I have recently upgraded from Forte IVs to the Cornwall IVs with just 20hrs on the Cornwalls. Please forgive me for being blunt but the Cornwalls are way better than the Fortes. Not because of louder output or different kind of bass. The beauty of the Cornwalls is the magic mids and smoother highs. The accuracy of the tone and increased detail is amazing. The elusive quality of real musicality is only hinted at from the Fortes. Cornwalls are a true reference loudspeaker that can compete with $100k speakers. No joke I would put this up against the big TADs or JBL Everest. I am baffled on how they did it. Almost same drivers as Fortes just wider baffle and slightly different crossover. To say I am impressed is an understatement! So if you have the room don't hesitate to get Cornwalls. Bravo Klipsch!👏😊
Someone who loves to crack concrete and shatter glass I agree completely the Cornwell's are on the top of the list to bounce the money's out of their wallets for the corner Hortons which are truly a spacious concert experimental experience for one who loves the sound of my recordings vs. Studio
Thanks for doing this . In a way its like comparing a 6' Steinway to a 9' Steinway. Each with similar tonal qualities but the large having that reach on the bottom and a larger lower mid to bass extension. Good to see these models continuing in the Klipsch lineup.
Fantastic selection of music genres! Finally, someone who does not test audiophile muttering, but a strong, dense and heavy guitar wall of sound! I love you guys! :)
Thanks for watching! This seems to be a popular request. We hope to be able to do this comparison in the near future. Subscribe if not already, and stay tuned!
Purchased a brand new set of Forte Fours site unseen from my local dealer. In my 18x24x8' acoustically treated dedicated space, driven by the WIllsenton R8 integrated amp in TRIODE MODE, the low end is really incredible. In my space, pulling them AWAY from the front wall 32", the 2 DB-A increase at 24Hz !!!, was very surprisning, and was beyond the Klipsch low frequency SPEC of 38Hz. ! (tested with a genuine sine wave tone generator). Please understand, that the Forte 4, is the ONLY heritage speaker sharing the same 12" driver as the new JUBILEE !!
Through my in ear monitors the cornwalls sounds more forward. The forte sounds more recessed. Basically the Cornwallis gives more midrange and the forte is laid back in the midrange allowing you to hear more bottom end. But hey that’s just my 2 pennies. Wish I was there to hear in person.
They are for sure different beasts. definitely take a listen in person if you ever get the chance. Can listen side by side at the PHT showroom if your every nearby. -Jason
I recommend equalizing the volume for both speakers, so the only difference is the sonic quality of the speaker and not differences introduced by increased volume. However, it was clear to me that the Cornwalls had a fuller sound signature overall, despite the differences caused by higher volume. Great video comparison!
I agree...but we only had 1 amp...well nice amp...so it was what it was...However, the volume difference is also part of the tone difference...due to balance. So in your room, you would hear the volume difference...so fair...
That's true, but when the sonic chacteristics are very similar, after all they share identical midranges, human ear will generally lean towards the louder speaker!! The only True comparison is with efficiency equalization of the db level...
Agreed, if the idea of the comparison were to tell the difference in the sonic signature/quality. That said though, these tests are speaker vs speaker as is toe to toe. A real world compare with identical components throughout. If there are any variables altered outside of the speaker itself, it leads to an unfair real world comparison. All of that said, we aim to please and provide the most desired info. If there is a request for a video where we EQ first to specifically call out the character differences, we will add it to the to-do list. :)
Thank you for doing this. Whatever you do you will satisfy some viewers and disappoint others. And the better you do the higher expectations people will have ... I bought my Forte 3 on the basis of what I read, to replace an Onkyo "hifi in a box" system. At first I used the Onkyo receiver and well - the system sounded good but was very fatiguing. I would listen for 45 mins and then watch tv. Then I saw a review of a cheap Chinese tube amp, the Reisong Boyuu A10. I bought it for $390 and suddenly my Forte's sounded sweet. The first night I listened for seven hours, the next hour nine hours, the third night I thought I was gonna lose my job ... Now I'm wondering about the Cornwalls ..
Thank you for watching! The amp choice certainly makes a big difference. We plan to do some amp comparisons in the future as well so, be sure to hit that subscribe button if you haven't yet. I anticipate those will be interesting and revealing. It's amazing how listening becomes something of an addiction. Once you find the right music on the right set of speakers in the right room, everything just falls into place and you can sink into your chair for hours at a time. I can't tell you what the best speaker is for you, but I am for sure blown away every time I hear the Cornwall. Head out to a showroom and hear them for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Or better yet, I believe the Cornwalls qualify for the in home trial that Paducah Home Theater is offering. Shoot Cory a message or give PHT a call and you can hear them at home in your own living room next to the Fortes :)
👍🏻Great review! Nice to see the speaker cut ins(the back of your heads were fine!). Glad you let us know when the switch was made. Not surprisingly, the Cornwall came through louder and fuller.
Thanks for watching! As we said in the intro, we aim to customize this channel based on your feedback so, keep the comments/requests coming. Happy to adjust to help the cause :)
i can't tell which is which, i just heard differences. one sounds scooped in the midrange and almost 'centered' where as the other is very full and dynamic
3/2024: Good Day From The Future I am considering buying the Forte IV, due to price only. The 15" speaker does make a difference with the Cornwall. I always believe that Bigger Is Better. I'm old school also. In 1974 a friend of mine had Altec VOT speakers in his basement and that got me hooked on Big & Horn Speakers. I do agree on the Tube issue: My Fender Super Reverb Amp with Tubes & 4x10" speakers kicks ass! Well done Guys. Thank You & Best Regards.
biggest difference is actually with the squawker horn on the cornwall. it's much more transparent and realistic in the upper midrange and treble. Forte are still cool but yeah Cornwalls are going to win. Either way please give me a call before you purchase elsewhere. 270-556-8427
Yes. Do a video on the Forte vs Heresy with sound. Thanks. Glad to hear the CW4 and F4 are neck and neck. I have a F3 and figured the CW4 would be the upgrade path if I made that move. I am very happy with the F3 sound and the size is very easy to manage and live with (very important factor to me). Good review....look forward to many more.
Hey James, a redo of the FIV VS HIV sounds like it would be a popular option. We may just have to go back and do this one in the future. I would enjoy it myself. As for telling which is which, we did not add this initially in the FIV VS FIII video, as it creates a bias. When listening, the mind will tell you on a subconscious level that the unit you hear as "better," is the newer or higher priced unit...while this is not always the case. That said, there was a lot of demand for this so we took a pole. The most popular option was to include it in the second half and not in the first so you get some listening with and some without. Click through to about the halfway point and we put an indicator on screen for the rest of the video. :)
Heresy IV vs Forte IV would be cool! when you guys We’re playing the song The Value of all you could definitely hear the difference between the two. Cornwalls had a much fuller sound but the Fortes aren’t that far behind.
Thanks for watching! There is for sure a difference. but man, with this new update, the Forte is certainly holding it's own very well comparatively. We look forward to comparing the Heresys and Fortes in the near future. Subscribe if not already, and stay tuned!
I'm always surprised when people want Heresy vs Forte - imo its not even close if you're looking for a full range 2 channel situation. Its fun to compare, but...Heresy is a solution for a 3 way speaker in a small cabinet, I get people like the maybe somewhat smoother output over the frequency range (at least Heresy II vs Forte II, which is what I'm super familiar with), but cabinet volume and cabinet resonance and the fact that the forte can move so much more air and has a 15 inch radiator, I don't think its even really a fair a comparison. I should qualify these comments by disclosing I've owed Forte II for 30 years, in college days, my roommates and I would loan equipment and spend the entire weekend doing A - B comparisons, one of my roommates loved the Heresy, I bought Forte II, and they smoked them every single time, and his Heresy made awesome surround speakers.
Thanks for watching and for your input! While I agree to an extent, and while there are tiers in the line for a reason and the Forte is above the Heresy, the Heresy has come a long way in it's design over the years. I think the idea is that; they were originally designed to play a supporting role whereas, when Klipsch realized people were buying as mains, they altered the design to fit the bill. This rings true especially in the latest gen. If you haven't heard the IVs, I very much recommend checking them out. I was very impressed with the new line. -Jason
@@TopShelfAudio Thanks or your reply! Only recently found your channel, I like it a lot! I see how the Heresy is now ported (Heresy!), that will help the low end extension, as is indicated in their current spec, I do agree with you, I'm sure it comes down to application, price point, space, etc., and I appreciate your love for the model. Being a 30 year Forte II owner what I'd like is Forte IV mains, Heresy IV surrounds in a modern home theater set-up...oh...the $$ and the space! Enjoy all of your reviews, refreshing to hear about affordable, good audio gear.
Thanks for watching. First half we leave this off to avoid bias and to focus on commentary. Second half we start revealing which is which so you can see if your original thoughts/opinions match once you hear which is which. -Jason
No problem at all! Thanks for watching! We just started diving into subs. Just unboxed my two favorite units/ones I recommend daily these last two weeks (SPL150 and PB2000Pro). We are going to dive into a few other things and then hope to swing back around to sub compares at a later date. Subscribe and stay tuned! -Jason
@@TopShelfAudio would love to hear a sub used in conjunction with La Scala! I’m thinking of going that route but not sure yet, I’m liking legacy speakers as well
No replacement for displacement. Cornwalls all the way!!! especially at lower volumes. The wife loves our cornwall IV's because of the ability for her to watch shows at lower volumes and have extraordinarily clear dialog
The Forte certainly brought its A game. While there were some differences in the bottom end, and the Cornwall can dig a bit deeper, the Forte for sure held its own in these tests.
Good review. Listen to both in a showroom and liked the Cornwall much better for it's clarity, output, dynamic range and larger sound stage presentations. However, the Forte could be easier to live with daily, for it's neutral and more laid back sound.
Thanks for watching! They are both great. I tend to lean a bit more toward the CW as well but the Forte is a great option for saving space, as well as budget. -Jason
The Forte had more richness of tone in the lower midrange, from what I hear on my computer speakers. I'm limited here, so I think we need more descriptions from you guys on clarity, dimension of the stage, correctness of tone, etc. But it does seem like you guys preferred the Cornwalls.
Great video as I have been planning on upgrading my RP8000F's to Cornwall 4's even thought he Forte's would fit a little better. Besides rock, metal, and country, I like to play a lot of jazz blues and even clasical at times, things with instrumentals sometimes at medium low volumes. Have you heard or felt the difference where there are more instrumentals playing. Thanks Ted
Thanks for watching! Yes! While we are limited to what we can play on the channel due to copyright restrictions, we have a vast playlist that we test with before coming to our final conclusions. While the music we listen to on here may not be exactly what you are used to hearing or align with your personal tastes, please know we have a long list that we listen to off camera as well and our opinion is also based on these tracks. -Jason
Have you transitioned over to the Cornwall IV’s yet? I also have the RP8000F’s and am thinking about the same move. Very curious to know how you are feeling about the Cornwalls.
@@xgamerfreak360 around 2 months ago I upgraded from the RP-280F (almost exactly as the RP-8000F) to the Forte IV; amazing difference; the 280s are great and sound excellent but the Fortes are in a different league by far.
Hi, really a very nice video. What is the minimum acceptable distance between the listener and the front baffle for each of those two sets of loudspeakers? Thanks in advance.
Cracking concrete with the Cornwell's are the bomb thank you very much now one thing you need to play at the most insane level you can stand is Chris garces kill the king from the first Masters of reality album self-titled Masters of reality that particular cut will truly crack concrete and a particular sound level heard through the Klipsch Cornwell's.. realistically a soul-searching experience of moving your Foundations across the abyss
Heresy IV vs Forte IV just released. Go check it out! CWIV vs LS Al5 coming very soon. Cornwall vs Klipschorn after than. Make sure you're subscribed to stay updated when the new content releases!
i own LaScala's and have had Cornwall 3's and heresy 3's in my house and system and I'd say the Cornwall goes deeper but feels less impactful, as big and less detail then the LaScala's horn loaded driver. LaScala is faster and tighter as well. but if you need ultimate bass the Cornwall will go a little lower 15hz lower. Cornwall is smaller as well not as deep as the LaScala,. LaScala is a stove sized speaker.
Lost opportunity. When did you switch between speakers? It would've been nice to have a visual cue stating which speaker was which, and also listing exactly what your amplifier, preamplifier, and DAC were.
Thanks for watching! The first half of the video, we don't tell which is which to avoid bias. We hold off until about half way in all of these videos and introduce a visual aid on screen to show which is which. If preferred, you can skip to this portion which comes roughly half way in. Both use identical source which, part of the time was a PC, and other times a Node 2i fed into a Cary SLI 80 HS then straight to speakers. -Jason
Better is relative. I lean towards the corns but im not sure its for LF specific reasons. Corns technically dig deeper but its a different bass and feel between the ported and passive radiator design. If you haven't already, you're going to need to listen in person to see whats best for you. -Jason
I'll be honest, i dont know how you didnt hear a difference in signature between the two. The upper midrange of one of them was noticably honkier and less clear
Like Trey said: for tone, yes. In these though, we are trying to get an exact comparison, where the only variable is the speaker. Compensating for this would give an unfair advantage to the Forte.
Thanks for watching John! We do run additional tests/listening when the cameras aren't rolling but, unfortunately we cannot post using tracks we don't own the royalties to. We are expanding our collection daily and hope to have more options for tracks in the future.
I believe that originally the Forté was the replacement for the Heresy and the Chorus was the replacement for the Cornwall. This latest iteration of the Forte seems to be an amalgamation of the original Forte and Chorus.
If you can place the speakers 2 or more feet away from the wall and out into the room, the Forte IV. If you must place them only 1 foot away, Cornwall! My room requires near-wall placement and I like my music low to medium loud, so Cornwall IV for me.
This is Cory... personally I'd pick the Cornwalls myself but the Forte shouldn't need that much space, Roy has publicly stated that they need at least 8" from the back of the speakers and that's about it. More than 3' isn't something I'd recommend as general advice. If you get too far out in the room you can potentially run into SBIR issues where the upper bass frequencies have somewhat of a suckout due to bouncing off the wall behind the speakers then partially cancelling out what's coming off the front and resulting in a notch in the response.
To avoid bias and focus on commentary while listening, the first half doesn't have the overlay. Fast forward to the second half and we throw this on the screen on the bottom right. :) -Jason
@@TopShelfAudio 2020 took a big hit on my finances but when I fully recover I plan to buy the Forte 4 and run it with the Naim Uniti Nova audiophile all in one system. I may also add a JL Audio or SVS sub. Keep on rockin'.
The numbers were off the top of my head...after 22y of those numbers...I mix a few up from time to time...You are correct, I did get the numbers wrong.
@@treycannon2275 That's ok. I'm a numbers guy by nature. I like the fact that the F4 is 3db less efficient than the C4 as it make sub matching easier. I'm thinking SVS 16 Ultra or JL Audio Fathom.
So glad I bought the CW4s! Although after talking to Cory, I’m a bit sad/upset that Klipsch will be upping the Heritage Jubilee pricing considerably more than the Industrial Jubilee which from my understanding, Klipsch will no longer be selling :/
In the beginning, we don't say which is which as, this creates a bias. Want to give you the chance to listen and come to your own conclusions. Additionally, we are more focused on the dialog and Jason and Treys thoughts. Half way through though, we reveal which is which and keep a note up on screen to let you know when we switch. This note comes in around the 13 minute mark in this video. :)
Two great classic songs to highlight the sonic abilities of the Klipsch Heritage line, would be Steely Dan's "Aja", and Dire Straits "You and Your Friend".

I use a Parasound JC5 at the shop. This is Jason's studio though. He's using Parasound something, either an A23+ and P6 or maybe the HINT6, one of those, I forget, they're almost identical in performance. -- Cory
To an extent, yes. They are both awesome speakers, though. Much of what you are hearing could be the recording and/or playback device. We always say this video is just a start. Try and find a place where you can listen in person to see which unit is right for you.
@@TopShelfAudio obviously, but as the recording variables are the same for both it's something I noticed. Thanks for the review! Will keep an eye open for more Klipsch on your channel!

Having the CW, it does a lot of things great and maybe better than the Forte, however, I discovered a critical fail with the CW's in that the big floppy 15" cannot keep up with high speed on the drums (some metal songs it cannot keep up with). This is not a huge matter for me since I don't listen to that genre often, but it was disappointing to find the CWs struggling with it. I'm wondering if the Forte has tighter bass and do a better job in this regard. Not planning on replacing my CWs, but had I heard this before I purchased, may have explored other options. Never heard the Forte in person.
that 15 is actually very tight and punchy, I'm curious as to what you were listening to. In this day and age, driver diameter really has little to do with what you're mentioning.
Thanks for watching! We listen to much of this off camera but are limited to songs we have permissions for while on camera due to copyright restrictions. -Jason
So those of us who have Forte I-III don't really have Heritage Speakers? I have no doubt the new Forte IV's sound the best and yes, I would love a pair of Cornwall IV's, but really?
Who said they were not Heritage? Oh, Trey. Well Marketing came up with the Heritage Line (Matt Sommers) and they include the Forte in there, so I think they are just talking sound signatures.
This was not to diminish the value of the IIIs or before in any way. They are awesome speakers and an awesome line throughout. Regardless of what line they are in, this doesn't change that in any way. The concept/argument of if they should or shouldn't be in the heritage line is basically an idea of how much of a hand PWK had in the making of the product. The rest of the heritage line, PWK was directly involved and the lead designer whereas the Forte was headed by a different engineer. PWK did still sign off on it and have direct input though so, both sides could be argued. The fact of the matter is that Klipsch designates them as a heritage product so, that is what they are. End of story. With the new IVs though, the sonic signature more closely resembles that of the other products in the line where this wasn't as much the case in previous generations.
youtu.be ! Well , For me it was difficult to differentiate between those two. I feel it would be much better if you'd tell us which was playing with a small caption at the corners. Thankyou though.
Thanks for watching! First half is for listening without knowing which is which for focus on commentary. About halfway through (around the 13minute mark) we add a note at the bottom corner to tell you which is which. :) -Jason
Heresy IV vs Cornwall IV would make more sense. Heresy has, since the inception, had more in common with the Cornwall. Remember the Conrwall III and Heresy III had the exact same mid and treble horns?
Thanks for watching! It is a possibility that we start doing these/digging in further as well in the future. We have had a lot of requests for Heresy + Sub VS other units solo. In this first season though, we were just trying to go through Klipsch's tiers as they are currently.
Thanks for watching. No break in at all in these listenings. While the break in period would be beneficial for every unit, these tests are all right out of the box compares.
Thanks for watching! This is a possibility. We've had several requests to do Heresy+Sub vs a variety of speakers. This may be something we tackle in the future. Make sure you're subscribed to stay updated on this content as it releases!
The compares aren't for everyone. We take requests/base the channel on our subscribers, though. Please let us know what you'd like to see and we'd be happy to help.
These videos are designed to primarily focus on the commentary as, it's impossible for all of the differences and subtleties to come across over the recording. As such, we don't show which speaker is playin through some of the video as to avoid bias while listening. That said, we introduce the on screen label about half way through. This allows for some good listening before learning which is which. If you'd like to skip to this part, it's about halfway through the video. :) -Jason
Jason speaking: While I've never heard the Elysian, I would personally I would lean toward the Cornwall...but I may be a bit bias toward horn loaded designs. That said, these opinions rely heavily on your content. If you have the opportunity, go into a showroom and listen to your top 3 favorite tracks on each. See which one comes out on top for you!

That, but more specifically the Sennheiser ME 2 Omni-Directional Lavalier Microphone with a ew 100 ENG G4 wireless kit. I say this to further what Trey said, great for its intended purposes of picking up our voices, but not at all designed to give accurate reproduction of the speakers themselves. There are too many variables including some out of our control. For instance, most viewers are probably watching on a phone. These videos are primarily for entertainment/for us to provide more details through our words. There is no internet video that can compare to hearing these in person and if you are considering purchasing either, please make the compare for yourself in person before going forward. We can tell you how they sound in 1000 words, but nothing compares to hearing them yourself. :)
I understand the argument about not taking the audio for other than entertainment etc. There are many examples on TH-cam where there has been an effort to record appropriately with a sense of high fidelity. It takes an effort with quality microphones and digital recorder and you need to emphasize the use of headphones for replay to benefit the listener. You can tell a difference even on this format. I think that it is beneficial to the viewer/customer. You are attempting to show a comparison and sell a premium priced product to a not so general customer base. Pick up a pair of Neumann KM 184 mics and a quality digital recorder from the likes of Zoom and do it right. You have a background in pro video production and it should be obvious. I am a fan of your dealership and I just believe that you are doing yourselves a disservice in putting out an audio representation that is not representative of what the products sound like. If you stand by the inferior format, etc, then do a static review.
@@johnshepherd708 ugh. Man this is Cory. A couple things here. First of all, I do not recommend auditioning speakers in this manner, I don't care what microphone you have. Best case scenario you strip it all down to basic frequency response and what the room sounds like, which, does a disservice to everybody. This thing has snowballed into this situation. We started off just trying to solely focus on the commentary. Then people wanted to know what music we were listening to. Then people wanted to listen along. Except there's significant licensing issues so we had to make deals with local artists. Then we had to label what speakers were playing. Now we're supposed to pick up some Neumann microphones. Just keeps snowballing in the name of trying to make people happy. Where this is headed was never the original intent and to be honest I'm about ready to stop making these listening comparison videos. The biggest advantages of the latest generation of Heritage speakers such as lower fatigue, better imaging, seamlessly blending of the drivers, micro-details in the midrange... it's all things that that gets totally lost when you try to record it then play it back on TH-cam, not to mention that every single device is going to sound different. I don't see the point in analyzing it at this level to be honest.
@@TopShelfAudio I agree with much of what you have said, however, I have heard a number of TH-cam applications where there has been a concise effort with quality recording to show differences. It is not common but it's out there. This can be done with relatively good playback with headphones. To expect any kind of decent playback with a portable device or computer with internal loudspeakers is totally out of the question. The licensing situation is another issue. It seems that others work around this. What you are attempting to do here is provide information for people to make a decision and a sale for your organization. I get it and commend your efforts to bring interesting information to the public. It comes down to a cost-benefit to you and whether you want to take it on. Is it better to listen in person? Yes. Will you be able to get a demo in person that reflects an ideal situation? That depends on a host of variables. I would say, from my experience, it is difficult to get a proper demonstration in most markets. I certainly did not want to in any manner, open a can of worms here. I have been a long term K-Horn and Forte owner and I am a fan of what Paul Klipsh stood for. I was, for a number of years a high end audio dealer and understand the issues here and appreciate your dedication to the market. Thank you for the history and background information on the Klipsch legacy. It is much appreciated.
We did not show you which speaker is which in the first half, but reveal in the second half of the video. You may be surprised by what you thought was what, or you may be spot on, but hopefully this helps take the guesswork and the bias out of the equation. :) -Jason

Answered the above a bit too quickly. The AL5 is the latest as stated but no, not the 5th. Which version it is depends on who you are talking to. In just the home versions (not including pro), some consider the 70th anniversary version to be a standalone generation. Personally (this is Jason speaking at the moment) I consider it to be a 2.5 and the AL5 to be the 3rd gen like you mentioned. The other part of my comment stands true, though.
They will sound excellent. I have the A10 and Cornwalls. I changed to Tungsol EL34s recently and it made a big difference.
👍🏻
i can't tell which is which, i just heard differences. one sounds scooped in the midrange and almost 'centered' where as the other is very full and dynamic
Did I miss the switching? I couldn’t tell which speaker was playing at any given time!
Dudes, getting my Forte IVs Monday coming up. So stoked
Excited for ya! Let us know what you think once you get em all hooked up!
Awesome job guys. This is how speaker reviews should be done.
Thanks James! Happy to hear you are enjoying them!
3/2024: Good Day From The Future
I am considering buying the Forte IV, due to price only.
It would be nice if you would tell us which speaker your listening to when you starting your listening/comparisons….
Thanks for watching. First half we leave this off to avoid bias and to focus on commentary. Second half we start revealing which is which so you can see if your original thoughts/opinions match once you hear which is which.

@@TopShelfAudio gotcha!
Thank you for quick response!
What is best sub woofer for the new la Scala?? Would love comparison with subs ! Thank you!
No problem at all! Thanks for watching!

No replacement for displacement. Cornwalls all the way!!! especially at lower volumes. The wife loves our cornwall IV's because of the ability for her to watch shows at lower volumes and have extraordinarily clear dialog
Thanks for watching! Cornwalls are definitely a fan favorite!
-Jason
I absolutely want to see Heresy IV vs Forte IV!
Seems to be a popular request. Looks like Heresy VS Forte take two is in the near future! :) Thanks for watching!
Did u find the forte was as deep in the bass as the Cornwall..maybe if u place the forte closer to the backwall?
Yes, they were very close...the bottom end was THERE.
-Jason
@@TopShelfAudio Would CW benefit from a good subwoofer like SVS SB 3000 or 3000 Micro?
I personally feel like every system needs a sub. While they do dig deep and sound great without, they sound even better with.
I knew before it was indicated on the screen which one was which. Def prefer the cornwalls. I prefer the chorus 2s vs my Forte 2s at home
At 22 min mark....yeah the cornwalls would never make it upstairs lol. Wife barely accepts the KLF20s
You can for sure tell the difference in output at different points throughout. Sometimes it is subtle. Other times, not subtle at all!
Hi, really a very nice video. What is the minimum acceptable distance between the listener and the front baffle for each of those two sets of loudspeakers? Thanks in advance.
We were about 10 or 12 ft...in a small room. If you can enjoy being in the room...no room is to small.
In addition to Trey's comment, keep an eye on the Q&A Videos, as I believe this is a topic we will be covering. :)
Cracking concrete with the Cornwell's are the bomb thank you very much now one thing you need to play at the most insane level you can stand is Chris garces kill the king from the first Masters of reality album self-titled Masters of reality that particular cut will truly crack concrete and a particular sound level heard through the Klipsch Cornwell's.. realistically a soul-searching experience of moving your
Foundations across the abyss
It would be helpful if you had graphics to indicate which speaker we are listening to
later videos did. not sure about this one.
Now I'm wondering what will be in store for the RF-7 IV.
You'll know when we know. :)
Waiting for the comparison of all IV's.
Heresy IV vs Forte IV just released. Go check it out! CWIV vs LS Al5 coming very soon. Cornwall vs Klipschorn after than. Make sure you're subscribed to stay updated when the new content releases!
I'm looking forward to the La Scala comparisons. I'm curious about the bottom end on that speaker. Keep up the good work.
It's coming but was delayed due to spatial constraints. We look forward to making the comparison as well. :)
i own LaScala's and have had Cornwall 3's and heresy 3's in my house and system and I'd say the Cornwall goes deeper but feels less impactful, as big and less detail then the LaScala's horn loaded driver.
-Jason
Both at high volume levels, which has a better low end? Many thanks
Better is relative. I lean towards the corns but im not sure its for LF specific reasons. Corns technically dig deeper but its a different bass and feel between the ported and passive radiator design. If you haven't already, you're going to need to listen in person to see whats best for you.

Thanks for watching!
Waiting for a comparison between RF7iii and Cornwall iv . Please ....
This is actually the first request we have had for this. Definitely something to consider for a future episode! Thanks for watching!
I'll be honest, i dont know how you didnt hear a difference in signature between the two. The upper midrange of one of them was noticably honkier and less clear
Wouldn't you be able to more accurately compare them if you matched the volume first?
For tone, yes...1 vs. the other...one is louder than the other...it is real life. IF just listening for tone, then I totally agree.
Like Trey said: for tone, yes. In these though, we are trying to get an exact comparison, where the only variable is the speaker. Compensating for this would give an unfair advantage to the Forte.
Hard to tell with the music choices , Would Have been nice to hear something a little more musical .
We have some Jazz artist sending us music...We hope to expand music as time go on.
@@TopShelfAudio I have my Forte 3 24" from the wall. They sound noticeably cleaner than 18"
@@TopShelfAudio, Thank you for that reply. I am sure the listening room and speaker placement make all the difference.
Another great video! Corn for the win as expected. Looking forward to the big boy comparisons in the future.
Thanks for watching! Big boys coming soon. :)
The Cornwall sounds more open. It's quite a lot of difference in the sound to my ears.
Thanks for watching! If you get the chance, take a listen to both in person. They are both awesome and a pretty tough compare.
You need to overlay which speaker is playing in the video when it switches.
To avoid bias and focus on commentary while listening, the first half doesn't have the overlay. Fast forward to the second half and we throw this on the screen on the bottom right. :)
-Jason
Good idea C for corn and F for forte better than A against B. Great speaker the Corn; Thanx guys

According to Klipsch the F4 is 99 db @1watt/1meter and the C4 is 102 db. Not the 96 db F4/99db C4 you referenced. Great video. Thanks
You are absolutely correct. We will look into getting this corrected in the video. Thanks for the note!

Watching and listening to this on my Kliphsch 2.1 PC speakers on my PC.... :)
I'm sure you're not the only one. I Actually edited the video with my PC connected to PM 2.1s as well!
How is one to know which speaker is playing? Sorry they only played rock and blues genres.
Now I want to upgrade my Forte III’s. I hope I can buy parts to do it.
Not sure if/when upgrade kits will be made available. It's possible, but we have not heard anything as of yet.
Two great classic songs to highlight the sonic abilities of the Klipsch Heritage line, would be Steely Dan's "Aja", and Dire Straits "You and Your Friend".

From what i hear, it seems the Cornwalls sound a lot more 'open'. The Fortes sound a bit clinical, as if it's lacking mid's a bit..

The Cornwall 4s are on a different planet in my opinion
better for sure
How about comparing La Scala Vs. Belle?

Thanks for watching! We listen to much of this off camera but are limited to songs we have permissions for while on camera due to copyright restrictions.

@@TopShelfAudio I do hope you guys understand I was just expressing my confusion. I meant no disrespect to PHT or to Trey Cannon in particular.

Which was which?
These videos are designed to primarily focus on the commentary as, it's impossible for all of the differences and subtleties to come across over the recording. As such, we don't show which speaker is playin through some of the video as to avoid bias while listening.
That said, we introduce the on screen label about half way through. This allows for some good listening before learning which is which. If you'd like to skip to this part, it's about halfway through the video. :)

The first cut is just terrible. What is the system and microphone?
The mic is just the lapel mics...under our chin...so not so good of a recording...Playing with the idea of trying to capture a good in room recording.
You make the Klipsch Heritage line looks so uncool
Thanks!

Как понять какая акустика в какое время звучит?
We did not show you which speaker is which in the first half, but reveal in the second half of the video. You may be surprised by what you thought was what, or you may be spot on, but hopefully this helps take the guesswork and the bias out of the equation. :)

@@TopShelfAudio спасибо. У вас получилось крутое видео! Мне нравится Клипш Корнволл, но цены в России на эту акустику почти 10 тысяч долларов! Кто-нибудь будет контролировать аппетиты дистрибьютеров?
BETTER BASS, LESS AMPLIFIER HISS
?
FORTE FOR THE WIN!
Better deeper base in the Forte IMO.
On paper no, but in reality, it often feels that way.
Actually big difference...CW all the way..
Thanks for watching! Lot of its going to come down to price and spacing in a lot of environments but... CWs are beasts for sure.

A much required video.
Thanks for watching!
I would like to see the size of that bedroom😂
In this video we are listening in a 14ft wide by about 20ft deep studio. The rear is a faux wall so it can be moved to make the room as deep as 40ft long. We've about reached out max size speakers for this room width wise though. We will be moving to a larger space for future compares.
@@TopShelfAudio Thanks but my question was referring to the Cornwalls being placed in a bedroom as mentioned in the video..😂
Do you expect the Klipsch la scala to be also released as a IV version?
It has, it's actually a 5th Version, called the AL-5. The Khorn is an AK-6
As Travis mentioned, the AL-5 is the latest. We are unaware of anything else in the pipeline at this time. That said, the AL5 is awesome and you should for sure check it out. We recently released an unboxing video on this model, as well as a history video. If it's of any interest, check those out as well!
@@TopShelfAudio Oh I thought that the la scala's were in iteration 3 and that the AL5 just was a name for the crossover and the Khorn was using a AL6 crossover.
We are unaware of anything else releasing at this time or any time soon. If/when one does come out though, we will for sure drop a new video for you guys to check it out!
@@TopShelfAudio Thanks for the clarification. You guys are awesome.
Cornwall vs heresy please
Accounting price difference 2.1 or 2.2 on heresy as well
Thanks for watching! This seems to be a popular request. We will for sure have to put these two to the test and see how they compare with the release of the new version. Make sure to like and subscribe to be the first to see it when it drops!
Forte seem more bass coming through TH-cam video, and Cornwall seem better mid range, again only through You Tube video sound.
TH-cam/mics as opposed to listening in person will def make it hard to tell. Hope the commentary helps a bit if you are in the market though!
-Jason
Bass is way tighter in Forte, better controlled!
Seems to feel a bit tighter in the forte, but deeper in the corn. Its a tradeoff on the different driver size and tech.
-Jason
i am wondering Why you are not stating which speaker is being played in this video.
To be honest we thought the whole exercise was rubbish and was hoping people would only pay attention to the comments afterwards. That's not how it went down, people are trying to study this stuff. Later videos we did a better job at identifying which one was which. But we can't justify reshooting anything.
Prefer the Forte sound in why I am hearing.
It's a very personal decision. Both are awesome. Make sure you listen in person before making your final decision! Thank you for watching. :)
Instruments have better separation in the Forte
I would tend to disagree. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but separation was about equal in both in my opinion.

❤️🙈❤️
Thanks for watching. :)
WAF. Wife acceptance factor.
DFF - Divorced Freedom Factor
Forte IV vs RF 7 III :D
