I remember when Charles Woodson left the Raiders. I was 16 and heartbroken, he was my all time favorite player. But I never ever held it against him, he wouldn’t have won a ring had he not left. It was bittersweet but when he returned every Raider fan welcomed him back with open arms. He was the true definition of a Raider, commitment to excellence. And goddamn it did he excel.
There are other guys that give it a LOT of doubt. Ever heard of Rod Woodson, Deion Sanders, Mel Blount, Ronnie Lott, etc.? I mean Woodson is right up there with those guys, but saying he's the greatest DB without a doubt is just pure ignorance.
@@CesarPerez-it8xy Sanders was the better athlete. Played baseball for the Atlanta Braves & the Dallas Cowboys. Played in 2 World Series and in 3 Super Bowls.
Woodson a legend forever, he's a Raider no doubt his spirit was always in those fans but it was a blessing in disguise that he went to Green Bay, otherwise he wouldn't be going to the Hall of Fame or have a ring
I'm a Raider till I die and a little bit Packer fan because of my mom so I basically always saw Woodson on my favorite teams and glad He went to the Packers he should have a Ring even two but I kinda wish it was from the Raiders but it is ok
And Tony home dont forget your former cowgirl qb who all of you cowgirl fans way overrated Prescott already better than home in way less time if hes smart he would sign with some other team
By far my favorite CB of all time and partial bias because of being a Green Bay fan. I loved Charles Woodson and his ability to close down WR and make GB actually look impressive on defense. He was our spark we needed and I think he has been that spark where ever he went. Thank you Woodson you were probably tied for the biggest reason we had a superbowl winning season and we miss you in the sport and in our colors!
One of my favorite players ever. Best DB hands down in my opinion. I'm glad he peaked with the packers and lead our defense in our Super Bowl winning season. Played absolutely phenomenal in Oakland as well even in his second stint. Will be missed. HOF bound
His Packer years with Clay & Rodgers were incredible. Looking at his slender frame you can't comprehend how he last that long. Good to see fossils like Mendenhall, Roy Williams, Cadillac etc..
They should have included the play when Woodson was a rookie where he almost got the sack but the QB just got the ball over Woodson's arms, the receiver got the ball and started down the sideline and Woodson caught up to him and tackled him from behind. That play really highlighted not just his speed, but his desire to make the play.
I am only at the 2:47 mark and the goosebumps have already taken over my body. Man I can still remember reading on ESPN that the Packers were signing Charles Woodson and MAN!! I cried tears of joy like a damn child 😂 Reigning defensive player of the year was our SB run. I was gifted a Woodson jersey that year for Christmas by a dear friend, opened up that gift while we were playing the Giants on X-Mas eve man how time flies!!
+Steelers Nation I believe they mean cornerbacks. I understand Woodson played a season or two as safety but I believe his cornerback skills is what he is known for.
I DONT SEE WHY ANYONE WOULD ADD DARREL REVIS TO THIS MIX..... COMPLETE FALL OFF AFTER THE BOWL SMOKING WITH THE PATRIOTS A FEW YEARS AGO.... HE WAS GREAT FOR 6 YEARS.... WOODSON WAS ELITE FOR 18 YEARS.....
Greatest of all time. Hands down on all levels. They already have his HOF jacket ready. Happy birthday Charles. Glad you were a Raider. Thank you for all of the memories.
Raiders need miss/need him SO bad this year... My Favorite Raider and my first jersey ever. Love you forever C. Wood. Raider Nation wishes you the best
Not only was he the best db, he was probably the best athlete I’ve ever seen, he could of even played for like 2 more years at old age and been on offense if he wanted to
Those Packer highlights package is probably the best set of Defensive highlights there is. Maybe Sanders could compare but, Woodson was every type of D back highlight
I know this comment is super old but other not having primetime on there its not a bad list. Including Deion I would have 1.Deion 2.Charles Woodson 3.Ronnie Lott 4.Ed Reed 5.Either B.Dawk or Night Train Lane
Will go into the hall of fame as a raider. The team he always loved and still loves till this day. Green Bay was just a detour in his life he had to live with. He even says his love has always been for raiders. He used the packers to get his ring after Oakland lost the SB in 2002 with him. When he came back to the raiders he said, I'm home.. 1st ballot HOF Raider.
BOMBER BOMBS Every time Charles Woodson looks at picture of him with the president, or looks at his Defensive Player of the Year award, or looks down at his beautiful Super Bowl ring it'll say Green Bay Packers on all of those things :)
+Questionabledentity And every time he tells about the Raiders he will always keep calling it his home and that the Raider Nation are the best fans. He says it all the time
That's fine. Every time he talks about his Raider memories though they will be filled with his career shortcomings for the most part. Every time he discusses his Packer memories they will be filled with his career achievements for the most part
No doubt he'll be in the hall of fame. 17 years in the league and he played at the top of his game every one of those years. Not only was he a great player, but he was a great man, thank you for all that you did in the league for Oakland and Green Bay Charles Woodson, the NFL was blessed to have an inspirational player like you
I can’t believe they didn’t show his tackle against Jones Drew and the jaguars, he literally flew in the air, it was one of the best tackles I’ve ever seen. What an amazing player
Eh, not what he used to be. Whats scary is a Woodson in his prime on this current Raiders defense. With the way the offense is playing that team would be amazing
Not what he used to be but according to PFF, he was the highest graded safety when it came to coverage. Wood still had another year left in him. The desire left him this past year though.
Our defense wouldn't be the worst in the NFL that's for sure. But Woodson needed and deserved to retire. Athletically he could still dominate, but he was taking way too much punishment and was dislocating something on his body damn near every game.
What's really crazy is he played like a savage up until his very last snap. AND if he decided to play another year he would still be an excellent S. Some people are just ageless wonders I suppose. Darrel Green is another great example.
Never realized what a beast he was. Didn't even know he'd won a Heisman as I hadn't paid attention that year I guess. But he deserved it, and he deserves to go to the Hall of Fame ASAP.
dat boi way up you think he was better in Green Bay cause they were overall a better team... plus he played better in Oakland cause thats where he started
I miss having Woodson on the Packers. Every week you expected greatness from him. So happy he got the Super Bowl win with us. He's the greatest to ever do it!
As a Packers fan, Woodson will always be considered a Raider. He gave us some of his best years, and we got him a ring. But he started out and ended as a Raider. Much respect to him.
How is this video NOT an hour long?! He played so long, his first tackle was Jim Brown. ;') Charles Woodson will keep dominating for all time in the HOF ! ! !
It would have been a shame if he never got a SuperBowl ring. One of the best to play the position, glad he went to Green Bay and won the big one! What a career! GOAT
Even as a Chiefs fan. All the respect in the world for this man. Marcus Peters felt like he had a lot of Charles Woodson in him. Just wished he hit folks like 24. First Ballot Hall of Famer
are you dumb? He was drafted as a Corner by Oakland, and played there until he left Green Bay, turned down an offer from the Broncos that would have paid him more, and came back to the team that drafted him. It was when he was back in the silver and black where they moved him to Safety. I'm not gunna say he was the Best Corner of all time, but he's top 3 for sure.
He moved to safety because he got old and the man was always a ball hawk , instead of chasing the speedy kids around he could just sit overtop and snag whatever came his way, he played a very long time, you can’t keep playing corner forever because you’re directly challenging someone else who’s younger and faster every play
One of the few Heismans to live up to his potential. Hall of Famer.
True indeed
Absolutely
Yep 💯
Tim Tebow lived up to his potential
Tim brown lived up to his potential as well. Brown did it with mediocre QB's.
Best highlights of any defensive player I've ever seen. Woodson is truly one of the GOATS
Evan Lapp GOAT
Evan Lapp ya but why did he leave

Facts, most of us cheered him on, as long as it wasn't hurting us. 😂... So when he came back, there was no beef. He just came home. ✊
I'm a simple man,I see Charles Woodson and I click.
Greatest DB of all time with no doubt..
yup
There are other guys that give it a LOT of doubt. Ever heard of Rod Woodson, Deion Sanders, Mel Blount, Ronnie Lott, etc.? I mean Woodson is right up there with those guys, but saying he's the greatest DB without a doubt is just pure ignorance.
***** Rod Woodson isn't related to Charles Woodson, though.
***** That's 100% lie. Really, stop lying.
***** No, you're not even closely related. You're not even 3rd or 4th cousins.
Respect to the GOAT. It's been a honor to watch you play and to have my favorite team to play against you.
I miss Charles Woodson in the NFL
As a Raiders fan. Me too.
Michael Barges yes :(
The funny part is l'm a Cowboys fan and l'm saying this
I am a raiders fan my dad grew up watching him
Simply amazing to watch. He was so smart and so athletic. Im glad i had the honors of watching him play. Truly a first ballot hall of famer.
I love Deion and all but the he never tried as hard as Woodson he was naturally gifted and Woodson worked 20x harder.
The Noobas hard worker always out performs talent when talent isn't working hard!
Exept for Deion Sanders
The Noobas True. Funny thing is Woodson had both. Woodson was an athletic freak when he wss younger.

considering how GB is during free agency...it truly is a blessing lol they never sign anybody!
When we sign in free agency it reggie white Charles Woodson Jared Cook and the guy that forced interception in the Super Bowl
Raiders fan here. Agreed. He was able to achieve greatness with the packers. They had a better team and they utilized him better.

Kei Th Woodson also played Wide Receiver in college too ;)
The SevereGamer yes i also know that lol
The couple years he played in Green Bay I swear watching this dude use to give me chills #Goat
One of the greatest ever. I loved watching him in green and gold. He has my vote for the Hall of Fame.

Don't like the raiders but Charles Woodson best CB I've ever seen
Junior Rodriguez he ain't a corner he a safety
Junior Rodriguez I guess he was both
He was a hybrid. He played both postions.
