    1:15 don't take people personally
    Income vs equity, you must produce equity not income
    5:10 YOUR JOB IS TO MAKE A FRANCHISE PROTOTYPE, AND SCALE IT
    Scale for sale
    Create a system with the guidelines, update it, scale it
    THE ONLY JOB OF THE ENTREPRENEUR
    5:55 VERY IMPORTANT! !!
    9:28 entrepreneur is a dreamer, who lives in the future
    12:40 WHAT ENREPRENURE DOES WITH PEOPLE WHO HE HIRES?
    16:00
    8:40 WRITE THIS DOWN
    No dream = die
    WHAT IS MY VISION FOR PEOPLE?
    12:00 DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOU HIRE?
    DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT'S THE GOAL OF ANY BUSINESS? IS TO CREATE AN ENTERPRISE
    DON'T YOU FORGET THE GOAL? IT'S THE SYSTEM , NOT PEOPLE IN BUSINESS
    IT'S THE BUSINESS ITSELF
    THE GUIDELINES THAT YOU UPDATE
    19:00 😂😂😂😂😂 WRITE DOWN
    20:40 first design the product, WHAT you could sell , it's success itself,

    Thanks mike Gerber for your advice,
    I am about halfway through your book the E-myth revisited.
    And also for past 6 months I been putting your methods to work in my business, I am working on my business and not in my business!
    I have seen tremendous growth this year after stepping back and letting my employees do the work why I work on the business!!!!
    I am hoping to build a franchise and grow more in the next 5 years!!
    Thanks again Michael Gerber!!

    7:00 I have a:
    dream...what is it?
    vision...what is it?
    purpose...what is it?
    mission...what is it?
    Without a platform for growth it will automatically fail!
    Without a dream, vision, purpose and mission it will automatically fail! Launch a enterprise based upon a platform that is clear, it starts with a dream, a clear vision, a purpose and the determination to fulfill your life\ companies mission!
    A dreamer, a thinker, a story teller, a leader!👍
    A dreamer has a dream
    A thinker has a vision
    A story teller has a purpose
    A leader has a mission
    The system is the solution not the people you hire! You have to create a intelligent system that doesn't rely on you, it works because of the model\system you've built!
    19:13
    The job, the client fulfilment system.

    How do you scale if you are a doctor and patients come to you personally, not your assistant? If you are a psycholigist, and people want to talk to you personally? A lawyer, people needing your knowledge and experience? Not every trade is so repeatable as baking pies.

    I believe Gerber has great positive influence on business owners themselves, if they wanted to scale their business and become more free...however, many owners start their business for the passion of the value the business gives; for that reason they have their finger on the pulse more-so and have more passion for the ethical function of their business. Franchises etc are often some of the worst for customer service because the staff are treated like pieces of meat/machines, which then gets passed onto the consumer. The consumer is left feeling like a worthless number, just some member of a queue. On the other hand, go to a small business who's deeply concerned about their reputation, the "organic/holistic" welfare of the staff and the customer...you would get a far more personable experience, even if it's rough around the edges. The value of the human experience can mean far more to many people than the end product itself per se. You can't always duplicate this kind of raw authenticity on a large scale in some manuscript.

    • @davidbowles3089
      @davidbowles3089 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you read the book, please take a closer look at the chapter explaining management & people strategies. When he talks to the manager of the hotel on how he gets his people to not only do what they are required but to make it an amazing experience. He really does an amazing job of explaining it. It would have answered your question before you asked it.
      Cheers,

    • @paulstone7655
      @paulstone7655 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@davidbowles3089 Hi David, yeah I've gone through that chapter, very inspiring, albeit almost impossible to implement. I still can't help feeling that there's a major gap between the idealistic outlook of the entrepreneur (or managing director) and the technicians. The fallacy being that a technician can somehow share the same passion / foresight as the company creator(s). In the real world it just doesn't happen - general society see work as a necessary "evil". The main thing that changes their outlook is rate of pay, a manageable workload and appreciation of their extremely tedious / monotonous input. I hate to break it to the author but using Mcdonalds as a prime example of a perfect company (efficiency, passion for quality etc) is not ideal considering much of the staff look suicidal. It would take far more than an excited director to motivate employees into seeing the same vision they do - the problem is more societal (job = means to an end, not the beauty the director envisions). It's deeply ingrained, and often something that doesn't dissipate unless there is close association with the company creators (e.g as I mentioned, in the small business) where people fully trust and respect each other (unlike most franchises I know).

    • @paulstone7655
      @paulstone7655 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @j s I love his work, just pointing out that if you want that raw "organic" authenticity and person touch you can't duplicate that when massively scaling up (or at least it's rare). What's so "yeah but" about that?

    Not to be the contrarian, but this advice seems much easier to utilize in a product based business (Like an Amazon, or even a McDonalds with very simple products to make or distribute) vs a truly technical service or installation type business (electrician, mechanic, plumbing, trades, etc). Ray Krok finding people to make hamburgers is a lot easier than finding someone to rebuild a transmission. Not saying the advice isn't good, but I think some small businesses would find the ideas far easier to implement while others may simply not have the labor pool within the community to scale their specific business easily.

    • @eriko3050
      @eriko3050 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Would you rather have a nonscalabe business with a high change of success or a scalable business with a lower chance of success? Most people need the first. Shooting for the stars means few people will take the shot and even fewer will hit it. Create value and you will be fine.

But, you got to understand , with all the billions of people in the world, where's the money 💰 to start or own a business. Look what's going on in today's situations. It's nice to dream . But, where's all the money ? People, I'm not saying don't work or to invest; You're fighting a battle to have and keep what you own. Others comes in and takes what you got.

This guy should give a quick overview, then the details, then a summary. ❌ He goes on and on and on and on and on and on. Newco, Newco, Newco, Newco, Newco!! Puke!🤮 ❌ How many times did he say… Vision, dream, purpose, Mission? Was it 10 or 15 or 20? Do you really have to tell a crowd of business people to write it down repeatedly? ❌ He reminds me of motivational speakers at multilevel marketing meetings, who say… Everybody say success! Everybody say freedom! Everybody say win!!
