      It's definitely fun to watch this stuff evolve. This was a really big leap, and cool to see and get to experience. I went back to cables after running the last AXS system, but I see myself leaving this set-up on this particular bike for the foreseeable future, which is encouraging. It'll be cool to see how all of this trickles down in the coming years.

I'm hoping when Specialized refreshes my bike model (stumpy) that the Transmission and Flight Attendant will be offered. I will continue to use shimano brakes, so look for my takeoffs on Pinkbike.

    My bike isnt UDH compatible, so I havent been able to check out the interface. If you were to put your bike in a stand and drop the rear wheel, how does the derailleur stay connected to the frame without an axle in?

    • @SemiSendy
      @SemiSendy  ปีที่แล้ว

      The derailleur is mounted to the frame and not dependent on the axle to stay in place. The axel just bolts into it. You remove the axel and wheel just as normal, and the derailleur stays in the exact same tension setting.

    Usual rush to market from Sram. It will require perfect dropout production from the factory which is not a given plus releasing and clamping the wheel will affect this too. It has a serrated contact with the frame which will more than likely be carbon, this will degrade over time. Tough it might be but where is the shock going, yep through the carbon triangle, pivot bearings, freehub bearings etc. Maybe Sram should concentrate on getting the basics right like making a decent affordable groupset that is not shit, i.e NX SX. Not convinced it is necessary or wise in the long-term plus the prices are ridiculous.

    • @SemiSendy
      @SemiSendy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely get what you're speculating here in regards to the dropout production, but the way the cassette and axel are interfacing with the derailleur and not with the frame itself, means that there's reasonable wiggle room on the frame manufacturing end of things. The axel is always going to thread into the derailleur the same way, and line up the cassette the same.
