  • Gene editing allows scientists to change gene sequences by adding, replacing or removing sections of DNA.
This animation explains how this technology works, as well as its possible ethical and societal implications.
Produced by the Royal Society in conjunction with Wellcome Trust.

I don’t understand why designer babies are a bad thing, I’m a small dude altering my genetics enabling me to be 6’1 would have increased my quality of life. However this is just my opinion and I’d like to here why people think designer babies are bad

Designer babies are a bad idea. We have seen with dogs and cats what it can do. The problem is that it’s other people who are designing you. What if your mom wants you to be a freak show because that appeals to her?

What if gene editing can be used by certain groups of people for solely malicious intent? Like what if it gets into the wrong hands, and an accidental discovery of a new gene combination that leads to a new disease can be spread around?

    Regarding; Genetic Repair.
    Try using a small amount
    (1 tenth to 1/8 of a gram)
    of the amino acids
    L-Ornithine +L-Arginine, subcutaneously.
This will trigger a molecular chain reaction, as in chemical bonding, that will correct ANY errors in your genome.
    Good luck and God bless.

can you explain how editing dna process is? isnt dna is millions in our body, so which is edited? entire dna or just one single dna, its really confusing me. and how did they cut and replace such ultra small pieces in exact place.

I was wondering... Can you literally alter your genes on a chromosomal level and pass it down to children? I heard you have to modify the genes early at conception before your DNA is set.
