Fantastic video once again! I really like the combination of glazing and gradually building the colour towards the sharp edge. And so impressed by your capacity to paint such small lines (the lenses, the eyes,...) !
Thanks! It's my understanding that Kraken was the main scheme in 3rd edition, and I have a few videos for that. Are you thinking of a different color scheme?
@@MattsHobbyHour yeah, was thinking of the colos scheme in the codex artwork, something like black/blue armor with some red on it, flesh like grey/white with red too, really nice color scheme but don't know the name. Here is what its look like, find it on google : www.lorenzosasso.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Tyranids-3rd-edition-749x1030.jpg
Another great video Matt, and a top notch paint job too. Can you show us your Space Wolves army? Also, is the way your paint behaves on the wet palette because you use greaseproof paper/baking parchment? Or because you've thinned it down so much? I would love a paint prep techniques video for contrast and normal acrylic paints. I'm going to try Vallejo bone white and black now too - you seem to get good results with them
Thank you! I used some new parchment for the wet palette and I think this has a grease proof coating on it. Some of the colors were thinned down quite a bit but the paper makes them all look like that. I'm going to have to find a better parchment paper. Great idea for a paint prep video, thanks for the suggestion! In regard to the Space Wolves army unfortunately this model is part of a big, decade-long commission, and I don't have the means to show it off for the channel (believe me, I would love to!). I just get to see the army a few squads at a time now before they go to their new home.
would it be a good idea to mix in a black or a black+the fang glaze on the lower parts of the armor and the underside of the armor. i do that for my night lords, but i don't usually paint with brighter paints
Yeah you could absolutely do that. I would mix in a little black into the fang to make it a shade darker. Then dilute with water and glaze with that. Good luck!
Thanks for the suggestion! Eavy metal style is my favorite and that's usually the way I paint nearly everything. But I can give Grimdark a shot some time. Thanks for watching!
Great video! If I could make one suggestion: The Premier feature you use for a lot of your videos is very annoying on the subscriptions page. No animosity, but if you could instead post the videos when you're ready, that would be much prefereable.
What's annoying about it? I'm still learning a lot about youtube, so if there is something I'm missing I'd like to know. I like being able to have the video go live at the same time, plus there is the live chat option.
Relaxing, entertaining, informative. My favorite kind of content.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!

Thank you very much!
Man that armor is so crisp! I also like a darker slate grey as a base for Space Wolves. Thanks Mr. Matt.
Thanks Shane!
This is such a beautiful paint scheme... Thank you so much for doing tutorials like this
Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching!
Looking forward to getting them. Thanks Matt.
Super great paintjob :) thank you buddy for this video tutorial!
Thank you!
Fantastic work. I'm a big Space Wolves guy myself.
One of the best Space Wolf collectors I know! Thanks HTM!
Great work Matt
Thank you!
Nice work! Always a pleasure to watch ! =) Wonder if you could make a contrast hack for Tyranid scheme 3rd edition, these are sooooo beautiful !

Got a few more Space Wolves up my sleeves I think. Keep an eye out! Thanks for watching!

Great video, final result looks awesome. Can I ask which brush you're using when highlighting please? It's got a lovely narrow point
Thanks for watching! I use Rosemary and Co series 99's, sizes 2, 1, and 0. I use size 1 for most of the highlights.
Would love to see a Cadian video
noted! Thanks!

Space Wolves looking like Imperial Space Marines instead of Feral Orks in Imperial Power Armour? I'm in.
would you consider making a grimdark video as well? I don’t particularly like eavy metal style
Thanks for the suggestion! Eavy metal style is my favorite and that's usually the way I paint nearly everything. But I can give Grimdark a shot some time. Thanks for watching!
I would go basecoat black> world bearer red zenethal> dry brush grey > Blood Angel Contrast > Army Painter Darktone> edge highlight on armour > ☑️

For Russ and the Allfather!
And For the Armor Wash!
What Brushes are you using here?
These are Rosemary and Co series 99. Thanks for watching!
@@MattsHobbyHour Thanks, Great video. I've really enjoyed all your recent contrast content too!
Long or short ?

Thats looking more like ultramarine 😮
Not nearly blue enough for that my friend! Thanks for watching!
It’s an old school space wolves colour scheme. Very nice job
I feel your midtone should be a lot brighter to be space wolf
I like mine darker than the box. Makes them stand out a bit more. Thanks for watching!
Am I colorblind or do they look blue? 😅😅
It's a very blue leaning grey for sure. These guys really want to make sure they distance themselves from the Heresy.
@@MattsHobbyHour 😅😅
For me to paint like that it would cost me £100 in paints.
Way more than the miniature costs.
Use a white base under the yellow
Thanks for watching!
69th like....nice.
