanted to run the battery wires. The way you run yours is how I figured I would do it. The other side, like you said would definitely cut the wire. I am glad. I figured that out before I had a fire.
You are spot on with the battery placement, the battery hold downs are different then the Xmaxx, I’ve always ran mine with the connectors hanging out of the truck and then connect them over the plastic hold downs, also Traxxas recommends putting them in with connectors facing the rear of the truck, I found that doing it that way, the connectors barely reach, so I put them in connectors toward the front hanging out of the truck, good review brother, glad your liking it🤙
I couldn’t disagree with you more. The XRT is a poorly designed truck. It hasn’t lasted like my Kraton 8s. I have had mine 3 months.. it’s broken 2 complete rear diffs (pinion, ring And spider gears), 1 front pinion and ring gear, rear upper bulk head, front lca’s, 2 sets of stock gears, 1 Servo, bell crank, all the cvd’s were bent, 2 rear diff cups, 1 stock receiver etc. The power plant is underpowered and heats up too fast on stock gearing, lasts about 10 minutes before it’s over 200*. I have all the M2C upgrades to it And more coming up to $3000+ including the price of the truck. On the other hand, my Kraton 8s exb I’ve had for 3 months longer has only broken 1 Lca And a lower shock mount. I have just under $2k in my K8. I have the same exact systems (Max 5 / 800kv) tuned exactly the same in both rigs, the same tires and The K8 annihilates the XRT in handling, speed, power, air control And durability. I also bash my K8 harder than the XRT as I can’t get through a full set of packs without the XRT breaking. The XRT is THE worst vehicle I’ve purchased in terms of RTR. I’m not an Arrma fanboy but the XRT made me not want a Traxxas ever again. I also had the Sledge and That was a pile as well. You have great content otherwise. Lmk what you think about my experience. Everyone has different experiences. I can only speak on what happens to me perfect example is when I had a xmaxx and had nothing but issues and breaks sucks you had so many issues but that's why I like this hobby so many options and different experiences
Good honest review, I think the terrain has a lot to do with the issues Earl is having with the bulk heads and skid plate lots of rocks and stones where he runs and harder surface 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve had my XMaxx for the last 4 years and other than 1 pinion and probably a dozen spur gears I’ve had very few problems. How similar are they two trucks
@chefbeardsly siickkk I just have my garage set up nothing huge but I got all the big boys xrt8s, xmaxx ultimate8s, arrma kraton 8s not all but some of the best lol along with rustler 4x4, rustler vxl, HOSS, E-revo and few smaller ones
Awesome , . I almost feel guilty getting one like I'm cheating on arrma and losi and they both have dam good sales , I can buy drag car fireteam hobbywing max5 combo and still cheaper 😅 🙃.
Great and informative video, A friend of mine bought a new XRT with new Traxxas 4s lipos and it burned to the ground he swears to never buy a new Traxxas product. I recently got a red X-Maxx in a trade from him and so far it's been a little pricy with repairs but i still want to keep it and build it up.

Nice review! glad I picked the XRT to be my first Traxxas rig. Btw, the backflips feel a helluva lot better than stock tires.
The snapped chassis was justified in my eyes lol coming down that high onto a concrete curb it made sense why it snapped lol

30 35 minutes depending on trigger usage

Yes silicone ear plugs taking out the center diff fluid and replacing it with silicone ear plugs

I had nothing but issues with my xmaxx so for me to answer that it wouldn't be fair bc I had to get a defective xmaxx or something
